(3) Exciting Battles for Everyone, Plasma Gift Set, BW8 [11/1]

One card that stands out for me is Keldeo, but only because it has the correct Weakness (in my opinion). Otherwise, I'm looking forward to seeing all the cards translated into English.

Those Full Arts are gorgeous. I just wish that Darkrai was playable. : /

And fjakfjeafklealfe @ Ghetsis. Thank god they are printing good supporters again, I just question how broken the thing is. Seems like it could really screw you out of some games. If someone plays that on the first turn and you don't have a supporter, well GG pretty much.

Whoopsie-doodle, WPM is posting his opinion in his News posts again. You silly goose~

That Bisharp and Serperior look awesome.

I can do what I want.

Darkrai is the fastest card in the format. Dark Patch and Colress Machine able? Oh heeeyl no. It sucks though.

Ghetsis. Is way too awesome. Thank you. Thank you.

Ghetsis is such a dirty, broken card. It's going to take so much skill out of the game. Instantly make you opponent's hand dead. Yeah, the first person to play one of those down is most likely going to win. Really excited for dead hands to decide almost every match.

I like that Tangela is clapping.

Professor Oak better have a different title then just "Professor Oak".
It does. Don't worry; we're good for Unlimited.

The official Pokemon card website has revealed all of the cards below; since the package is for beginners, most of the cards have basic effects like flipping coins, adding damage, discarding Energy, etc.

And yet...

Why can't we ever get good stuff like this!?

N already slightly filled that role.

Stoutland + Ghetsis for BDIF
go go go go go go!

In other news: We have the Autumn Deerling now, so where's the Autumn Sawsbuck?

....someone. Someone please tell me that Catcher getting reprinted doesn't mean it will stay in format after the rotation. That would be horrible x____x.

And, as everyone else said, Ghestis O_____O.

@DNA: Good question. I also wondered about that Catcher thing too.

anyway,
about BW8. I was expecting at least one of them (Deoxys or Thundurus) to be Plasma, not both, but I guess it's understandable. I also think the other Deoxys formes will be non-EXs, but still Plasma cards.
About TP gift set, the FAs look good. I guess it's a bit like the Tornadus/Thundurus gift set which had Landorus FA. Since Giratina is the FA of Plasma Giratina from Plasma Gale, the regular version of Darkrai will probably be in BW8, or at least be a promo soon. I highly doubt they will only release the FA version. The cards are not very good though...
Which brings me to the final subject, the 8 decks. The artworks are good but yeah, some of the worst cards ever for sure. Some pokémon are getting overused in these decks like the Gothita line, the Lucario line, Frillish and Larvesta. There many more pokémon they could have used instead of these.
I don't think (at least I hope not) they will make a filler set. It would break the EX pattern and we would end up with a very different set from the usual. I think they will spread these cards throughout the next sets.

Boundaries Crossed.
That is all.

Ghethis is ABSOLUTELY BUSTED!!! Hand knowledge AND you get to disrupt them and draw if you get rid of an Item. SERIOUSLY?! THAT THING IS GODLY TURN 1!!!

Also, this makes what, the 2nd or 3rd time Japan has gotten Catcher in a starter deck? WHEN THE HECK WILL IT BE OUR TURN?!

Except you get to draw cards with N... Yeah, Stoutland Ghetsis is just stupid. If this card isn't mistranslated or errata'd, I'm going to stop playing.

Either way it is still luck-based, no matter how you look at it. In the late-game, either card would probably leave you with a 2-card hand or so. The difference is that with Ghetsis there's no way you'll get a trainer. With N, you might get one. And you'll still need to try and topdeck something amazing.
N has always been a double-edged sword for us all since the BW-on rotation. We can restrict our opponents' hand size nicely, but at a cost to ourselves as well. It's an interesting card but we're all sick of it. Ghetsis? Something that SOYO just as well as N would do, but at no risk to us.

But yeah, I think Stoutland + Ghetsis blows my previous BDIF idea right out of the water...

If this card isn't mistranslated or errata'd, I'm going to stop playing.
Then stop playing, because there's a 0% chance either of those things will happen and stick.

Suddenly, Landorus EX.

...which is why I can't see Stoutland/Ghestis being all that good. Don't get me wrong, Ghestis is a fantastic card, but not with stuff like Stoutland.

Stoutland + Ghestis might be good, but I doubt it. It will probably be a repeat of the Gengar Prime scare where everybody freaks out and it turns out to be crap :/

People freaked out about Gengar Prime? Not in my area, they didn't...
And sure enough, at States it was nowhere to be seen. About 2 people in over 200 were running it, and neither did very well.

More like 10th or 11th, but yeah.

As everyone else said:
OMG Ghetsis
Stoutland + Ghetsis could be very interesting indeed...
Bicycle just became 98% more playable.
EDIT: Sooooooorry if I accidentally type something else I was thinking about.
