I understand, and I certainly trust your translation. Google Translate keeps telling me to throw my bills at a mountain. Or throw my bills until they form a mountain. Or get bills from the mountains. Whatever. I do have a mountain of bills in real life, so maybe Rowan is just telling me not to default on my credit cards.

Based on your translation, I agree that Rowan should require a shuffle. If they're separate clauses, it should have been rendered differently in the English translation. They should have said "shuffle the rest of your hand" to keep consistency with previous translations.

What I said was entirely correct, but the card is wrong

This probably won't get a full-blown errata, but hopefully we can at least get a ruling. And that ruling should be "yes, you always shuffle".

As for the mountain thing, there is a kanji for mountain and a kanji for bill. Mountain+bill= Pile of papers/cards.

Pile of Cards= Hand
Full Pile of Cards= Deck

That is the reason why I don't use internet translators. They can give you some really wacky translations. I use my kanji dictionary Takes more time but is more accurate and gives more options for translations.

I really hope we get a ruling so that shuffling would be mandatory with Rowan. After the mistranslation being found, I can't see any reason why the rulings team should/would keep the latest ruling.

One of these days I will sit down and learn enough Japanese to read Pokemon cards. I mean, if they're designed so that six-year-old Japanese kids can read them, I really have no excuse.

I imagine that it will come up at the next Rules Team meeting. I will prod PokePop about it just to make sure.
