Guiding questions:
1. Analyze the stats of the card (HP, Weakness, Resistance, Retreat cost).
2. Analyze the attacks (and/or Poke-Powers, Poke-Bodies) of the card.
3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
4. What techs can you use to combat the weak points?
5. How's the artwork?
6. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).

Posts MUST be more than one sentence long with proper grammar and spelling or they will be deleted.

1. 80 HP on a fully evolved pokemon is bad. x2 fighting weakness hurts too.
2. Astonish isn't great b/c you don't get to choose from their whole hand. Not worth the 2 energies. Tail spank isn't terrible if you find a card that does better in the discard pile. Also both can run on 1 DCE.
3. The only one that comes to mind right now is from a thread I was just looking at. Discard 2 marowaks, then switch into cubone for a -40 damage on him. Also, the foe will have a fair amount of damage on it when you switch in.
4. I dunno, expert belt to cover up the lousy HP? Also, I guess you could play Aaron's, fisherman, or flower shop lady to recover what you discard.
5. Meh. 2/5
6. 2/5. Just not that useful.

1. Analyze the stats of the card (HP, Weakness, Resistance, Retreat cost).
80 HP for a stage one is pretty low. Colorless typing makes it nice against Garchomp C and its Lv X. No resistance sucks, but it's expected, and a retreat cost of one is payable. Fighting weakness screams Donphan Prime and Machomp bait.

2. Analyze the attacks (and/or Poke-Powers, Poke-Bodies) of the card.
Ambipom is gifted with the ability to abuse Double Colorless Energy to use its attacks, both costing a mere [CC]. Astonish does a pretty irrelevent 20 damage (40 is a little better with EB, but still not much), but it has a fairly nice disruption ability, as it shuffles two random cards in your opponent's hand back into their deck. Tail Spank is almost the opposite of Astonish, forcing you to discard two cards from your hand to deal 60 damage. The energy cost might be workable, but the hand cost isn't... unless you love discarding (Regice fits that role better, anyhow). On top of that, many cards overshadow poor Ambipom. We'll get to that, later.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
None that I can think of that a different, more viable pokemon in the format couldn't accomplish more effectively.

4. What techs can you use to combat the weak points?
Sadly, none.

5. How's the artwork?
I'm not good at critiquingcard art, but I like it. 4.5/5

6. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
2/5 Sorry, Ambipom, but there's too many things that outclass you. Donphan Prime does that 60 damage for ONE energy, and if players wish to take a hand-disruption route, Houndoom UD/CL, Cyrus' Initiative, and Judge all do a better job. Maybe next time, you two-tailed monkey.

Hmm.. Guess nobody saw this as a nice Chomp counter.

1)Analyze the stats of the card(HP, weakness, resistance, etc.)

80 HP is actually pretty nice(though some of the basic cards in this set have more HP than it, eg. Lickitung), though Dragon Rush will finish you quickly. 1 retreat is nice.

2) Analyze the attacks of the card(and/or, Pokepowers/Pokebodies) of the card.

Astonish is okay with Mr. Mime CoL, to view your opponent's hand right before you use it. Though Tail Spank is awesome, one-shotting Chomp and getting rid of Hurl Into Darkness bait. It's nice overall.

3)What combos can you use it with? How so?

Not many combos out there, you might use it in a discard deck(eg. Gyarados), but probably not.

4)What techs can you use to combat the weak points?

Exploud SV. That's pretty much it.

5)How's the artwork?

Nothing new. 1.5/5.

6)Give it a rating, and explain why. You can also give it a rating out of 5 stars.

1.5/5. Sorry Ambipom, but your basic cousin Ambipom G beats you in almost every way. It does still make for a nice Chomp counter, though(the .5 part).

:)

Bad HP for something unevolving. Fighting weakness isn't awful, 1 retreat is good.
Astonish is a great attack under a faltering lock and you accidentally allow your opponent something playable. Tail Spank is a funny name.
Exeggutor to drop your opponent's hand real low, then Astonish.
Expert Belt lets you attack with Tail Spank :3
Artwork looks good, as always, but it isn't anything special.

3/5: It has potential to be played in a lock deck that has room. Astonish is very good. It's too bad that is shuffles the deck.

1. 80 HP is terrible for a Stage 1 that can't evolve. x2 weakness will get it knocked out easily. But the retreat cost is very good.
2. Astonish is weak, but with luck, you can ruin an opponent's possible combo. Tail Spank could work with some that do better when discarded, I guess.
3. Can't think of anything...
4. Probably Expert Belt.
5. 3.5/5
6. 2/5 Its horrible weakness makes the high possibility of a OHKO. Astonish's possible combo breaker is the only thing keeping out of a 1/5.

1. 80hp isn't the best but for a stage 1 tech it's not terrible. Weakness could be much better, resistance is nonexistant and retreat is decent/manageable.
2. First attack would could be used in league-level decks, and the second attack makes a nice counter for garchomp.
3. I'm not extremely familiar with sablelock, but this could be a decent addition for a cheap disruption based deck. Used with Cyrus' Initiative/Judge/etc you could cripple your opponent. Judge in particular could be deadly. Used in a yanmega prime deck you could have a win-win situation going. Use judge, if they only draw 2, you can send both of those cards away and they are stuck with only getting a lucky draw while you whittle their health away with his second attack. Or, as it has been mentioned, use it with g-dos, cubone, tangrowth etc to get cards magikarps, marowaks, grass energies, etc discarded.
4. Seeing as it would be mostly used as a tech for most decks, you shouldn't really tech it. If you had to, unown to get rid of the retreat cost or a crobat g or two to get a little extra damage.
5. 2/5, it's fun but not super cool.
6. 2/5 it has use, and can be a cheap alternative to some cards, but there are just better cards out there.

1. Analyze the stats of the card (HP, Weakness, Resistance, Retreat cost).
--> Well, for a Stage 1 final evolution it has very low HP, fighting weakness really hurts, just like the 1x Retreat cost.

2. Analyze the attacks (and/or Poke-Powers, Poke-Bodies) of the card.
--> I do not believe this card would be used that much for it's second attack, but 60 damage in the first turn can mace a difference. I love this astonish. It attacks for 20 and shuffles 2 of opponents cards from hand into his/her deck. The bad thing is you can't choose which cards to shuffle, but with the right combo it can kill an opponents hand in a pinch.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
--> I would definitely play it with Weawile UD with Seeker & Super Scoop Up because you can shrink your opponents deck in one turn for at least 3 cards while attacking and doing small damage. Slowking HS would be used to manipulate with opponents top card of the deck, putting the most useless card on the top. Use Rocket's trickery and Let Loose Giratina with them and there you go. since Ambipom is a colorless type, DCE abuse FTW!

4. What techs can you use to combat the weak points?
--> I along Weawile is Slowking the second priority. Using tons of Uxie and Mesprit for extra draw power & Power blocking (so they accidentally don't draw that 1 Uxie and draw 7 cards XD).

5. How's the artwork?
--> I never liked Ambipom as a Pokemon. He kinda creeps me out but the artwork is mediocre. It emphasizes all of Ambipoms traits (2 tailhands XD)

6. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
--> My rating would be a 3-4 because this card really does have potential. It could really dominate (in a Tier 2 deck level) in the HS-on format if played right.

1. Analyze the stats of the card (HP, Weakness, Resistance, Retreat cost).
The card is fairly normal.

2. Analyze the attacks (and/or Poke-Powers, Poke-Bodies) of the card.
Attack may come in handy however agasingt most metagame it wont.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
You can use the disard two card from your hand and then later use conductive quarry, etc. or some other cards to recover energy or perhaps even discard magickarps.

4. What techs can you use to combat the weak points?
Its HP can be increased by EXPRET BELT and its retreat by Unown Q for a balanced card.

5. How's the artwork?
JUMPING = GREAT but not PERFECT.

6. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
