Pokemon 1000 pokemon theory

Some where, I think that specifically the trivia in chat for the site, I read that there were orignially supposed to be 100 pokemon in pokemon red version, but they changed it. We've already had 4 generations and why should nintendo cut pokemon since its selling so well? So I guessed that Nintendo is gonna keep making more pokemon until they reach 1000 or so pokemon, revealing some key clues to pokemon as they go along.

What do you think?
 
It'll probly just keep going until pokemon becomes a thing of the past ,which won't happen for forever, so I dunno.
 
iono... i mean 4th gen. already has Arceus, the supposed creator of all pokemon, so i guess either thats it, or... i dunno
 
the more the merrier!! lol. though arceus was revealed already, it does not seem to mean that 4th gen is the last gen. maybe, there are more pokemons to be revealed that will be related to the "creation sumting." and there are so many questions surrounding pokemon that are still unanswered.
 
This 1000 Pokemon theory may be right, but I think it could also be a certain number of generations. I hope it goes on for longer though.

If the theory is right there will be about 6 more generations of pokemon. Of course, there is still the revamp of GSC to look forward to.
 
The "god pokemon" kind of symbolises to me that it might be the last. But they will keep going for as long as they can make money out of us. They might eventually run out of ideas.
I reckon that there are probably pokemon that got created but were not used because they were not really that good. Maybe if they altered these pokemon they would be included (for all we know, this has already happened). If they are planning a 5th generation they would probably have already started the designs already. These things take time.

Well of course they take time. If they are making a 5th generation (which they probably are, theres so much money coming form pokemon, why shoudl they stop?), they would release it probably in 2009, and for 2008 we'll get a couple of spin offs and the anticipated GSC revamp! This would be a wise action.
 
The 4th gen is great, but anymore and my head will explode. I think they need to stop around 500 or so. It's just too much.

If they make more, I'll probably be interested but I wouldn't touch a new game. Just too many.
 
It would probably end in the 5th generation..
too much pokemon can corrupt there business..
they should ake a new idea and game...

but same thing happened with mew... wasnt mew supposed to be the creator of all pokemon or something? i mean now arceus is the pokemon god, which overlapped mews job (i guess)... so why wouldnt the creators make another god? maybe a goddess? or maybe the god of gods? u know? like ot overlap arceus.... the chances are infinite...

one thing 4 sure, they won't run out of ideas for a long time... so dont worry...

i think there is a 88% of creating the 5th generation.... as long as it doesn't end here, i'm happy :)
 
They could easily make 1000 Pokemon. It's certainly popular enough to warrent 1000 of them, plus, Sugimori and Tajiri came up with around 1000 ideas for the 1ST GEN. Plus, they've said that they have plenty of ideas that they haven't emplemented yet, so the possibility of them ending the franchise at a 4th gen, or them running out of ideas is so miniscule that it's insignificant.
 
but u know... it eventually will end... they cant keep creating more and more pokemon... and to be honest, look at the quality of the 4th gen... i mean i love many of the new pokemon (actually buizel is my fav. pokemo) but there are others that just make me think, "what has happened to pokemon?" i mean eventually they either run out of ideas or just create too many.... i mean if we compare the 1st generation to the 4th... there is nothing to compare, the first gen wins by far. All im just saying it will eventually end....

and i find it impossible that they make 1000 pokemon!! i mean they MAY have the ideas, BUT they won't make them!! what are trhey expecting, that we catch all 1000 pokemon??

Okay. Point out just one Pokemon that you think is low quality or unoriginal in the fourth generation. If you can point one out, and give a worth while reason as to why it is low quality or unoriginal, I'll back down, but until then, you are making a very weak argument.
I think it is well within the realm of possibility that they could implement 1000 pokemon to be captured. Technology is growing exponentially now a days as far as memory capacity goes, so it's possible that in a few years games will have the memory capacity for that amount, so technological hinderences are really not a factor. Besides, having 1000 pokemon would add a lot of depth and possibilities for the battles, making them exciting and challenging.

Ok, yeah, sure the 4th generation Pokemon look cool and original, however, many of the Pokemon are just an evolved or baby form of old Pokemon.

I agree with you, but not completely. The first generation was the best, and the secound wasn't bad either. I miss the animalism, if you know what I mean, that the first generation had. The names where simple, and it was easy to reconize.

Personally, I think this will be the last game. I hope not, but it is possible. Just think about it, almost all Pokemon that didn't evolve before, has a stage now; every possible feature has been re-vamped and added to it; and theres one single Pokemon that can be all types. Personally,. it sounds like Pokemon is comming to an end.

However, I hope it doesn't end.
 
dunno. there are A LOT of Pokémon, so many that after a pair of gens it will be difficult to remember everyone, and the future kids would have to learn LOTS AND LOTS ANDLOTS of pokes at the same time
