(2) More B/W Cards, Scans of 'Black' and 'White' Preview Tins

I haven't always organized my cards like this new way, but I have recently. It makes much more sense than rarity. I personally put Fighting before Psychic, and Colorless before Lightning, but it's still a very nice way to organize things.

After seeing a couple of the tin openings on YouTube, I'm going to get the Tepig tin and maybe the Oshawatt tin in a while. I love the promos, but I agree about the Purrloin. I've had enough trouble with them on White already, the last thing I need is more Purrloins.

FINALLLYYYY!!!!!

The TCG is becoming more and more like the Japanese version. :3

PS: Am I the only one that thinks these look like someone made them? (I know they are real, but they look like fake cards)

i am sad that the card designs are lacking in quality and detail

back to the solid yellow border is boring
wish they kept the hgss card designs and layout

I picked up the Oshawott tin yesterday morning. The figures are pretty small (the base is just bigger than the standard bottle cap). Shame the preview cards suck xD

I agree with ogeray.
I've hated the yellow border with a passion since forever.
They should have made it grey like the Japanese sets.

However, I am happy that they are organizing the sets by type now, like the Japanese ones.. although I don't collect the English sets. XD
My friend will be happy to hear this though.

yay, i guess im not the only one who mega loath the yellow border

dont know why they didnt just keep the hgss borders, or switch over to the japanese style borders.
i do hope the new holo backing extends to the borders on holo cards, like the japanese ones

anyways, does anyone know where i can file an official complaint about those ugly yellow borders?

Damn those figures are tiny, but they are nice. Love the new holofoil treatment. Also appreciate the Japanese set format finally coming over the ocean. Two things still bug me.

Ugly Yellow Boarders. I thought with HGSS we did away with that. I wonder if the RH's still have the Prime treatment.
Rarity symbols not being like the Japanese set. I was hoping we'd also adopt the C, U, R system.

The yellow boarders don't mesh with the new layout, kinda ruins the cards.

A few points:
- Loathe the border, like most of you all it seems. Japan did a bit more than just return to a neutral border with their BW-era cards, they are much darker than the DP/DPt ones, and they look very classy:

Edit: goodness gracious me, just realise looking at them side by side now that they've kept the JP border on the image window.. wow yeah that is beyond jarring. Not a great design brief there.

- Yeah, nice try PUSA, but that is not how the Pinstripe Holo works. Looking at the photo, the refraction in the lines has a 3D depth thing that was present in the original starry holo from base set which isn't present in the Japanese cards. And, of course, Japan use this holo for the entirety of their card, including the border. Reiterating my border hate, if they didn't change it they could have used the holo for them. That said, I will bide my time and when I can get one of the english cards in hand I'll see how good/bad it is verses the JP issue... I also noticed that the Japanese pinstripe holo uses thicker strokes, whereas the English uses finer, which is why the refraction is really different looking:

- FINALLY using the Japanese ordering system. I'm going to enjoy ordering an English set for the first time in years. Aesthetically it looks a lot better, too.

- Shame they're still using the old rarity system markers. The new ones are honestly quite nice.

Two steps forward, one step back, in a way, but a very good start nonetheless. I've got faith in the English TCG again. (Until I see them potentially butcher the secret rares, but they managed to not do that with the Alph cards, so there is hope.)

Looks like I'm in the minority -- I really don't mind the yellow border. :p Then again, my favorite card style is Neo, so anything that harkens back to the days of old is okay in my books! Although I must agree, viper.fox, the image border is kind of jarring when compared to the card border...on the whole, though, I'm actually a fan of the design.

This is going to be the first set I buy a box of that isn't Base-Neo Destiny, so I'm quite excited! The new ordering system is a welcome change, though I'm undecided about the new holo. I'll reserve my judgement until I see how it looks in the actual set (on the evolution cards).

I just want to add, I am a tad disappointed that the 'preview cards' are just commons from the set, not anything special, like a holofoil treatment. Kinda lessens my interest in the tins with my interest in purchasing a box or two. :(

I do like the tins and the cards but too bad they are common cards like Waspy said and I also hate that yellow border. I was so happy they had taken it out in their other latest sets, the cards looked um "fancier" imo. I always saw the border to make the Pokemon in the card either "trapped" or weird looking on some cases (like dark Pokémon, the yellow border deflects). Either way the cards artwork's are nice and looking forward to more new cards. I also like that they are organizing them with the Japanese system. :D

Wonderful...
Japanese way of organizing sets.
This is going to my spreadsheet a blast redoing...

The Japanese borders have always looked dull to me in comparison to the English yellow borders. I like that ours are brighter - makes them look more alive, or something.

I like the solid yellow borders better than The SP styled borders.
Grey does make the card look dull but Japanese cards are much glossier.
