Anyone notice how the people in the walking in town video are in Black and White except that the Main Character and that one girl.
business people and lady gotta be places :p

probably just a loop of the spirtes in an early build as place holders for future sprites.

like when they showed the city and it didnt have billboards and then the second time it did i think its the same stuff going here work in progress :D

I'm pretty excited now after seeing those vids! I can't wait until they show other cities and towns :)

This looks amazing. I can't wait until it's polished and we have custom animations for every single Pokemon....

Wow, I'm so excited for future generations, too!

It feels like Christmas :3
I really like the new features (although the vid of Hiun City looks a bit stupid with all those people walking in a straight line (beta version?)). But I hope the games will still have the 'Pokémon feeling' to it. Ah well, who knows :/

I hope they really expand on the animations. For example, if someone uses extreme speed you see the sprite charge the opponent rather than just moving lines.

I don't expect them to change much but I expect that the third version, which is probably on 3DS, will.

That'll still be a while off, even if the system's out by the time Black and White versions are. Personally, I'm hoping they try and improve on them a little more now while they're still working on things, or at least try to... Some of the DP animations just didn't look the good to me, so I hope they do like they did with HGSS and make them look at least a little bit better it not redoing them completely.

The new battle system looks awesome. Can't wait to play this games. Notice how Pokabu's ears randomly move after he gets hit by that water attack, so cute!

I think that's probably gonna happen. I mean, the fact that they only showed us special based moves sure musn't be a coincidence... Physical moves will only be shown later, and i'm sure this time we'll get some physical contact between pokemon. Can't wait to see the animation of moves like Close Combat, for example!

I am really amazed, i am so happy the new battle animations are completely incredible, they finally made pokemon games look a bit more real but without loosing their characteristic fantasy, now i am sure this generation is going to be the great return of pokemon

i think its mind blowing but wpm you might also want to include the movie clip from last nights episode as well i think theres one on youtube if you cant get one...and also, could you get full clear scans from the pages from corocoro, because i kinda want to see what they have to say and stuff liek tht..thx =P

I think the sprite animations when they are in battle are nice. I think thats a nice feature in the game. I hope they show us other things that are new in the game.

Personally, I love the new changes. Animated sprites are just awesome and the camera movement makes this game stand out. Can anybody explain the way the camera works? Sometimes it zooms out and sometimes it doesn't. What's that about? As for the people randomly talking to you, I think it makes sense because its not always silent in a big city. There are people yelling and talking all the time. In previous games you walk around and it's silent unless you talk to someone, this way it seems more lifelike.

@Apollo: The NPCs aren't saying much to the main character. They're saying things like "I agree" and "bye-bye" which... don't have much to do with passing people on the street.

It's sort of how when you're talking in a crowded city you can't hear what people are saying from far away but when you get up close you can hear their conversations. That's what it's like, it's not really NPCs saying things to the main character, it's to emulate the crowded city feeling. And no, they aren't insulting him.

--------------------------

That said, I like the animations. Judging by the random eye-blinking they probably animated each major part separately, depending on what needs to be animated for each Pokemon, since I doubt they drew a gazillion sprites just so they could have the eyes blink randomly.

It's the return of Pokemon! It's what will make Pokemon the biggest thing since *insert random big francise here*! I'll enjoy having a league 5 mins away instead of the usual 20 mins! Us Poke-nerds/Poke-People will never be made fun of again! Pokemon 1998 revival FTW! (Only 11, so stories all I know is rumors)
