AR DS (for DS original and DS lite) not working for B/W?

MODS: I didn't know exactly where to put this, but it's here because I'm talking about my AR, not just my Pokemon games.

So I found the cloning cheat for B/W, I got excited, put the code in my AR so I could start trading and stuff, but.....I tested it on Black AND White, and I check the cheat and touch Start, and the screen turns white and then it just stays white. It won't go into the game.

I tried it with HG and I was afraid the AR broke, but it works fine on HG, and I'm sure it'll work on D/P.

Is this because B/W are new, and this AR is pretty old (maybe like a year, or more) and I need a new one? And could I just get a new AR DSi and put it in my DS lite (because I don't have a DSi)? Would it work on B/W, then?

You need to update the AR with the USB cable you got when you bought it.

You need to do a firmware update which can be found here: http://uk.codejunkies.com/support/article.aspx?article_id=434 just download it then follow the instructions. At least, thats what I had to do since my AR Code Manager said there were no updates.

Also, while I'm at it:

(for example, Lugia from SoulSilver since I only have HeartGold).

You do know that you can catch both Ho-oh and Lugia in HG?

Yeah, I was just using an example. I should change the example to Celebi or something since it's event-only

And that's not a good thing, because guess who thought she wouldn't need it and lost it and didn't really care until now? That's right, me. should I just get a new one, then? And could I get an AR DSi and have it work on my DS lite?
