(1) World Champions Declared, Crobat's Attacks [8/15]

So the quick rundown of what happened @ Worlds
First(okay, sorta) Girl to win Worlds.
Second time Hiroki Yano has come CLOSE to get a SECOND Worlds Win.
Third place AMT of Pokebeach :)
Fourth time in a row Sami Sekkoum made T8.
Fifth time overall for Sami :)
Sixth time Luxray GL LV.X was in a worlds deck(assuming the Jumpluff list played it)
Seventh time Chris Fulop went to Worlds(i don't count if he went pre 2004).
That's a wrap.

agreed
honestly i wouldn't complain about a 3rd place Worlds finish, that's great and isn't this like only your 2nd or 3rd year playing?

No Mewtwo in the VG champ's team makes me sad. The winner being a Smogon user makes me even more sad.

...why?
Also,@Amt: 3rd=Win. Win=/=Fail. Therefore, 3rd=/=Fail. YOu did great, congratulations!

Well, as a crazed Mewtwo fanatic, I was hoping that the restricted Pokemon list would lead to a large group of people using Mewtwo on their teams and thus some kind of resurgence to his fanbase, one sorely needed when Nintendo is doing all they can to promote the newer-generation Pokemon and the older ones get the shaft.

The other part is a bit of rage at Smogon's tier system (mainly the outlawing of Ubers, evasion clause, etc.) - restricting the game beyond what is available to the player and then having that become the norm just doesn't seem right to me. (I have the same issue with Smashboards existing, and still hope to this day Nintendo would run official tournaments and force all items on, all stages on, and give out huge prizes, beyond anything Smashboards user-run tournaments would have, to force them to play the game without their own limitations.)

Hence I was hoping a US player that had heavy distaste for Smogon would win.

...though if Ray comes out and says "Hay Nintendo, my entire team was Pokesav'd and you can't do anything about it, gg?" after he's gotten all the prizes and Nintendo has no recourse, that would come in a pretty close second as far as epic wins that could come out of the VGC.

I believe Nintendo allows PokeSav, because as long as the Pokemon isn't hacked with illegal movesets, 252 EVs in each stat, etc., it's still legal. I feel like I read that somewhere. IMHO, hating the outlawing of ubers and evasion is kinda silly, because the game isn't very fun if your opponent just uses Double Team six times then sweeps you. And it's not just Smogon, I mean, we do it here, too ;)

If you let your opponent set up six Double Teams...

Honestly, it's a part of the game players should have to deal with rather than just say "no, we don't want to honor that part of the game so we're not going to do it."

And you may do it here, but Smogon (unfortunately) gave it the legitimacy to stand up as a method of play.
