The only person that has gone back in time in a movie is young Professor Oak. And Celebi. It's a time-slip adventure for Ash and crew, so it's a first.

Hm... I dunno. I mean, it did create Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina, so maybe it has at least a little bit of their powers? Nah, it's most likely true that when it made them, it completely gave those parts of its original power to them... So yeah, it may just be the past Arceus they go and see when they time travel... Though, maybe two Arceus at once? ;D (Nah, that'd be weird.)
I wonder if this will be the last Pokemon movie and Nintendo will just stop doing Pokemon stuff? Maybe they were just pretending about the GS Remake hints to get fans all excited? Maybe they've been planning this since the First Episode of the anime? To do a final movie and then just stop? Maybe Pikachu and Ash will DIE? Nah, that last one doesn't seem to likely... Maybe they'll do this, but do the GS Remakes before the movie. Maybe they want to leave us wanting more? Maybe after this, Pokemon will just completely die out, and when you mention Pokemon, everyone will say "Pokemon? What the heck is Pokemon?" But if that does happen, there'll still be this website for hardcore fans (like me) who believe, to quote Harry Potter, "It's only dead to those who beleive it's gone." Or something like that...

In my opinion, Arceus never had those powers at all. Arceus has the power of creation. And stopping meteorites. It created Pokémon to control time and space, seeing as it couldn't do it by itself.
...Don't take my words for facts, though (as if you would). But it's the most logical thing I can come up with, so...

Well, in the Original Story, it says "from itself, two beings the Original One did make". So, I'd think it had the powers before, but released them into its new creations... But you may be right, as well.
Also, I've been thinking this over for a while... Wouldn't it be awesome (and fitting) if instead of another "Pokémon are everywhere, they come in many shapes/sizes" opening like they've used for the past two films, they used the Original Story, all drawn out and stuff? I think that'd be awesome. :0
