Any regulation on Primes or Lv. X's?

I'm still unsure about them. Currently, the problematic cards are added in the corresponding sections, but I can see how LV.X-s or even Primes could dominate the metagame. But not all of them are problematic, only a few. What do you suggest? Is there a card which should be added?

But yeah, as Scorched Feathers mentioned, there are no regulations for them, unless otherwise stated (like Luxray GL Lv. X or Feraligatr Prime).

I say just make all of them 1-2 stars.

What, even the borderline unplayable ones?

Let's start the discussion with Pokémon Primes. Feel free to share your thoughts, and if you agree with my statement or not.

Ampharos: Its HP is high and its ability can be really annoying, especially if you have multiple copies. Definitely should be an ex.
Blissey: Donks are really slow, and except that, it's not so useful. Should be unlimited.
Dophan: Okay, this one is tough. Especially because it seems really slow, but in fact, it's really fast and also can be a really effective wall. Should be an ex.
Feraligatr: Already a 1 Star card.
Meganium: I don't feel this card as a treat. The ability can be really useful sometimes, and its HP is high, but there are better cards and its attack is also really slow. Should be left unlimited in my opinion.
Typhlosion: This one is a bit more useful than Meganium, as its ability is more universal, and the attack is way faster (and more effective) too. Maybe should be ex, but not sure.
Crobat: Requires fast setup and deck dedication. It's not as easy to use as the others. I'd leave it unlimited, but I can understand why would you want to see it as an ex or 1 Star card.
Kingdra: Sweeping is really annoying, and it's also a really fast attacker. The only thing it stops is Fire Pokémon. Should be ex, but this one also could be a 1 Star card too.
Lanturn: Borderline. Nothing special, its HP is high, but that's all. Can do high damages, but there are better cards for that. Should be unlimited.
Steelix: If Lanturn is borderline, then Steelix is definitely a mediocre card. Definitely untouched and will be unlimited.
Tyranitar: This one can be an ex because of the variety of attacks.
Ursaring: The ability can be really broken sometimes. Ex... maybe? It's still slow, though.
Espeon: It's totally okay and should be unlimited. It requires its own deck.
Houndoom: Also really slow, and it's only a treat if you have Special Darkness Energy (which is already a Star Card). Can be unlimited.
Raichu: This one is another borderline, but from the upper class. It's slow, but its damage is far superior compared to other slow Primes. Can be an ex.
Scizor: The metal equivalent of Houndoom, except it has a bit better ability. I'd say this should be left untouched.
Slowking: Should be unlimited/untouched. Nothing special.
Umbreon: A good card, but only in Eeveelution. Should be unlimited.
Absol: Lost Zone is a 2 Star card, so anything related to Lost Zone is not a treat anymore. Unlimited.
Celebi: Unlimited. A really balanced Prime card, actually.
Electrode: Unlimited, as only its ability is useable, and making it an ex would kill this card.
Gengar: Lost Zone manipulation is not a threat anymore. Unlimited.
Machamp: Borderline. As Machamp (Stormfront) is now a 1 Star card, it is a much better choice for Aggro Fighting decks. I'd vote for unlimited, but if you want to see it as an ex, I can understand.
Magnezone: 1 or 2 Stars. This is the only Pokémon which is still useable without Lost Zone, but still manipulating it. Its ability is a Claydol, and its attack is actually really powerful.
Mew: Not so powerful anymore. Unlimited.
Yanmega: Hmm... Actually, if the ability is not working, then it's simply an average Pokémon. BUT if it works (and it can work pretty easily, just think about N), then it's definitely a 1 Star card. I'd say make it ex, though.

Yeah, I agree to that. I might look into Yanmega if we make it an ex, since I've always wanted to play it :p I'll use a bunch of cards to even our hands like Hugh, Judge and N.

I did the following modifications on my decks:

- Totally rebuilt: Rain Dance, and it now has Team Plasma support - Water Combo Deck
- New Deck: Dragon Control (ace card: Dragonite ex) - Colorless Control Deck(with Water/Lightning energy cards)
- Another new Deck: Wyth Du (ace card: Darkrai LV.X) - Dark Aggro Deck

I realized I made a mistake during the writing of the list. Actually, the 2 Star Pachirisu is the one you included from Great Encounters, not the one from Call of Legends. I modified that, and put it into the 1 Star section instead of the 2 Stars one.

For the Deck: I actually like it, as it's really a do or die aggro deck, which I'd gladly see in action. How about adding 1 Premier Ball? Instead of 1 Level Ball, maybe. Except that, I actually like the concept, especially your Trainer section. Really balanced.

Can I add your Deck to the main post?

Darn, I loved that Pachi... TT.TT I'll make some edits to my post to agree with those changes.

Done!

Awesome! There's no problem here now. :) I'll add your Deck to the main page, if it's no problem.

I really love this alternate format! One question, why is Evosoda worth 1 star when Level Ball and Ultra Ball aren't? I feel like Evosoda is way worse than the balls and that Evosoda should be 0 stars. Either that, or Level Ball and Ultra Ball should be 1 star.

Edit: Sableye Dark Explorers should probably be 2 stars, or 1 star at least. Also why is Boost Energy 2 stars and Double Colorless 0 stars?

Thank you for the response! I'm really glad you're interested in this format. And thank you for adding suggestions! As it's an open project, the list is created not by me, but the whole community in order to create a really fun alternate method to play. It will be updated regularly, so the gameplay will also be varied!

Now to answer for your questions. Evosoda is 1 Star because unlike the balls, it's a sure method to evolve your Pokémon without any card disadvantage (Level Ball is limited, while Ultra Ball works only if you discard 2 cards). However, if Basic Pokémon decks will be too dominant, it will be removed from the 1 Star list. But I'm opened for the idea to remove it from the list temporarily, and if it seems overpowered (or at least too good compared to other cards), we will put it back.

Boost Energy is 2 Stars because it's a core card for Donk variants, like PoryDonk or other turbo decks. So this one will stay as a star card, but we can try out it as a 1 Star card.

I agree with Sableye, however. It will definitely be added to the next list as a 2 Star card (as it's basically a Junk Arm with a body). I just need to test a card or two until I create the next list. :)

This looks absolutely amazing. I'll draft something up and post it this weekend. It would be awesome if this became popular.

By the way first post. :)

Just change Raichu Prime to Raichu from Mysterious Treasures and it will work really fine. ;)

No, it's still wrecked, Miley Cyrus level. It's because of Raichu's Prime Poké-Power, that way I could just Dynamotor to the bench and then transfer to Raichu like nothing happened. u.u I'll try to fix it by maxing Float Stone, but still... That one hurted, Sheodon, you're now on my list!!! *just kidding* :p

I agree that the Deck lost its OTK/FTK potential and it became slower, but it's still a really nice deck and useful. It was needed in order to balance the game. Pleasedontkillme

By the way, what is your opinion about the Dragons? (Kingdra, Flygon, Garchomp and Hydreigon - the Dragon-Type ones) Should they be added to the list?

I'll try to re build it and see how it works. And Hydreigon not that much because it's very similar to Aromatisse, the one that DESPERATELY needs to be at least an EX, or even be Banned, is Garchomp. With Muscle Band/Silver Bangle can OHKO many things and a lot of EX, including the "arbitrary" ones.
