(1) 'Noble Victories' Booster Packs, Theme Decks, Blister Pack [8/20]

The new set looks pretty cool so far and I like the new art on the booster covers. I am one of the few that save booster covers boxes and tins so yeah these look pretty cool XD.:)

I think it's kind of funny that EP has red booster borders while cards from "red collection" are in blue edged booster packs.

next set going to be in yellow? ;)

seriously skipping EP, getting a booster case (6 booster boxes) of Noble Victors. even if it's just to sell off a few booster boxes after I've gotten everything I want.

^Wow, that'll cost a lot.

Images aren't loading for me right now, but from the text, sounds good to me. But, I don't see why everyone's saying that EP was bad and this will be great. Both sets have a handfull of good stuff, but honestly, I doubt this set will have a significant amount more good cards than EP.
Plus, everyone's judging EP before they've even used the cards from it, and from my prerelease, I can tell you that some of the rogue ideas can be better than you think at first glance. All of the EP trainers have a use, and all are good uses. Bianca is underrated, and she shows a lot of potential. I'm just saying that EP has more to it than meets the eye. It's not just Beartic, Catcher and Abilitelle.

Eww, Accelgor and Escavalier? Couldn't they have chosen better cards? After the epic that was the Power Play deck from Emerging Powers...I just hope the other cards are better.

Booster pack art though, is epic. Especially that Hydreigon.

I haven't the faintest idea why TPCi would make the theme decks Excavalier and Accelgor.

Seriously, I'm not going to buy them and neither will a lot of people.

I just saw this. I'm not going to buy one. They often put mediocre cards in, but those 2 are really bad. Espeacially Excavalier.

Hydreigon – Darkness – HP150
Stage 2 – Evolves from Zweilous

Ability: Dark Aura
All Energy attached to this Pokemon becomes Darkness Energy.

[D][D][D][D] Dangerous Blade: 60 damage. Choose 2 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon, and this attack also does 40 damage to each of those Pokemon (don’t apply Weakness and Resistance when damaging the Bench).

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: Psychic (-20)
Retreat: 3

--------

Victini – Fire – HP60
Basic Pokemon

Ability: Victory Star
You can use this when your Pokemon flip coins as part of an attack. Ignore all results of those coin flips and reflip from the beginning. You can’t use Victory Star more than 1 time during your turn even if you have multiple Victini in play.

[R][C] Assist Power: 30 damage. Move all Energy attached to this Pokemon to 1 of your Benched Pokemon.

Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

--------

Victini – Psychic – HP60
Basic Pokemon

[P] V-Blast: 120 damage. Flip 2 coins, if even 1 is tails, this attack fails.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

--------

Victini – Fire – HP70
Basic Pokemon

[R][C] V-Generate: 100 damage. If you don’t have 5 Pokemon on your Bench, this attack fails.

Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

They've been released. Hydriegon's attack does 60 for 4 {D} and 40 to 2 benched Pokemon too. It's ability makes all energy act like {d}, so it can attack with DCE.

What are [R] energies? Red? Or am i having a colossal derp moment

Yes, it's "R" for red (as far as I know), which means Fire (because the Fire Energy symbol is red). Fire Energy and Fighting Energy have the same first letter, so the R was chosen for Fire to avoid confusion.

Why doesn't Hydreigon just have 4 C energies as its attack cost? It seems a bit redundant making him have an ability, except to cater for cards that are effected by abilities...

This set is awesome! I'm gonna save my money to go to the Noble Victories pre-release. But then again, the choices for the theme decks is terrible. I mean, they usually put in mediocre cards, but Escavilar and Accelgor are pretty bad. Then again, beggars can't be choosers :(. But if it were up to me, I would put Hydregion and Haxorus as the Pokemon the theme decks would revolve around. Hyderigion deck as a Dark/Fire deck and the Haxorus deck as a Normal/Fighting deck.

Hey, Accelgor is not that bad, considering you can get a turn 2 set-up like its nothing and then attack for 60 or attack for 20 with energy discard (Victiny would help here). The decks were chosen to be that way because they make a really good match up with each of the basic's first attack.

Karrablast – Grass – HP60
Basic Pokemon

[C] Mysterious Evolution: If you or your opponent have any Shelmet in play, search your deck for a card that evolves from this Pokemon and play it on top of this Pokemon to evolve it. Shuffle your deck afterward.
[C][C] Fury Attack: Flip 3 coins, this attack does 10 damage times the number of heads.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shelmet – Grass – HP60
Basic Pokemon

[C] Mysterious Evolution: If you or your opponent have any Karrablast in play, search your deck for a card that evolves from this Pokemon and play it on top of this Pokemon to evolve it. Shuffle your deck afterward.
[G] Ram: 10 damage.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 3

EP's hasen't even been released yet and we already have news on a new set! Anyway, the art on those packs look great! You can see Dragonspiral tower in the backround on the booster pack with Druddigon on it!
