SotS said:Uhhh, Pikmin 3 would like a word with you.
SotS said:And though I absolutely despise the stupid phrase "Hardcore Gamer" (insert herp-derp here if you say it like me) ZombiU looks like a good game for them. Also depending on what YOUR idea of a Launch Window is; MONSTER HUNTER UNIVERSE YES YES YEEEEESSSS.
SotS said:Personally I don't think it's very smart to buy much digital anyways (since you can't sell anything back if you don't want it anymore), so 8 GB is just fine if you ask me and 32 GB is awesome. Also the storage can be expanded, except unlike the 360 if I remember correctly it can be exceeded with like SD cards or something simple like that.
Bolt the Cat said:I probably won't be interested in Pikmin 3. I'm probably not going to get a Wii U until at least one of the following comes out:
-new 3D Mario that isn't as rehashtastic as NSMBU
-SSB4
-new Kirby game
-Metroid Prime 4 or some sort of spiritual sequel to the Prime series (nothing like Other M)
-new Donkey Kong game
-new Yoshi game
-certain Pokemon spinoffs
Where are those games Nintendo?
By "hardcore", I mean someone who plays a lot of video games. If you're in that group, you're going to find yourself running out of memory space pretty quickly.
Bolt the Cat said:A little, yeah. Too bad there's not many good games coming out in the launch window, otherwise I'd take advantage of it. Also, I'm kind of disappointed in the lack of memory space Wii U has. 32 G is bad enough (since my 360 can hold four times that amount), but 8 G is absolutely pathetic. I don't see why any hardcore gamer would go for the Basic package.
Bolt the Cat said:The 360's memory can be expanded by buying a new hard drive. And that's the problem, if you need more memory, you have to pay for it. So it's better to have too much than too little.
don()shinobi said:Apparently, Nintendo product marketing manager Bill Trinen said that the stand-alone Wii U GamePad, being released in Japan at half the cost of the full console, won't be priced or released in North America until there's content that requires doubling up.
Must suck for the people who will break their controllers.
Bolt the Cat said:Well, look like the memory issue may not be an issue anymore:

As long as the hard drive isn't too pricy.
SotS said:Aw. I heard elsewhere that it would be like SD cards or something like that. I hate Hard Drives just because they are specific to systems. Ugh. Like I said though, the 32 GB should be good enough for me for a long while. Honestly Reggie's explanation does make a ton of sense. Look at Xbox HDDs for an example. They're still expensive if you ask me, but no where near as much as they used to be at all.
Chariblaze said:They're not selling drives. You supply your own. A 320 GB is like $70; they do plummet.

SotS said:Edit: PsychedelicBreakfast, it only supports one GamePad for now. You kinda' said the same thing but just to clear it up I'm going to say that it CAN support two. There are just no games that do it now. Which makes a ton of sense really, because not many people would be able to buy another GamePad on Launch, so why make your game support two?
