I have my doubts with Bruno, since it could be too powerful if Plus Powers or the tools that give +10 damage are also included, I haven't figured it out yet. I'm planning to make my own format,

Yeah, it all depends on what is in the format. Sometimes you have to go back and change something two or three times because you realize later that because of the other cards, it's very broken. (If only Pokemon actually did this before releasing cards.) I certainly could see Bruno being broken now that you mention it. It reminds me of a rogue deck way back in the day. It was somehow able to consistently get Shuppet, Expert Belt, and Plus Power for a T1 60, which, for the format, donked almost everything.

Yeah, I remember that deck. Not very fun to play against. I'm planning to playtest and nerf or buff depending of the results (and keep nerfing or buffing when the set is done). Right now I'm thinking about the non-support trainers, and this list come sout of my mind:

(Old) Rare Candy. (could make Giovanni useless maybe, dunno)
Life Herb
Windstorm
Escape Rope (warp point)
Pokedex (Handy)
Plus Power
Super scoop up
Buffer Piece
Potion – 30 hp
Crystal Shard
TM- Rock

I would like to get some recomendations, since I think this ones were playable competitively (except maybe the potion). Catcher is out of question since I want to give Stage 2 Pokemons a chance.

RE: All time favorite (and hated) cards

If you want to make a format out of just those cards, you'll want several search cards. It's optional, but you could do something neat with Tools and Stadiums. You could even go as far as to make your own mechanic. When I played around with my own set, I thought about bringing back the old ex's... until that actually happened, and it wasn't hipster...

RE: All time favorite (and hated) cards

No one has brought up Neo Genesis Slowking...
Due to a translation error it became the most hated card in the format and was quickly banned.

What would you think the real wording should be? Cause I haven't designed Slowking yet, and it would be cool to have that vintage feel, but without the brokeness (even if is a Slowking ex).

Love:
- Entei Ex
- Luxury Ball
- Cynthias Feelings
- Steven's Advice (Remember that one?!! *laughing*)

Hate:
- Mewtwo Ex

Wait you make tentacruel charizard blastoise venusaur and pideogt EXs but not alakazam? shame.

Considering the TCG avoids printing Kadabra cards at all costs, we're lucky we've even seen Alakazam after the Skyridge set, much less three times, even though none of them were as an ex.

Blastoise, Venusaur and Charizard were included to set the bar in the upcoming Pokemon EX powerlevel, because I liked the designs and have a lot of nostalgic value. (Maybe Blastoise is too powerful but It seems ok for the moment)

Pidgeot is an experiment, an example of power level adjustment.

Tentacruel was just my inner self trying to give something to a Pokemon that has gotten NOTHING in years of design. Also I felt very clever with his 80 Tentacles attack :p

I included Alakazam with his classic ability, and probably there will be another version, including an EX, but haven't figured out the design yet. I'd be pleased to hear ideas for Alakazam EX.

I will continue updating, but I haven't got any time this weeks. My friends are also very busy, so if someone feels like hepling a bit, it would be very nice :D.

Um, am I missing something? Where are the Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, I've been hearing about?

They're exactly the same as the versions from Firered and Leafgreen. I think they're at the power level an ex should be.

I personally loved the babies from WAY back in the day, in the 2nd gen. (neos)
Also I think Double Gust is a good card, it's balanced.

If you really would like to look at strategic cards, go back to the Ereader generation.
Some of the most weird Pokemon Powers and attacks in the entire pokemon TCG.
The game was really fun back then and I can imagine you would find a LOT of good cards out of those sets.
(only like 4 sets).

Does anyone remember the legendary birds and the legendary dogs/cats/beasts from Aquapolis and Expedition? Possible the most interesting (and ridiculously useless) pokebodies ever.

Yeah, they were pretty dissapointing.

There were cards that coincided with some of those legendaries.
They were just hard bodies to get around. And took a lot of thought to put them in decks.
