Looking at the map, I can definitely see that people in the Midwest are getting the shaft. Even more so for the people in Canada, since it'll be either Seattle or Newark. Even Mexico gets a better deal.

I really want that shiny Eevee, but I don't have the means or the money to travel too far from where I'm at. Well, I wouldn't be able to compete, since I'm not going to stay at a hotel, nor will I start driving at like 3 in the morning.

How far is it from Los Angeles to Phoenix? How long does it take, and how many miles is it? I might just be able to get there for the shiny Eevee, do a bit of sightseeing, then leave.
 
Yay! I get to go this year! I really hope I get to win, I've been training. Also these have great prizes, DSi for fourth place? Yippy!

Looks like population base was big factor in the decision.
