(4) Red Collection Cards, Promos, HGSS-on Format, Super Pokemon Scramble [6/10]

Victini.... so many combos...

Victini with Beedrill UL or Azumarill HS means 75% chance of paralysis. Victini/Persian means major hand disruption (the next sablelock?) or maybe... Victini/Exeggutor/Jirachi/Shaymin? Victini/Volbeat/Illumise? Victini/Emboar/Magmortar? or Victini/Umbreon/Reuniculus? or... Victini/Politoed? when will I stop thinking of deck ideas...

Anyhow, Victini seems like it could be used in some (plenty of) fun decks, and Hydreigon is good. It has Emboar, Pachirisu, Jirachi, DCE, Typhlosion/Ninetales, etc

^I never even thought about Exeggutor/Victini. That could be a nice idea.

Haxorus seems really rogue to me, but I like it. Hydreigon's artwork is awesome, as is Victini's. I can't really speculate on what will happen to Hydreigon, but it would be nice with Mandibuzz. I might buy a box of this set.

All of these new cards look great. Despite the movie promos more then likely being really bad for the most part, they have some sweet art. The Red collection cards are shaping up to make fascinating set.

My favorite is the new Victini. Yes, maybe not the most broken ability, but so unique and fun to test and play with. Numerous combos including Sharpedo with strip bare, topbuner Magmortar, and the psychic Victini that can hit 120 for one psychic... the list goes on. Its fun to see new stuff that doesnt exactly power creep or ride the border of "broken", but makes the game fresh and flavorful.

I can see Hydreigon/Mandibuzz decks in the future. Lots of Special Dark/DCE will be played and I think it could be fast. I think that I will try to make a good Hydreigon deck though I fail at deck building.

Hydregion is going to be epic as well as haxorus! Im definitly going to buy this booster box when I get the money. Also does anyone know what bisharp's attacks were?

Yeah, that was my first thought. I currently run Simisear@4-4/Mandibuzz@3-3/Zoroark@2-2 in a Sniper deck, but Hydreigon, being only a normal holo rare where Tyranitar is a Prime, and that DCE League promo coming, I think I might have to totally rethink that deck.

Hydreigon, with DCE, isn't that slow either. However, getting DCE back and getting two in hand in the first place may prove difficult. I can see him needing Switch though.

I think Hydreigon is the only Pokémon so far that I've liked on the "whoosh!" backgrounds they've been using for most of the rare cards.

I agree with that. The Diamond and Pearl rares looked much better. Shandelure looks okay, but I don't like the "charcoal" lines they used to outline body parts. I think that Victini shows promise. It could let a lot of gimmicky Pokemon become fairly decent, with an extra chance to land a coin flip. Hydregion is a monster attacker. Two DCE, and it's almost game over with an attack and health like that. Picture expert belt.

The "Special Trunk Sets" are interesting. About 5 packs, a card case, and a promo. The Reshi/Zek promos are interesting. When I first saw them, I could of sworn that they were fake because they used America's Base Set packaging. When it comes to America, as much as I love Zekrom, I'll probably pick up the Reshiram one.

ZOMG... I can't wait til October, which will probably be when we get the red collection, I'm gonna save up to get a couple boxes:D

Wow. That Hydreigon and Haxorus artwork is sick. I'm liking Hydreigon's attack too. If you use Special Darkness, you can actually spread a bit of damage. Now attach DCE, and in two turns, (if you Rare Candy), you're dropping 40 damage bombs and doing 60, which is fair.

Wow. The cards look pretty cool. However why would they only release certain Promos at certain stores? That would make it hard for everyone to get the promo cards since you need to buy 4 packs on each buy to get that particular promo card.:)

Am I the only one who thinks Hydreigon's a crappy Pokemon?

4 Energy for 60 damage. Seriously? We don't live in Base Set days and even they had 4 energy for 60 damage back then. Nowadays, it's two energies for 60 damage and even cards like that are not viable. Kingdra prime does 60 damage for one energy. For 4 energy, you should expect over 90 damage. -.-

It's clearly the bench damage that makes it good. Really, the bench damage is worth about 2 coloured energy on its own. Adding 60 damage to the defending justifies the 4 easily, especially considering its ability.

I'm liking Hydregion/Mandibuzz too, it complements nicely with Hydregion since Hydregion has trouble staying against Machamps and Donphans alike, and Mandibuzz can take those hits no problem may be with a few Defenders. The Snipe also complements greatly as well, as 40+50=90, which are now standard HP for a lot of middle stages, and support like Ninetales.

It might need some tweaks, but the base idea is there.

Being resistant to Psychic also means that Gothitelle will not enjoy staying up front trainer locking either.
