3DS Discussion Thread

Ugh, the poptart. Definitely do not want. The colors don't go together at all, and neither does anything else. Even if it didn't have those problems, there's still something inherently wrong with putting polka dots on a game system.

I'll try to stop posting limited edition 3DS XLs, but I have to post these: the MH4 3DS XLs.

Sweet jesus. Between these and the FE 3DS XL, I really don't know which is my favorite. I mean...wow.

Also, in today's Nintendo Direct, MH4's release date for Japan was confirmed: September 14, 2013. That's cool, I guess.

*is dead

It's... It's beautiful.

...

And I can't afford it. :[

I mean like, even if I could, I don't think think I could bring myself to buy it anyways... It's the bestest 3DS I've ever seen, but I've no use for a Japanese system at this point. It'd literally be used solely for Monster Hunter 4... Still though, do want. Send it to America and I'd FIND a way to make the hundred dollars+ I would need.

Edit: I swear I'mma make a picture one day with me posing in the "ALL THE" pose, with Photoshopped 3DS XL's in the background and text akin to "I want ALL THE XL'S!". Every time a new one is revealed I want it, lol.

IM GETTING THE $200 POP TART!!!! :D I really want it :D, does anyone know if when you do the system transfer you can download animal crossing onto your old sd card? so i can have all my gba games and stuff from my old 3ds, and BTW if they announce the mario and luigi 3ds xl system at e3 ill take back the animal crossing 3ds xl and wait for that one

YuhyuhyuhYUH, another Pop-tart bro~

As for your question...I'm not really sure exactly what you're asking--you say you want to transfer to the 3DS, then to the 3DS XL or something, I dunno, I'm tired--but here is a video showing you how to do file transfers.

Thanks! that helped

and I'm only getting the "Pop Tart" for the sake of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, because I've been waiting for this game since they announced it at E3 2010

Anything for a Poptart bro.

So...I just so happen to have my graduation when New Leaf comes out. But that doesn't matter, since I'm getting the Poptart shipped...
...but June 9th is a Sunday. Best Buy says I'm not gonna get it until the 10th to the 14th, meaning that I'm gonna be behind all of my friends getting it...yes, I'll catch up, but I wanna get the shops they get at the same time so there's actually something to talk about, you know? >_>

Yup, I went to Target & Walmart and they both said that they wouldn't be getting the Pop Tarts, and I went to Game Stop and they said that had no available spots for pre-orders, and Best Buy said they are getting like 200 of them which I don't believe. but luckily there was one Game Stop in another Shopping Center that had some pre-order spots so I pre-ordered one, but the problem with Game Stop is that they don't take returns, so if they announce the Mario & Luigi special edition at E3, I'm definitely not getting that :(

I wouldn't say that's a problem...most tech stores (that I know of) don't allow returning opened items--they only allow exchanges for the same item.

I think Target lets you return pretty much anything within 90 days if you just say you aren't satisfied with it, though. So if you're really worried about a new one coming out, you could try calling a different Target.

So I kind of want to get Harmoknight. Animal Crossing is finally hitting that slow burn! The time I've been putting into it this past week was horrendously unhealthy, so I'm definitely glad it's becoming less... Obsessive of me.

Anyone here have an opinion on it? Still a good game like initial reviews were saying? Not worth $15, is worth $15? plox ansur.

So there's a new 3DS update.

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/06/new_3ds_firmware_update_600_11u_now_live

Among other things, the highlight for many is that, at least on EU and Japan consoles, Streetpass Mii Plaza has been updated and now has DLC. Four new Find Mii-esque games are now available for 5 euros each, or 15 euros together. For some people, trying to buy these games crashes the Plaza, which is something Nintendo is working on. That'd be my guess for why NA doesn't have it yet; though, that could be anything.

I don't StreetPass all that often, so the highlight of this update for me is Save Data Backup. Basically, when you go to launch most of your digital games, you'll now see a triangle in the bottom-left part of the screen that lets you access the Create Save Point or something button. Hit it, and bam, you can backup your save data. Okay, cool cool, that should have been in for a while, but what's really cool is that you can make multiple backups. Used to save systems like Skyrim that let you have many saves on hand at one time? From what I can tell, bam, you now have a clunky version of that for practically every game. This, in my eyes, is a real game changer for downloading retail releases; if you really wanted, it seems like you could maintain two different saves for XY, for example. It definitely isn't simple, as you'd have to go to System Settings every time you want to delete a save, but it could be cool for the occasional save switch. I'm excited. :D

I'm not sure the save data backup will allow you to keep two XY saves (or even two saves for any game that wouldn't normally have two); I think it's more likely that it'll act like a restore point, and when you choose to revert to it, whatever current data you have for that game otherwise would be deleted. Still, better than nothing I guess :U
I'm curious about that Streetpass DLC (which I can't get yet here in North America) since I've already cleared every room in Find Mii II and the Secret Quest. I get a lot of tags here at college.

Using multiple backup saves to have multiple files in games is a cool idea, however since you can't backup your saves of retail games, which I plan on sticking with, I won't be using the feature often.

Yeah, it works by taking the save point and overwriting your current data, but you can make a save of your current data before you do it.

<broken image, "Save%20Points.JPG" from my Dropbox>

Excuse the quality and flash, but this is showing two BIT.TRIP SAGA saves I made; one at 15:31 and one at 16:50. To actually restore the data I have to go Data Management, but there are multiple saves. :D

EDIT: Alright, so logically, games that have connectivity with other players don't seem to support this tool. Still, that leaves a lot of other stuff. :X

Not really sure what to think of the Mii Lobby Update... 15€ is really much for such casual "games"... <__> Only the shooter seems like an actual game, and the gardening thing doesn't seem to be a "game" at all... But I StreetPass people in conventions and I like StreetPass and if I don't get them I would feel kind of left out. Imo they should just cost 2€/each so 8€ for all would be an ok price...

Btw. You guys should seriously get Oracle of Ages & Seasons while they are on sale!

Apparently the new update also crashes if you play the Fire Emblem Awakening demo, too.
I'm more interested in the relay station update for StreetPass coming later this year. To make StreetPass more interesting, Nintendo is adding relay stations at free Wi-Fi places like McDonalds so you can StreetPass more people. Basically, your 3DS sends the data to the relay station, and stays there...forever so other people can StreetPass you. Visit it and then you can StreetPass other people long after you've left.

Awesomeness, That'll help as on April 13th, my 3DS got Stolen and with Luck on the 10th, I got it back and I'm more afraid to bring my 3DS outside of my Area now and since there IS a McDonalds near me, It'll help with me with the Mii Plaza

How do people have their systems stolen? I mean, I know stuff happens, but I don't see how it'd even be possible for mine to be stolen unless I was straight up mugged. If my stuff isn't in my pockets it's in a pouch/case in my hands. I never let ANY of my stuff out of sight. Not trying to say you don't take care of your stuff or brag or anything like that, I just... Don't understand. Kind of like people who somehow manage to smudge up their system. *shudder* Like come on man, take a cloth to it, and if you can't do that clean it with your shirt! JUST KEEP IT CLEEEAN. ;-;

Though I have to be overprotective of my stuff, I plop down all the cash for it. You'll have to go through me before you take my hard-earned $350+ XL... Okay maybe not, I don't want to die so here take it.

I GOT THEATRHYTHM AGAIN. <3

Long story short, was low on cash a few months after getting it last year and had to sell it. (I honestly don't even remember what for, which is funny because I know it was actually important.) Didn't see it anywhere for cheap so I just considered it done.

And then I downloaded the demo last week. And I was like, "dudemang I need this game again." That was Friday. I woke up Saturday. Randomly look at the Frys ad (something I never do). Bam. Theatrhythm. $20 on sale.

Ask dad to take. Get there. Have literally just enough spending money to buy it ($22 after tax). Score.

This baby is mine and it's not going anywhere this time. >=[ I just played One-Winged Angel on Ultimate for the first time since then... And it makes you feel boss. Hitting all of the notes is just an adrenaline rush. I love ittttt~
