I've been into Pokemon cards since I was little, and I'm honestly getting kind of worn out trying to keep up. My local stores don't have Pokemon anymore because they sell out instantly, and the ones that do are charging double the MSRP. If you want ANYTHING now, like Journey Together, you have to fight bots, scalpers and website overload only to get nothing. Everything is more expensive, you can't find much of anything and it's turning very draining. My only bit of hope is when people inevitably move on, scalpers will be forced to sell at below MSRP, hopefully.

I hear you. I am new, and I am tired of fighting to try to find any product. Still trying to learn how the game works. Also trying to understand how everyone seems to know about when preorders are happening and release dats. Its a bit overwhelming, actually.

I've been collecting for a few years. It comes in big waves, then a bad set releases and slows it down. When I picked up Prismatic at Target yesterday, two shoppers on the phone were talking about the stock on hand and what they could flip it for. It made me sad. I wish this hobby was less about the money.

Omg dang scalpers.
Personally, I don't like to "flip" Pokémon cards because it is pure speculation. Even if you do sell at higher prices, you will lose possession of the cards, be left with depreciating cash, have to buy more Trubbish cards, and have to repeat the same cycle over and over.
It's too tedious for me.
If you have a goose that lays golden eggs, would you sell the goose?

It's tough for sure. I didn't find any Prismatic today but I'm optimistic that TPCi will correct the issue by boosting supply. I'm sure they have eyes on the toxic behavior and will be encouraged to print more so that the everyday fan will be able to enjoy collecting like we always could :)

I think that I am out. I got interested when trying to buy for my grandchildren, but this is crazy. I will buy stuff for them, if they want it and it is available. But for myself and possible collecting for fun. No. This 'hobby' isn't for me. It basically isn't any fun because there is too much of this scalping going on. maybe later on, if this dies down and it is something that I can enjoy with my two grandsons and my granddaughter. But for now, for me, I am out.

I’ve loved Pokemon since it first came to the states and my mom would take me to books a million every other weekend when they had local league's and meet people in town who share a common interest this is in 1999 the internet was a cool new thing, at least for 12 yr old me I have a lot of nostalgia and good memories from that time I got older and I remember losing interest a little bit but never really got to far from it so when my son got into it (I may have had a little influence) I was happy to see him making the memories similar to mine but it just isn’t the same and it is making just as many bad memories as good ones he just wants to be able to buy packs and collect without having to pay what ridiculous prices that are being asked for by people msrp is high enough for a kid to spend to be in the hobby but after the inflation of sets and singles plus the inability to buy what you want when you want without a 5x markup and it’s just not fair to the people who are not in it for the money and he’s getting over the B.S that this community has turned into and frankly so have I we’re still here and we don’t plan on leaving but we will be left out because we don’t want to grow with the hobby like this it’s making me personally feel bitter and I don’t want that to happen to him over something that’s meant to be fun ☹🤬🙁

I would have bought everything right then and waited for others to come and sold to then at MSRP.. I hate Scalpers...
