(2) Phantom Forces Set List, Pokemon TCG Illustration Collection [10/23]

No one is disputing that point, but at the time of that post we hadn't been told about the M. Diancie EX box either. It wouldn't make sense for them to release that card and not Diancie EX. That means it would make the most sense to release this card in Phantom Forces unless we haven't heard about a Diancie EX box set coming out in the next two months. That can't be entirely ruled out thoough when you look at Garchomp EX box, Charizard EX box, or the upcoming Gallade EX box.

GadgetJax, you're right. Phantom Forces will be the first american release of Diancie as a card and the movie has not been seen outside of Japan yet. Only Australia and New Zealand have any theater release dates, to my knowledge no one else has any date for it in theaters or anywhere else. I was suggesting the same thing you said, that Diancie EX could be a secret rare, just like the gold bordred M. EX cards. It would be kind of stupid but certainly not out of the question. Really this set COULD be the first in a while to have five secret rares if they wanted to:

M. Gengar EX gold border
M. Manectric EX gold border
Diancie EX
Full Metal Dialga EX FA
Shiny Gengar EX

We still have no proof these last two cards are even making it into america yet of course.

It looks like there is a Diancie (card 71), but it's just not an ex.

I agree with Gadget Jax, enhanced hammer with Xerosic is just ridiculous. Not sure what to think about Goodra (assuming it's the tool lock one). It could be just what the meta needs in a garbodor heavy format (could also work with the pokemon that can take tools from the deck, bypassing the effect of Goodra)

That would be cool, and it would make sense. But somehow I have a feeling not. It's not the first time that Japan has gotten some cool tcg or tcg link product that we don't.

They tend not to count any secret rare cards toward the counts in the sell sheets. It's entirely possible that the "7 EX cards" line was just a typo.

Yes, it is possible that '7 EX' was a typo. The big question then is; when do we get Diancie EX? One would assume it would have to be before January because that is when we get the M. Diancie EX box. Unless they push that back or repackage it to be like the M. Metagross EX box.

As for Trick coin all I know is its a trainer card. It wasn't in Phantom Gate that I could tell and I can't place where it's from.

Sorry guys, what is the "Trick Coin" card?

I think it's that tool card that lets you reflip for the pokemon's attacks (kind of like Victini in tool form). Could be good with the upcoming Malamar EX or currently, Vanilluxe PLF.

Link to article below (it's called "foul play coin" in japan).

I'm just hoping that Imakuni will still be in the set as a secret rare, I doubt it will, but I can dream.

Wow I didn't even know the Flare Hyper Gear was holo. I wonder if these are going to shoot up like Lasers. Probably not, but they still look absolutely sick. Annnd Lysandre's Trump Card. Why? This is worse than Startling Megaphone, which I have actually gotten somewhat used to by now. Even worse is Enhanced Hammer reprint. I really liked it just in Extended because it created more diversity between the two formats. Seriously, a Level Ball reprint would have been infinitely better. Or SOME KIND of Pokemon search to make Stage 2s playable. T-T

It pains me to know for an undeniable fact that there will be too many 5ban graphics illustrations in this art book.

If you don't like Hyper Gear tools, then there's tool-blocking Goodra to ensure they can't touch your EX-es: the only pokemon they can be attached to.

^ Also, regarding Lysandre's Trump Card, adding a Pal Pad would make the battle last forever or until someone draws all their prizes/KOs all the opposing pokemon in play, as it will eliminate the deckout possibility unless the pal pad user blinks and decides not to put LTC back in deck, only to find that it's their last Pal Pad, which is unlikely to happen to the most serious TCG players. Such a broken combo that I believe needs an errata: LTC or Pal Pad, and not both. That way, the game is still in balance.

^ Also, with Enhanced Hammer returning in Phantom Forces after being released in the Japanese Gym Challenges as a Japanese promo card, I believe that the LTC/Pal Pad combo could make Rainbow and/or Double Colorless-based decks a bad idea when it comes to tournament-level play, as those energies can be quickly discarded, and will be a thing of the past, and any deck that runs them w/o the likes of Seismitoad-ex, Dragonite, among other item-blockers, will not keep up with the rest of the pack. To Deoxys/Thundurus, Big Basics w/ Garbotoxin, Fairybox, Strong-Energy-based Furious Fists decks, among other decks that use special energy, as well as tools: Prepare to go to obscurity: Phantom Forces has put you all to the "outcast zone". RIP, old pokemon TCG, as there is a new pokemon TCG on the near-term horizon, one that will not only change the BDIF, but make the new BDIF, whatever that is, the Most Superior Deck in Format...

Will that TCG Illustration art book get a English release? :)

I doubt it.

To order it appears you will need an Amazon Japan account, it is not accepting my Amazon login.
