Pokemon 5th-Generation Tomy Plushes

Hey, does anybody know what's become of the plushes? I remember they planned to release every single Unova Pokémon in the form of a plush. It's quite a difficult task, considering some of the Pokémon have designs really ill-suited for plushes like Klinklang and Reuniclus.

But I haven't really heard word from them. I understand that not a lot of people collect the plushes, I presume, so it's not exactly considered newsworthy on sites like this or Serebii, but I'm pretty interested in them.

Why do you think it would be hard to make a Reuniclus plush? It's perfect for a plush.

Anyway, this is a good site to follow if you want to know about Pokémon merch. Here is everything that is tagged Plush. :)

Because it has transparent parts, and the body is on the inside. It's like how Gastly-based merchandise is incredibly rare compared to Gengar. I saw a Duosion plush though, and it has thick green plastic covering it. Obviously, it's not fuzzy like most other plushes, but it still fits in.

So they're on Set E among the line I'm thinking of. That's good. Slower than they had scheduled at the beginning of 2011, but they're still at it.

As you could probably tell, I like getting Pokémon plushes. I have about 10 of them (as I just collect the ones I particularly like, like Shadow Lugia and Vanillite).

I love Pokemon Plushies<33
And seeing that they're releasing all the Unova Pokemon in Plush form is awesome ^.^
I got 40 some Plushies at the moment... Looking forward to seeing a Victini, Tranquil, Archeops, Purrloin, and Maniduzz<33 (already have a Zorua and Snicy :p)

I have around 200. They haven't done much for Unova IMO. I think all of them will be tough to do. However, I would definitely buy some. I'd do so much for a Durant and Heatmor.

Eh Ophie, I'm preeetty sure that the Reuniclus plush will be green and made of normal material, with the body parts sewed at the front (so they are just 2D parts). ;)

Really? I saw a Duosion plush somewhere else where it was encased in what looked like a thick green plastic bag. Having the image of the insides drawn on the front (and probably the back) would feel more like a copout to me. (You mean like that plush line of human organs, right? Like the ones for the lungs and kidneys had veins embroidered onto them, and heart with its chambers.)

Then again, that Duosion plush may have just been a handmade one.

That's how they usually do... but I got curios and searched. Guess what I found.

Gotta say... they suck. :p Oh and those are supposed to be official.

I think I'll get the Reuniclus one anyway, just because it's interesting they managed to incorporate the fuzzy plush part of it anyway. They could've made the whole thing solid un-fuzzy plastic but didn't.

But the Klinklang one IS pretty disappointing.

I wonder how Jakks Pacific will do with our American plushies?
EDIT:
I want to get the little animal part out of that Reuniclus....it should be removeable....

I don't know where the inside part is attached, but there should be a way of cutting out the plastic outside if you really wanted to do that.

I like Klinklang as a character in Pokemon, but that plushie's just awful. Reuniclus isn't as bad in plush form, but the plastic outer layer sort of makes me think of it as a toy ball or something.

I don't have any fifth gen plushies yet, though I'd like to get my hands on a Zorua and a Zoroark if I can get the money together and find a website that sells them that will actually take debit cards as opposed to PayPal. I have gotten a couple newer plushies of the older characters over the past few years, but only one (a Shaymin Land forme plushie) that I think was actually made by Tomy.

Zorua and Zoroark should still be available at brick-and-mortar toy stores and Japanese merchandise shops as they're both very popular Pokémon.

Zorua's already avalible from Jakks. Both can be bought at the American Pokemon Center. I got both at the mall tour.

I like Reuniclus, but Klinklang is meh...

I absolutely adore the look of that Cobalion. Though I haven't the foggiest idea of how I'd get it D8

What's the best way of getting the Japanese plush toys like that? Do you just have to wait and hope someone puts them on eBay?

Actually, as it is Cobalion, and one of the bigger movie plushes, chances are that it will be sold at anime conventions too. At least they will probably sell that one in Finland.

Try hardrockpokémon etc.

There are three main ways of getting a Pokémon plush from Japan: Online, at a convention, and at Japanese import shops. How easy you can find them depends on their popularity; Cobalion's pretty popular so they'll make lots of them.

Japanese import shops are the best bet, as you'll be able to find lots of other kinds of Pokémon plushes too and see how they're like, feeling them and squeezing them, before you buy them. The Nintendo World Store in NYC is also a good option if you live near it or are going to visit the area, since they always get plushes almost as soon as they come out. Getting them online is your next option if you don't have any Japanese import shops near you (they tend to be clustered around the Pacific coast). However, chances are you're buying secondhand, and you may not receive it in the condition you want. When it comes summertime, there'll be a lot of anime and comic book conventions sprung up all around America and Europe; if you can travel to one of these, you are near guaranteed to find a Cobalion plush, as people who run said import stores will travel to these conventions and show off everything they have.

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed reply! The one in particular is now actually up on HardRockPokemon, but for £66 and £33 shipping. Money which I don't have right now XD

Oh well, time to start saving I guess!

What? That's a total ripoff. The regular size plushes at conventions and in import stores sell for $12 to $18. How much is that in pounds...8 to 12? The large ones cost $40 to $50. You shouldn't have to spend 99 pounds on it.
