Well, I was thinking that its typing isn't changing too. They keep emphasizing it's the world strongest dragon, and we see lot of ice covering its body, no matter which form it's taking.

My guess has always been that Generation VI will begin in 2013, for the Nintendo 3DS. Then, if we get RS remakes at all, they will be in 2015. My predicted timeline has always been:

2010: Pokémon Black and White (DS).
2012: Pokémon Grey (DS). [Fair enough, I was wrong about Grey - but hey, who expected Black 2 and White 2? I did expect it to be on DS though].
2013: Generation VI Primary Pair (3DS).
2015: Ruby/Sapphire Remakes (3DS).
2016: Generation VI Third Version (3DS). [Third Versions/Expansions have always been released four years apart]

If GameFreak were going to move to the 3DS during Generation 5, they would have done so with Black 2 and White 2. However, for those who feel that this generation is being "rushed", please remember that Generations I and II were only three years in length. The reason why I feel GameFreak have decided to make Generation V smaller, aside from the parallels they are making between this generation and the first one, is this (from Iwata Asks' Black and White edition):

GameFreak want to end Generation V on the Nintendo DS, because if they moved to the Nintendo 3DS, then had to work on Generation VI on the same console, this problem would occur again. The fact that B2W2 are being released in June in Japan and internationally in Autumn serves to help prove this - 2012 is the year of the DS' "last stand"; there is still a chance to sell DS games this year, but come next year, it will be all about the Nintendo 3DS.

Heck, if Victini hadn't been used in the movie 14 pair (As it was distributed worldwide when BW was released), we wouldn't have this problem. Keldeo would have been in M14 (2011), Meloetta in M15 (2012) and Genesect in M16 (2013). If anything, it seems like the movie team done goofed by giving Victini its own movie.

Just notice that could the TCG be a hint toward Kyurem's nature, Kyurem vs Mewtwo? Because both have something to do with DNA?

I am really crossing my fingers for a ruby sapphire remake! I would looove a ds version :) I want to se the meloetta mini movie so bad, I love the pikachu shorts a lot and I miss seeing totodile, psyduck, togepi, and a few others. Hope this movie can make it to US theaters....although not likely :/ I hope gen 5 can stick around a bit longer though.

I'm actually prefectly fine with Gen 5 being shorter than other Gens. However, I'd hope the next Gen was mainly full of really-needed evolutions and linking Pokemon (a similar pre-evolution to Milktank, Taros, and Bouffalant maybe?).

This is cool! Could this end up as proof that there are more then one Zekrom/Reshiram (If they were good in the first BW movies, why give power to the bad guy?)?
I'm curious about these new forms.....

Hopefully I won't fall asleep towards the end of the movie like I did for the Victini one. That movie was just a disappointment. I'm expecting Kuyrem to be the villain, he just looks evil.

If Kyurem is the movie's actual villain (and not some misguided, dumb human)' then this will probably be one of the best pokemon movies ever. :p

It would be cool to get Gen VI earlier though... And now that some people mention it, it is quite possible that the Ruby and Sapphire remakes will be 3DS. There has already been remake games on the DS (Heartgold and Soulsilver), so maybe they're basing remakes off of systems and not Generations? I don't know, but it's just a thought.

I personally think the Ruby/sapphire remake will be next generation (if there are any at all) because having another main game for DS would really be stretching it (and we know that if the RS remake are in the 5:th gen it WILL be for DS). It also would mean that we would likely get a remake for diamond and pearl next generation and that feels way to soon since it was on DS. Otherwise its usually one console between (at least if you count game boy and game boy color as different consoles)

Well, now some people can stop saying (or doubting) Kyurem isn't related to Reshiram and Zekrom or that the formes are separate Pokémon and not Kyurem formes.
The fact the summary says Kyurem was born at the same time as Reshiram & Zekrom confirms Kyurem was part of the single dragon. And the Lacunosa Town legend is, at least, wrong. Also, since it says Kyurem has R&Z's DNA and can become Black or White Kyurem probably means it doesn't need the other two around to change formes and can change at will (also, if Reshiram and Zekrom were to appear in the movie, we'd probably already knew). How that will be handled in the games, I'll wait to see.

Still, there must be some reason for the Lacunosa Town and Giant Chasm existence. I was thinking (although it may sound dumb) that (since it was never indicated where the single Dragon split, afaik) when the original dragon split, Kyurem (being the leftover) crashed near Lacunosa and people could have misidentied it with a comet or something... Don't know if this has any logic but that's my guess...

It's also interesting that the official site refers to Kyurem as the strongest Dragon when it's actually the weakest dragon with more than 600 BST. By saying it's on par with R&Z, I guess its new formes will at least equal R&Z's 680 BST (or maybe even surpass it).

And YAY Kyurem seems to be evil. Although, as usual, it probably has a reason for pursuing Keldeo and it has been said no pokémon is truly evil...

Now that we know Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 will be released in the US this fall, now I'm wondering exactly when the Kyurem movie will air?

How do we even know that Generation VI will come out in 2013, and thus Generation V will be a shorter generation? For all I know, we are already almost 2 years since Black and White released, and each generation, barring first and second, have a lifespan of 4 years, so I think this is normal. If Black 2 and White 2 last 2 years as well, or they release another Gen V game in late 2013, we then have 4 years worth of Gen V, much like Gen III and Gen IV.

Another thing is, how does this Kyurem sucking energy/fusion thing work? Does Kyurem suck up both Zekrom and Reshiram's energy, and he can freely change into any forme, or is it that he can suck up only 1 of the 2 dragons' energies at one time, and when he wants to switch, he returns the energy, thus restoring either zekrom or reshiram, so he can become white kyurem or black kyurem respectively?

Okay, I think that Meloetta just became one of my fav's. =3 It's cool though how they're bringing back mini-movies. I hope that they bring it to US theaters again! (And Canadian theaters too! Why shouldn't THEY get the fun of seeing a Pokemon movie with AWESOME over buttered popcorn?) But on the downloads, I'm still wondering WHY we don't have Golurk/Hydreigon and Reshiram/Zekrom... <=(

I'm hoping to see some well thought history of Kyurem, Zekrom, and Reshiram, akin to Arceus, the lake trio, and the dragon trio.

I have a feeling that since Generation V was a "reboot" of the series, Generation VI will be its "Johto" of sorts.

People, you don't actually want remakes of RS if you think hard enough about it.
Think about it. You want a NEW game in Hoenn, not stupid remakes.

On one side everyone is like oh geez greedy gamefreak for making third version blah blah, and on the other its like RS remakes are OBVIOUSLY next. not.


About Kyurem.
It's Dragon/Ice, not Ice/Dragon. Its a Dragon before Ice. They're all three dragons. Yes, I care thank you :B

Could you stop with the speculation of forme types that excludes Dragon like it's some random extra?
If it turns into a pancake I guarantee you it will stay Dragon if anything.

I chose N because he's the human character who would be most associated with Kyurem, as he was with Reshiram and Zekrom.

Besides, I'd think stuff like this would be awesome.

Hm... Although we don't have Sugimori's art for Meloetta yet (pehaps it'll be the "surprise" in this month's CoroCoro, along with its Pirouette forme?), it may be safe to figure its Sugimori art will feature one of the poses of its stock movie art like Keldeo did. If Meloetta's art is like most Generation 5 art, then it will match its in-game sprite, meaning this pose is exactly what Sugimori's art will look like (just colored in Sugimori's style). Though Keldeo's art was featured in a much more dynamic pose than its game sprite, so it's completely possible Meloetta's art will be something else entirely.

On the topic of Kyurem, calling it the "strongest Dragon on Earth" is a pretty hefty title. I would think Dragons that control time, space, and a reverse dimension would be "stronger," but perhaps they don't count since I guess they could be considered the strongest Dragons of their own dimensions. Regardless, I like the hype they're giving Kyurem.

I'm sorry if anyone disagrees, but I'm very unhappy with the Kyurem form designs- I feel that a five year-old could have drawn the faces, however, I'm gla their coming out so fast. Like so many people, I'm hoping and speculating that RSE remakes will appear soon too. I need bought RS or E, and I regret it...

It would be nice if they added some past-gen evos, but someone would have seen that in the programming already...
