(1) Regionals to be Held Over Three Weekends in 2012-13 Season [7/10]

I see this topic title and I feel a rising dread. Time to read the news article.

...

Interesting; so SoCal is getting their Regionals in April? It's most likely going to be the middle of April. I can count the days to it, since it's always the same weekend as my birthday.
But at least I get to do something amazing when close to home now!

I wonder if I'll be able to go to NorCal this October...?

NorCal in October! Sweet!!!

EDIT: Sort of ninja'd. DNA, you better show up in October.

EDIT #2: Hold on, prereleases in July...? That seems kind of early, but I'll take it!

I'll definitely try. I will need to ask Ruben first.

I wonder why they didn't add in spring Battle Roads...

I hope this time that more Regs are closer than just Fort Wayne (which is confirmed for Oct 13/14). I really want to be able to go to more than one.

There are prereleases this July, but they are the last weekend. It's for the TOs that are going to Worlds or have players going to Worlds. I think it means the very last weekend of July.

I took out the Regionals for NorCal and SoCal because the source said they're not 100% confirmed yet (but likely to happen). And I forgot to add Spring BR's, so it's in there now.

Here's the Fort Wayne one for VGC. https://www.facebook.com/events/363163907088606/

Also, I think you said Regs were the 12th of October. They're the 13th.

Philly is confirmed for the Fall regional time. All I hope for is that Georgia and Virginia to be at seperate times. Plus my birthday is when winter regionals happens so yay :)

I'm happy. Note that we should be more surprised it's three instead of four than the fact it's changed.

Regional Championships

Beginning in 2011, North American Regional Championships will now take place multiple times per season. In the 2011-2012 season, Regional Championships will be held in mid-November, and again in mid-April. Our goal is to create more opportunities for players to attend “destination” events than in the past. In the long term, we hope to hold such events throughout the country each quarter. Visit the TCG Regional Championships page for more information.

I think I know what's going to happen next year....

Yeah. now I can wiff cut 3 times. XD

I know that feel bro. My first regionals was this year, I was 5-2 and then I got donked on the 8th round. Ended up 46th or something.

Well colour me surprised. This looks like I'll be busier thn ever, but in a good way :p. Of course this for you guys in the US, and down here is Australia we can push all of the 'end of the month' stuff to the start of next month, and cut out regionals. :/

But overall, this looks like a lot of fun! :D :)

Oh wow. This is going to be great. Too bad New Mexico will be like 3 states away from all of them...

EXACT SAME AS ME! This year was my 2nd Regionals and I was 4-2 after losing 2x on bad luck. Last round I'm paired against this "Alex Hedge" kid (hmmm who could that be) and he donks me outta cut. I STILL Hate him Oops ~glace

This means more chances to go to nationals, but that's just gonna make it more difficult with more players and more strategies. And wont it cost A LOT more money? Prizes better be good, if not decent.

No it's not. It's the same number of Regionals as last year but spread out over another weekend. Prizes will probably also stay the same as last year.
