Archeops – Fighting – HP130
Stage 1 – Evolves from Archen

Ability: Prehistoric Power
While this Pokemon is in play, no player can play a Pokemon from their hand to evolve his or her Pokemon.

[F][F][C] Rock Slide: 60 damage. Choose 2 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon. This attack does 10 damage to each of them. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokemon.)

Weakness: Grass (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Plume Fossil – Trainer

Look at the bottom 7 cards of your deck. If you find an Archen there, you may put it on your Bench. Shuffle the remaining cards back into your deck.

You can use any number of Trainer cards during your turn.

My idea's are to play him with basic pokemon such as:

Virizion – Grass – HP110
Basic Pokemon

[C] Double Draw: Draw 2 cards from your deck.
[G][C] Leaf Slugger: 40 damage. During your next turn, if this Pokemon uses Leaf Slugger the damage is increased by 40.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: Water (-20)
Retreat: 1

110 HP able to draw 2 first turn and can deal a good 80 for 2 I like it.

Victini – Fire – HP60
Basic Pokemon

Ability: Victory Star
You can use this when your Pokemon flip coins as part of an attack. Ignore all results of those coin flips and reflip from the beginning. You can’t use Victory Star more than 1 time during your turn even if you have multiple Victini in play.

[R][C] Assist Power: 30 damage. Move all Energy attached to this Pokemon to 1 of your Benched Pokemon.

Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

they Idea here is to abuse junk arms by discarding the marowaks and getting back things like Plume Fossil and Research Records. could work dunno.

Last but not least is Mew prime I can see this working with a variety of different techs like Lostgar,Jumpluff etc. It is just a really versitial card.

YOUR THOUGHTS??

As I have said on every Archeops thread to date, the new fossil mechanic makes it very gimmicky, slow, and inconsistent, most decks will have no trouble setting up before you do. Then they just catcher the Archeops you worked so hard on and kill it, then proceed to sweep your plethora of basics. I guess you could try it as a tech in Mewbox, but its a 10 card tech at the very least (4 plume fossil, 4 archen, at least 2 archeops) for something that might not help very much or even get set up.

If I were to play Archeops, I would use it with Recycle and Jirachi no matter what. As for main attackers, you could use easy to get out basics, I like Virizion, but Cubone, not so much. Things like Tornadus and Zekrom could be great options.

Well hey, with cubone you can have the alternate loltactic of throwing away four marowaks and laugh with defenders and eviolites XD

The fossil mechanic is terrible. Research record is going to be literally the only way this can work, or luck. If I were you I would choose a different deck to play, just saying.

4 Research Record, 4 Plume Fossil, 4 Archen, 2 Archeops in MewBox or ZPST. That'd be the only way to run it. However, with the amount of ZPST there'll be, Archeops is a bad play.

That deck is hilarious (doesn't help that Yanmega snipes everywhere else or pulls out a Kindgra). It's fun just to make your opponent feel like they got the most unrewarding win ever as soon as you set up, because they will be sitting there for some time. Add Crushing Hammer to annoy Reshiram/Zekrom ;P

I have been thinking about how to get these new fossil out faster. And the only thing I can think of is (If you already have a Recycle in Discard.
1. Junk arm for Recycle dumping an Archen
2.Use Recycle for Archen If fail. Use another. (With Junk Arm or without)
3.Research Records to get it to the bottom.
4.Then use your Plume Fossil.
