BW/BW2 5th gen, good or bad?

A comeback? Were we having a petty argument? Why do you seem so mad that I have my own opinion? I feel that Unova is an interesting name for exactly the reason you dislike it: it's a combination of UNited states OV America. I don't see why that bothers you. But who said I "REALLY REALLY love it so much"? I expected you to tell me to marry it. I don't care for the name Isshu because of all the lames jokes about issues.

weeaboo.

From what I get, "Unova" is a portmanteau, like most other names in Pokémon, of "nova" (new) and "unity." I don't think the USA's name has anything to do with it. And yes, I do prefer Unova to Isshu, not least of which is that "Isshu" would be mispronounced by pretty much everyone not familiar with the Japanese language.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like a butthead. I do understand that everyone is intitle to there own option. I was just like.... well, I'm know to agrue for the fun of it. It just helps me to see why others like things.... I guess.... It's kind of confusing actually.

True, but i still don't think i'm saying Unova right. (' . .) I kind of saw the new part in it all ready.

These games were mostly enjoyable. Obviously, none of them I would consider "perfect", but this would go on the mid-lower level of the "good" scale for me.

I was mostly disappointed with the layout changes from HG/SS. I know that they had different teams working on the games at the same time, but still. The use of the bottom screen was still poor to me. The many pros outweigh the cons. I personally enjoy these games better than D/P (I think those should not have been made) and these really take advantage of the DS system the most in the graphics and animated sprites department. The completely new Pokemon make the games infinitely fun and I was really glad I didn't have to see a single Zubat in-game until after the Elite 4 are defeated.

dmaster out.

I personally love Black and White. i think some of the pokemon were pretty lame (mainly stunfisk and watchog) but some of the pokemon were so cool (Zekrom, Reshiram, Haxorus, Hydreigon, and Chandelure) and the final 2 changed VG meta-game with their awesome Attack and Special Attack stats. however, a lot of pokemon evolved later than in the other games. i mean, Fraxure evolves into Haxorus at lv. 48 (yes, i know this is quite low for a stage 2 Dragon pokemon, but still a little high). And don't get me started on how hard it is to get a Hydreigon. other than a couple issues with the pokemon, and the fact that is game is SO easy, i am alright with it, loving the fact that you don't even SEE a Gen. 4 or below pokemon until you beat the E4.

The only real problem I had with the game was that it is way too short. There's only 3 cities to visit after the E4. I prefer the days of playing Pokemon Gold, Silver & Crystas on my Gameboy Color 'cause you get to go to Kanto after the E4 and there's 16 gyms. Pokemon D/P & B/W is really lacking in that. The only other problem is that with 3 cities available after the E4, they try to fit as many cool Gen 1-4 Pokémon as possible. Dragonite & Tyranitar SHOULD NOT be able to be caught in the wild. Other than that, I'm enjoying the 5th Gen so far.

more on the sprites, i thought the Axew sprite was the best one in the game (he's doing a little dance!) and the worst has to be nothing. All of them were pretty cool. just some of them looked lamer than others.

More on topic (I heard the mods were out hunting for breakers), the game did have many quirks (3 unecessary towns) and a very, very linear path, and a serious lack of obstacles, but there were a lot of things that contradicted those quirks, such as the introduction of many things, including moving sprites and a new camera viewpoint. The game had a very great story with an evil team sporting a more devious and confident plan. Those totally made my game worth the $35. I give it a 7.5/10. not the best game in the world, but certainly not the worst.

Adding onto the evolution points, the fact that there was a massive level jump from in to post game was counter-intuative to having Pokemon evolve at lower stages. You could fully evolve all of your party without grinding before the E4. I suppose you could spend that experience on evolving some other dropped Pokemon but Haxorus evolving at lv. 48 and Hydriegon evolving at lv. 64 was a big gap for the hard hitters but I think the lv. 64 was a breath of fresh air, it wasn't too much that you had to drag it through the Elite 4 over and over again; and it was good enough to fight for itself against trainers given the right level. The higher level the Pokemon evolve at, the more determined you are to put more time, effort and thought into what the Pokemon learns, stats and moves.

I caught a Deino because I thought it was nifty and cool, after many pokeballs, yes, but I got one. I remembered I skipped a lot of trainers so it evolved at it's level 50 stage and thought if this was a step up, I thought the final evolution is gonna look awesome and it did. Now it's in my party for everything, transport, getting from A to B and knocking out anything that is too high for egg hatching lv.1's or any other low level things I have in my party. Larvesta I would consider the same but you can cath a volcarona and breed it so, yeah.

I was also kinda looking forward to mixing some of my favorite Pokemon from previous generations into the 5th gen. Then I find there is no rattata or pidgey's in the first patch of grass so my hopes were soiled. Of course, I would have caught more 5th gen that previous gen but it's just a place of opinion.

So am I right in thinking that if you introduce a few shiny moving things and different view points it will remove some of the games flaws?

It doesn't completely kill the flaws, but it makes the game bareable enough to play through a couple of times without thinking of it as a massive chore.

Good.
Gen 5 had to have the best story - tied with platinum (Not DP). Gen 5 didn't have the best pokemon, I admit. But overall, I found it brilliant.

My favorite is Scraggy because he's so proud to have pulled up his pants.

5th gen is the worst gen, by far. The Pokemon designs killed it. I can't even play Black/White anymore because I hate the designs so much. And the little things, like merging the Pokemon Center and Mart, also made me upset. Don't ruin a good thing, Nintendo.

I think of 5 gen as original and unique. B and W is to be my best PKM game yet. I'm not gonna argue.

Oh, yes it's very original. Just look at Alomomola, a heat-shaped fish! That's never been done before in the history of Pokemon! What's this? You can only catch Pokemon from this region before the Elite Four? Man, I wish Kanto had done that!

Many people hate the new Pokemon designs but guess what? You can still play your Old Pokemon on Gen 5 so it's not that bad. Yeah people complain about the PokeShifter but it's not that bad. After you've beaten the game and got all 8 Gym Badges, nobody is forcing you to run Unova Only Pokemon despite VGC's sucking this year being restricted to 155 Pokemon out of 649 in total. If you hate Gen 5 that much then you're not a true Pokemon fan.

That's kind of mean, I hate Gen 5 and so do a bunch of other people yet we are hardcore Pokemon fans. What does that tell you? B/W are not as good as the other gens. Extremely linear game, horrible in-game pokemon, very easy, very short, overall its just not up to the standards Pokemon has set with its other games. The only reason I got B/W is to be able to battle my friends who have it, otherwse I probably would not have gotten it because it is flat out not as good as Pokemon's other games (well, besides Ranger, but everything is better than that). Liking Pokemon may inspire a sense of loyalty to buy new games, but that doesn't prevent us from thinking they suck.
