(1) 'Plasma Blast' Booster Pack and Theme Deck Images [5/18]

Which Genesect is that again?

It was a BW-P Promo. 100 HP, first attack puts two Grass Basics on the Bench for a Colorless; second attack does 80 for GGC, 100 if you flip heads. Fire weakness, 1 retreat.

There's only two fire types in MG, where is the rest of the Volcarona deck going to come from?

Promos, where else would you think :p

Looks okay, not really a fan of the Genesect booster art though.

There don't seem to be many Fire promos, if any, either. Battle Boost probably has a few that'll end up here. Or it'll just be 3-4 Larvesta, 2 Volcarona and maybe some Druddigon and focus on another type. Sometimes the cover card's type is the minor type. (Raiders, for instance, basically only had the cover card line and a few basics, and Furious Knights had even less.)

uh... Are you forgetting the Exciting Battle for Everyone decks?
I believe those will be included in the set (as horrible as the cards are in terms of playability)...

Okay, this is stupidly weird... I was expecting that Genesect promo to be in the set BUT... One deck has Genesect, the other Volcarona... This doesn't make any sense...
First, it probably means Volcarona will downgrade from Holo to non-holo Rare which is dumb as Volcarona is the only Fire holo in Megalo Cannon...
Second, if Volcarona remains a holo, it means Genesect may be a Holo too, which shouldn't happen because there is another Genesect promo which happens to be a Plasma card, and if that one is also in the set, then that's the one that deserves to be a holo while this one should remain non-holo...
Third, speaking of that card, why does one deck has a non-Plasma card as its main card while the other has a Plasma card? I get that one of the decks has to have Genesect but it'd make more sense to put the Plasma Genesect promo I mentioned above...
Finally, even if they did the above, there's still the fact that one is a basic pokémon while the other is a stage 1... Don't see any symmetry here other than both being Bug-types in the games (although Volcarona is a Fire card)...

Honestly I'm okay with Volcarona being downgraded. I was kind of surprised that it was a holo in the first place because usually Japan makes really good cards into holos (GENERALLY, not always) and Volcarona is... pretty meh.

Have you noticed so far that the Plasma sets' packaging colors are similar to chewing gum, breathmint, and/or mouthwash packaging colors?

Sure, that's true but it was the only fire holo card (and line for that matter) in the set... But the main reason I don't like when they do that is because holo cards with CGI artwork usually have a blander background, precisely because they are meant to be holos; The holography fills the blandness of the backgrounds... They make them non-holos and then, you end up with something like Giratina from Plasma Storm which looks much worse without the holography...

The only fire type japaneese promo I can see being in the set is BWP-165 Charmander, and then they can make a reprint of Charmelion and use the Battle Boost Charizard for the set. Otherwise Larvesta and Volcarana might be the only fire types in the set. They could also use Magmar and Magmortar from Everyone's Exciting battle thing

Giratina/Druddigon: you're not the most unusual theme deck covers of the BW set anymore, congratulations.

I bet 10 bucks on that http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Victini_(Everyone%27s_Exciting_Battle_8) appears in the Volcarona deck.

Honestly this is probably the set I'm looking forward to the most, just a lot of good artwork and some cool cards like silver bangle and Virizion ex^^, plus this is the first time I really like the pack artwork in a long while, seriously can't wait!

Thinking about it, there are almost as little Grass types available as there are Fire types.

Surskit/Masquerain: Will likely only be added in a theme deck that uses multiple Tools. That is definitely a possibility of course (Raiders), and sometimes Pokemon are added with useless abilities (Royal Guard's Nidoking), but it's still doubtful

Lileep/Cradily: I don't think they're going to add Fossil-evolutions.

Tropius: The only TRUE possibility, and a pretty nice one too (for a theme deck).

Karrablast: Is merely a pre-evo for a Steel type. Theme decks not always complete evolution lines, but this card has no relation with the Grass type either (besides its type and weakness)

Shelmet/Accelgor: Unless the deck's Grass/Steel, it likely won't be added due to one of its attacks not getting its fullest power without the Metal-type Accelgor (of course, we also had Simisear with its Water Power with 0 Water energies once, but still).

Woah, woah, woah, there's a metal type accelgor? Since when?

I really hope the theme deck types are Grass Lightning, and Fire Metal.

We haven't seen a Grass Lightning theme deck since the ex sets.
We haven't seen a Fire Metal theme deck ever. It could be Fire Darkness, but we need more metal representation in theme decks.

@GamerXYZ: You're joking right? Do you really wanna compare the number of Grass types in the set with the number of Fire types? There's only 2 Fire cards (both from the same line) in Megalo Cannon, while there's 8 Grass cards not counting EXs, FA and shinies... Sure, we already know Plasma Blast will have more cards (like the Genesect promo in the theme deck) and I really think they will include the Exciting-Battles-wtv-deck cards, but still the number of Grass cards will be much bigger than the number of Fire cards...

@signofzeta: Like, no problem with a Fire/Metal deck but joining 2 of the types which usually have very few cards in sets, means the deck would have to be filled with a lot of Colorless pokémon...
