Now that we know Skrelp and Clauncher are version exclusives, I get the sad feeling they may be non-evolving one-off wimps, but we'll see. I'll still use Skrelp if that's the case.

Majority of the version exclusive Pokémon have been able to evolve in the past. I also hope they evolve; as for Clauncher, I think he will at least have one evolution (like Krabby and Corphish).

I'd be willing to bet my left Seedot that Clauncher gets an evolution. Skrelp probably too.

I just saw the new evil team.
I can't believe in 2013 that antagonist's with a goal of getting money are still being created. This is ridiculous.

Can't wait to see how Yveltal's Death Wing is localized. Because it will, no doubt.

Sensitive Westerners...

Not a big fan of the legendaries now. They seem a bit bland with what they do and their types, like 3 or 4 other Pokemon do those exact same things. Maybe the other legendaries will be more original.
However, the thing that I dislike the most is Pancham's evolution. You do not know how much I was hoping for it to evolve into a punk-panda with a colorful mohawk!
Also, the enemy team seems rather bland. Isn't their goal exactly Team Rocket wanted, but without the petty crimes TR did? However, I like how they are wearing orange business suits, it seems like they have some other goal than just getting rich, possibly related to the DNA theme?...

The more information that comes out for these games, the more positive I am that the overall theme will be life and death.

Xerneas is called the Life Pokemon. Yveltal is called the Destruction Pokemon. I don't think there's any debate at this point on whether life and death is the the main motif.

One thing I've been disappointed in the releases so far is the fact that, besides Sylveon, we haven't seen any new evolutions or pre-evos for old pokemon. It would be kinda mean (IMO) if they make Sylveon the only one because ever since they released Sylveon early, it had given me hope that more pokemon would get evos. PARTICULARY, my little one stage buddies who are overlooked cuz they're "weak" ie Spinda, Farfetch'd etc....I really hope that they start showing some soon, it would be awesome if it's like Gen 4 and has a LOT of prior pokemon get evos/prevos...One can wish, eh?

This a thousand times this!

I like most of the new pokes, but I really want to see GF expand upon previous gen pokes that need evolutions. My good RL friend and I always discuss the pokes that most deserve it and wish every time there's a leak or a CoroCoro update that there is info about older Pokémon (minus Mewtwo's new Forme).

But I understand that GF wants to showcase the new pokes and especially the fairy type ones more than new evos for old ones.

I have mixed emotions with this issues leaks.

Goronda is awesome, very intimidating Malimar is the beast (I hope it has great stats), I couldn't conceive the idea on a Psychic/Dark squid, and I sketched many, MANY MANY fakemon that would fit the description and I didn't come up with anything that could be "buyable"; Malimar is just plain awesome, period.

The cutesy pokemon, including Inkay are good. I am willing, as I think many others in this thread do. that Shushupu evolves into a badass bipedal (or maybe levitating) Fairy/Dark plague doctor.

I DON'T like the nerdy Gym Leader. On the plus side, I makes me remember Mousse from Ranma 1/2 (by the way, I'll name my Goronda Genma hahaha). I'm expecting it to be electric or steel. The other gym leader is okay I think. I'm hoping for it to be dark, because, for God's sake, we've had like 300 Rock-type Gyms in the past 5 generations, and I'm fed up already of those haha (so as water)

Professor Sycamore battles you! ~_~ And also, someone pointed out that Sycamores are commons in France, alongside Oaks. OAKS!! Gimme my Squirtle ~_~

Lastly, I don't like the evil team. Looks childish, even more than old plasma (the ones that look like soldiers)

P.S.: Time to see Mandibuzz evolving into Yveltal xD

Poke Reviews (remember this is my opinion)

Goranda: Don't like it, seems way too simple and the fur cape looks odd

Shushupu: I thought it was a flamingo at first, I like it so far.

Inkay/ Malimar: I only like inkay, malimar looks ugly

Peroppafu: I like this oddly enough, it's simple and to the point meaning it has endless possibilities to what it can turn into (if it even evolves).

Characters:

I like the inventor gym leader and the other guy too

I even like the new evil team.

The Fairy-type Pokemon seems okay, but I, for one, wouldn't use it on my team (Unless they have excellent evolutions). The rest of it seems okay, nothing exciting. I'm really disappointed that Yvetal is Dark/Flying type (a common type). However! I'm excited to see two new gym leaders, I obviously can tell which type they're specialized in. The yellow guy is electric-type user. The dark-skinned guy is, looks like to me, a rock climber, take your wild guess. ;)

I'm actually really liking Shushupu after people pointed out its inspiration. Its cute, and yet very dark. I hope it gets a nice evolution. With it being based off of a plague doctor, it has great potential. I might end up using it on my team. And since it and Skrelp are both Y, I think I will end up getting Y.
There are so many cool dark types this game. Chespin's evo (which will hopefully be cool), Yveltal, Pangoro, Malimar... Its going to be hard to pick one, I like them all.

For some reasion I think that the guy (Citron?)wearing yellow and blue might be a steel type trainer as well, as robot often represents steel and he has those robot arms coming out of his back like Dr.Octopuss as well as his name having "tron" (from electronic or the common suffix in robot names). As for the other gym leader, I'm not sure, but I think her hair decorations may be important, they remind me of Sableye, which sort of fits in your rock climber prediction. However, I like her design, but the guy with blond hair seems meh, I was hoping for the electric and/or steel leaders being two people (who work in the same gym) who dress up like robots.

Oh man..., I'm so conflicted! On one hand, I can't wait for October 12th to get here, but I also don't want school to start!

I'm loving all the new Pokémon. Pancham's evo is exactly what I was hoping for. Inkay and Malimar look cool too, definitely something I would consider using. I'm not hating the two new fairies either.

Super exited about Xerneas' and Yveltal's typing. However, Xerneas has a clear type advantage. I'm pretty sure they're going to counter this by making Yveltal much faster than Xerneas. I'm super-stoked about the life/destruction angle. I wonder how this theme is going to play in with Team Flare. If their goal is simply to get money, I don't think they'll be too similar to Team Rocket. Team Rocket always struck me as a band of thugs who managed to organize themselves to bully the region on a larger scale. Instead, Team Flare's suits look like work uniforms to me. Given the life/destruction theme, I hope Team Flare is some sort of soul-less corporation who plan to use the legendary to extort the Kalos region/gain an unfair competitive advantage. Something like a rogue Wal-Mart lol.

I agree that Zakuro appears to be some sort of rock or ground or steel type gym. But, then again, remember, Crasher Wake likes to wrestle, but uses water types, and Brawly is a surfer who uses fighting types. Looks can be deceiving. However, I'm pretty sure Citron (Shitoron) is an electric type leader, given the fact he uses a Helioptile,. But, Citron is French for "lemon". Any ideas? Since he uses a Helioptile, a first stage Pokémon, can we assume we encounter him decently early in the games?

It seems like WPM's source was right on the money with pretty much all this info. Even Draining Kiss is a real move!

I hate the fact that, yet again, there's another new evil team... I mean, if the pokemon world really has crime syndicates in literally every single region, then they have big problems...

We haven't had any legendaries that are directly life and destruction before.
I don't really see how that's unoriginal.
For their types, its quite simple. Dark is obvious for Yveltal, I mean it's called the Destruction Pokemon. However for Xern, for me it looks like Fairy is the 'purehearted, good' counterpart to Dark's corrupted, evil side.
They're basically the best types to represent a 'good vs evil' theme.
(also, you say you don't like them anymore... I'm just guessing you're butthurt Xern didn't end up a Steel or Electric, or that your precious DNA theme didn't happen)

Altho it does make me wonder... what would the Zmon be? maybe it could be something that keeps Xerneas from growing too much stuff and Yveltal from destroying too much stuff?
Maybe there won't be a Zmon. Always a possibility.

It totally slipped my mind that the Draining Kiss move was one that was leaked a while back by the source. Awesome!

I think that's exactly what Zmon is gonna be. It'll be a pokemon that must maintain the balance of life/destruction in Kalos by either giving life or destroying thinks when appropriate. It won't be "good" or "evil" per se, it will simply have a purpose

Which could be death. Death is always written best when it is neither good or evil. Having life/destruction/death
