(2) ‘Pokemon Smash’ Announcing a New Game, New Movie 15th Poster: Two Kyurem Formes, Meloetta Reveal

I don't see how the so-called "re-issuing" of the now famous idea of the original Pokemon games in order to reboot the franchise with BW is a bad thing. Sure, they may have used some similar designs to cut cookies but, these new treats have distinctly different and delicious flavor.

Don't hate on the design team, and don't hate on the games. I'm with Mitja on this.

I can't wait to get the bottom of this new Kyurem mystery!

Also, I'm feeling that a direct sequel to one of the greatest Pokémon games of all time, can NOT be a bad thing. I bet it'll be great! Pokémon knows what they are doing; they won't fail.

You kow, in hindsight, I shouldn't have been surprised. Didn't N ride off with his dragon and said he wanted to see more good things about humans and Pokémon, and Ghetsis just up and took off somewhere after Looker arrested all of the sages?

They're the villains (well, anti-villain with N) who have the least amount of closure. Giovanni directly said he would retire and disband Team Rocket in RBGY. G/S and HG/SS had a few splinters of Team Rocket with the player character destroying what was left of it. Archie and Maxie realize what they're doing isn't going to help anything in RSE. Cyrus swore revenge at his defeat in Spear Pillar in DP; this was continued in Platinum and he became trapped in the Distortion World.

But when N is defeated, he just leaves, and the same with Ghetsis when Team Plasma falls apart. They were defeated, but not soundly--indicating there's more to them.

It's just that no one anticipated this because direct sequels had not yet existed in the main series. (Some have existed in side series, but that's besides the point.)

nintendo may just want to release their next big games on the 3ds for 6th gen and im actually fine with that. But on the website there is a bigger less speculated topic. Why does it say No. of players: TBD or to be determined?

Yeah, that was brought up somewhere. It could be something special, but I'm fairly sure that's the norm for many games that haven't been that elaborated on. But it could mean some kinda Wi-Fi Plaza redo.

Sorry if the whole Kyurem being the shell left behind theory isn't confirmed, I thought he read it from a credible source. I just asked him and he's going to get back to me.

In response to this-
"They're not denying you the third version, they're trying to improve the concept. Instead of minor upgrades in a third version there will be 2 games with noteworthy changes for the first time."

Yeah, I'm not saying I won't like the game. There is a good chance that this is probably (and hopefully) going to be better than the typical third version. It's just not something I really wanted as a Pokemon player. :/ I would be perfectly fine if they just continued the normal pattern of releasing games. Maybe I fear change.

And as for the remarks about Pokemon's originality, I don't think it's increased or decreased over the years. A lot of people try telling me that the original 151 are the only cool ones, and I'm sorry, but these people are consumed with their childhood nostalgia. There are interesting and uninteresting Pokemon in every generation! Personally, my favorite is gen. II, but that's just opinion. ^^

Kyurem is obviously related somehow alright, we can still only guess whether its related in the splitting story, as they made sure there is not a single direct hint in BW.

Change is the only thing that is constant in the universe. Every moment we have changed from who we were. I have a hunch there is lots of drastic changes regarding how society functions coming really fast, but thats way too off topic LOL..

Just imagine the worst that could happen for BW2 and then there is no way you will be disappointed.
Like if they really didnt add anything except the forme.. Its still gonna be on par with Platinum kind of, so I don't really see how it can turn out bad, given that there was lots of places in Unova that feel unfinished or empty.
I bet there will be some interesting upgrades to the Battle train at least too lol.

I understand that most people don't appreciate every single pokemon, like I do, because there is such a big variety, allowing everyone to like at least some of them. You got scary epic monsters, cute fairies, cliche personifications, but always with interesting design twists, shape and colour combinations, and so much personality.

What I don't like seeing is when people attempt to compare them by generation.
You cannot just pack hundreds of unique creatures on the same bunch and say "these hundred are better than the the other hundred", because its always a huge mixed bag of everything. And the only actual differences are what kind of approach they were the result of.
Like, was it about a fresh start with lots of basic concepts redone (ie Kanto, Unova and Hoenn more or less), or was it about adding new stages, exotic stuff and exploring legends on a deeper level? (Johto, Sinnoh)
Or you can obviously compare things with the same core basis, like starters, fossils, main legends...
:3

I seriously doubt people have all hundred pokemon per generation in their mind when they make comparisons, so its kind of pointless XD

The reason I don't like this game so much is not because I don't like the idea but because I hate Unova. If I had to rank the worst games I've played in order from worst to best, Sonic Unleashed for the XBox would be at the top, Pokemon Ranger 2 would be the second (haven't played the first) and Pokemon White would be a miniscule bit below that. You can't really blame me of being a 1st gen only lover; I've only played Gens 3-5 and the only true exposure I have to playing Gen 1 is a match or two or Pokemon Online which I positively hated. I disliked basically everything about White. It was pathetically easy, didn't even attempt to display originality or creativity, imo caused the competitive scene to take a turn for the worst, etc. etc. They're calling it a direct sequel, but how much different can it be? Its not introducing any new Pokemon besides two new forms to a legendary which really doesn't matter to me since I don't use them in-game and don't play Ubers much competitively, the main villains are going to be the same (maybe you'll play as N or at least have him by your side, but Ghetsitis hasn't changed so Team Plasma will likely end up looking the same way if he tries to recreate it), maybe we'll have new gym leaders but all of the Unova Pokemon were old the second I saw them anyway and Pokemon from old gens hardly add any sense of newness to the table. I'm braced for the worst all right and the worst is if these games were the same as BW1. I pretty much up and decided I wouldn't touch Gray unless there were drastic changes; the same applies with these and nothing yet has looked very drastically changed.

Of course they don't look drastically changed. There hasn't been a lick of info aside from the formes and fact that they're sequels.

Yeah, and some people demand change. You're never going to please everybody when a franchise becomes sufficiently old and/or big--you will inevitably wind up with a broken base, which is exactly what we're seeing here.

That's actually quite interesting because Sonic Unleashed (360/PS3) would be the 3rd-best Sonic game I've ever played, with Sonic Generations and Sonic 3 & Knuckles above it. Of course, I got all of the DLC for Sonic Unleashed (360/PS3), so I generally see the game as the core out-of-the-box game plus this. (I've played 25 to 30 Sonic games--so I would put it above much of the Sonic series.)

This does not say anything good nor bad about me or you, just that you seem to look for different things to like in a game than me. (Where would you rank Sonic Unleashed for the Wii/PS2 and Sonic 2006?)

Hopefully they fix the transferred Pokemon from generation 4's capitalization error, so that Pokemon transferred from Generation 4 don't have the names GIRATINA and INFERNAPE so that people with OCD dont have to deal with having GIRATINA and Reshiram together in their team Lol

I'd put money on the new Kyurem forms being Ice/Dragon, but having different stats and Reshiram/Zekrom's signature moves and abilities.

I really hope these are direct sequels, not just the standard improved third version. I also doubt that we'll go back to Hoenn, but it would be cool as long as it's not like Kanto from the Johto games.

I have a feeling Pokemon Black and White 2 are going to be very great games, I just have feeling. I can't wait to buy it on the 3DS, all the new awesome features.

The only thing they will be revealing are the names of both the formes of Kyurem. I'll be surprised if they reveal any more info regarding the games.

I have a question sturring from when i first saw the new forms for Kyurem and there was something that i noticed...all three of the pokemon share a dragon type. Kyurem is a Dragon/Ice, Zekrom is a Dragon/Electric and Reshiram is a Dragon/Fire type. I was wondering if this could be promoting the first Tri-type pokemon. For example if the new forms of Kyurem are in fact a type of "fusion" then if Kyurem fuses with Zekrom to become Black Kyurem could that produce a Dragon/Electric/Ice type pokemon???

I really hope that isn't the case. Too many types on a single Pokémon is too confusing.

Agreed with Futa...plus, I'm not sure if the game's coding is able to do it.

I really doubt we will be seeing a triple typed Pokémon. Regardless, if it was coming, I'm sure there would be hints about it.

It's definitely not what's going to happen.

Reshiram and Zekrom are about energy generation, which is best represented by the types of Fire and Electric
Kyurem is the absence of energy -> cold -> lights out. But Kyurem is actually has frozen parts all over it, so Ice is much more important in that case.
It'll stay Dragon/Ice, first because they are "legendary dragons",and because it's still covered with Ice. A generator and torch-like tail would normally give it the energy types, but it can work without them.

What I'm wondering is whether it will get a different ability, since there is none hidden in BW.
It would be incompatible if they made a new one obviously, but the formes won't be anyway, so I don't know whether that's realistic or not.
If it did however get a new ability, it could very have something to do with temporary type changing. Or just another Mold Breaker...

Three types are a definite no.
