You can go to the HB/PD scans, enlarge the card and read who the illustrator is, and it's Mizue.

Ah, sounds like a new illustrator. (Yeah, I forgot the illustrator credits were in English. And that the Japanese scans can be enlarged.)

Something I noticed is that every Pokémon EX card so far is a Legendary Pokémon. Does that mean no hope for Drifblim EX, which I had been hoping for ever since Diamond and Pearl came out?

I think he might have been the illustrator for Granbull CoL and the bad Reuniclus NV.

In all seriousness, looking at the way things are going now, I don't know if there will be much hope for non-legendary Pokemon-EX. PCL has an obvious love affair with legendaries (Reshiram and Zekrom in particular, and I shouldn't have to explain this), and combined with the fact that they're trying to cater to little children (who imo shouldn't be playing the game, but I'm aware of how controversial my opinions are), it seems like legendaries are the way to go if you want it to sell. There's hope for other popular Pokemon perhaps to become EXs (like Gallade, Lucario, or maybe something wacky like Hydreigon), but for a guy like Drifblim, he'll probably stay forever in the back.

...I think my disdain for TPCi's marketing division is showing.

At the moment, the chances of a non-legendary EX turning up is small. You've got about 45 Legendary Pokemon in the whole of pokemon. So far, the number of those who have at least 1 EX is about 12. Zekrom, Reshiram, Kyurem, Shaymin,Regigigas, Kyogre, Groudon, Darkrai, Tornadus, Entei and Raikou have become EX's already. We've then got about 33 left. Which could fit into about 5 to 7 expansions depending on the spread, assuming no legendary gets a second EX card. It may be a long time before we see a non-legendary EX but if it does happen, let it be to popular pokemon at least.

Aw, darn. I'm seeing Reshiram-EX and Zekrom-EX here (and I know there'll be a Kyurem EX) and then I realized that there hasn't been a modern EX card not based on a Legendary Pokémon. (No Suicune-EX?)

I remember when they'd grant Pokémon-EX cards to seemingly random fully-evolved Pokémon, like Wailord-EX, Dustox-EX, Mr. Mime-EX, and Magcargo-EX. Those were pretty fun, as I couldn't tell what would get an EX card next.

Well, at the very least, I can bet on a Latios-EX and Latias-EX duo to show up in the near future. They're adorable as far as jet-dragons go.

While I don't mind them making EX legendaries, I would really like to see other pokémon to be featured as EXs too, particularly Stage 2's.

Legendaries are more popular so, as has been said, smaller children will want them more than random non-special EX. However they should still make other EX cards, and I hope they will. I for one would like to see Archeops and Carracosta as EX cards.

Well, Hydreigon is a dragon floating on what looks vaguely like ghost wisps with a living sock puppet on each hand.

Those must not be very pleasant lives, those hands. Every time it picks up something that isn't tasty...

Hydreigon was originally supposed to be a robotic dragon, however, it was changed to the evil and strange monster it is today. If you look at Hydreigon's stomach, you can see to pink stripes that resemble tire tracks. Those were planned to be tire tracks if Hydreigon stayed robotic.
Hydreigon is a psydo legendary Pokemon, so he has chances. There are so many legendaries, though, and if all of them got a chance to be EX, at this rate, it would probably already be 6th gen.
If any non-legendaries become EX, It would probably be Pikachu, Lucario, Zoroark, or one of the last evolution Kanto starters (mainly Charizard due to it's extreme popularity).

Oh nice, decks featuring the Zeckrom and Reshiram EX will have pokemon catchers in them! Get that price down a bit. (Happy)

In case anyone hasn't noticed, Pokemon's set listing of Next Destinies states that the set has over 100 cards, while the set number goes up to only 99. This means that we're getting at least 2 Secret Rares in this set, and possibly all 4 from HB/PD (Hydreigon, Emboar, Chandelure and Zoroark).

I would definitely play that gardevoir :D I'd pair it with gothitelle.
