RE: (3) Legends Awakened Scans, List, Info; Mystery Dungeon Missions - Mewtwo and Cel
I think I might be the only one here who likes the name 'Supreme Blast' better than 'God Blast.' 'God Blast' sounds Engrishy to me, for lack of a better term, perhaps because the term 'God' makes me think of church and gardens and boats full of animals that aren't Pokémon. (Hay guise, I's from teh WEST lol!) In terms of language, 'God' isn't an adjective-- And for one who's grown up to expect 'adjective-noun,' 'noun-noun' just messes me up.
(Still from teh west omg!)
I know that PUSA isn't beyond changing a name in the interest of being politically correct and all, but I think there might actually be a little more to it in this case. They didn't change the translations of Diamond and Pearl-- Palkia and Dialga are still often referred to as ancient gods.
I could be wrong in all my analysis, though.
Whatever the case, 'Supreme Blast' is still very much in the spirit of 'God Blast' when you think about word origins. 'Supreme' in English is an adjective originally meant to mean 'of a God'. A Supreme Being is more often than not a God. Supreme is Ultimate. Unfortunately, the word has lost its meaning through countless terrible marketing campaigns often involving soft-serve icecream and walnuts.
... That was way more long-winded than I had intended. Didn't mean to sound like a smart-alec, or start a darn Crusade for the name of that card.
What I really wanted to say (or rather, ask) was this:
Jirachi. 'Doom Desire.' If you use Doom Desire as your attack and your opponent retreats their Active Pokémon, does the new defending Pokémon brought out still faint at the end of your opponent's turn?
