I wonder why Mewtwo and Kyurem as mascots. They aren't related anyway... But seems like a cool set...

As Unova is meant to be a re-boot of the franchise, and takes various elements from Kanto, they probably wanted to get 2 legendaries that hadn't seen that much spotlight in previous sets to be the cover pokemon, and get the FA's. Mewtwo is probably the most well-known Kanto legendary, and Kyuram probably won't get a FA in Red Collection.

This is all speculation of course.

Man it has been a long time since Mewtwo was in a set XD. Looks like the set will be good and I hope we will pick up this set soon.:)

Mewtwo and Kyurem....totally awesome. can't wait for the cards to arrive in America, when ever that will be. can't wait to see the cards from these sets :]

Given Kyurem is getting its own set, yeah, I doubt we'll see a FA SR Kyurem in Red Collection now.

My idea with the use of Mewtwo and Kyurem is that they're the last NON secret legendaries of their respective regional dexes from generation one and generation five. Pretty neat idea, also probably to tie in with the 15th Anniversary in some way there with a whole 'beginning to end' thing. (That and a fair bit of anniversary merchandise is coming out in September for Pokemon, so, it works?)

There will only be FA Thundurus and Tornadus "Full-card art cards of the Legendary Pokémon Tornadus and Thundurus". What I wish they made is Victini full art bcz idk it would look nice. And why don't they colour cards as elements like, grass pokemon would have green card, but they're colouring thundurus and tornadus both in white!!(sucks).

I have to say, FA Charizard would look pretty epic.(And this is coming from someone who isn't really a charizard fan)

But I'm looking forward to what they'll do with some of the old cards.(hopes for full art absol, but that will never happen)

I second this, and so would my sister if she was here. Absol is so epic!

I'm.. not sure I follow. You're perhaps getting your sets confused? Tornadus and Thundurus are the FA cards for the next english set. In Japan, White Collection and Black Collection gave us a combined total of four FA cards: Zekrom, Reshiram, Thundurus, and Tornadus, all last year. Red Collection in July we're not 100% sure on who is getting what, FA wise, but it's likely going to be Victini and Landorus given Kyurem is getting a set feature in September now.

As for colouration: they are, in the case of those two, weather elementals with wind and clouds, so.. The important thing that isn't carried over so well right now in the english prints of them, physically, is the texturing which with the holo really makes them more of a silver in the backgrounds (+ yellow for Thundurus):

I think if they'd of been a mono, or a duo tone, they'd lose effect, but that's just my opinion :)

I agree. FA Charizard would be awesome. (Actually, any Charizard in this set would be awesome. But FA would be more awesome.)

Good point... I didn't remember that...

I've been patiently waiting for this set. I'm excited for a possible power creep like what SW-On had when D/P came out. Maybe some real drawpower or even better Supporters. :3

I think that a power creep is the last thing this format needs. It's just about to slow down, can't people leave it at that? I like where the game is heading, a slower, more strategic format where every deck has a chance at being great, without worrying about donks and decks that outspeed it.

Back on topic, I wonder if the names of the sets will affect the Pokemon that appear in them, at all. for instance, if Water, Ice, Dragon, (and possibly more) would be more abundant in Hail Blizzard, where more Psychic, Dark, Ghost, Poison, (and mossibly more) would show up more in Psycho Drive. Wouldn't that be interesting… type-specific packs!

The slow down is nice for a couple sets, but at the end of this year, I'll be wanting another change. I have a feeling future sets can deliver that. Donks probably won't happen for another couple years, just like with what we last had these last couple months. :p

Please please pleeeeaaaassse print another gengar and luxray in this September set! If japan gets this in september, any idea when we will see it?

I for one think that Mewtwo will be a secret rare rather then a full art,but if he isn't the SR.....Who will be?

Good question. We don't really know what the pattern of them is, as we've only seen Pikachu. But, I've heard (and believe) that the Secret Rare's are Basic (non-legendary) icons of the First Generation. So, I'm predicting that in Red Collection, we get Meowth. So, therefore, I predict that, in Hail Blizzard and Psycho Drive, we will get, (and Meaty will be so happy to hear I predict this):

Psyduck.

Keep in mind that FA cards are SR's as well. Usually the feature 'mon on the pack (in Japan) is guaranteed an FA card.
