Ruling Absol's Cursed Eyes

Hello,

I currently play a M Alakazam-EX deck, and if I play the Absol on the bench do I have to change 3 damage counters or can I split it up into for example 2 on the active and 1 remains on the benched pokémon?
I know the card says:"move 3 damage counters", but i just wanted to make sure.

If the Pokemon you choose to move the damage from has at least 3, you must move 3. Otherwise you would move 2 if they had only 2 or 1 if they had only 1.
