You need to use TWO holo sheets?! Definitely need to remember that and how the holo sheets need to have different layer styles and opacity. Thanks!

Well, it's the same holosheet but it's used twice.

Also, I noticed that your cards have issues with placement, they're interesting, have the right fonts and all but text & symbols look out of place just because of where they are.
If you need help with placement look for cards with the same/similar effects of what you're trying to do.
Other than that great work! The art you make for cards is great, especially on Full Arts

I try my best, and I think I'm improving. Thanks for your thoughts though!

^ This. Maybe that didnt come across in my other post heh. :)

Duplicate the layer and basically have dodge on top, multiply on bottom, play around with opacity and voila.

RE: Arcticwhite's Fakémon Stuff : NEW! Evil Dragon!

I like these Pokemon MUTANT's. It's a neat concept.
I do have problems with how you're putting the Pokemon on the card though. If you're using outer glow, put the blank both over and under the Pokemon, then erase the parts of the top layer for the parts of the Pokemon you want out of the art box. This way the glow doesn't look awkward with parts that are half showing, as they'd look like they'd been chopped off.

Now, I have a few problems with Guraiba. First off, the left wing looks really awkward in the bottom left corner, it's outside the box but it's been cut off. So it just looks really out of place. All the text and attack/Ability symbols should be moved up to where they should be. Keen Eye should be "Once during your turn, when you play this Pokemon, you may draw 5 cards."

Enozoim doesn't need the whit text stroke, black text'll do.

Also, probably wouldn't use difference on the whole blank. I'd probably leave the Stage, the WRRC names untouched, or make them so they're very easy to see (esp on the WRRC, as they have very small text).

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad to hear it's mostly the actual image rather than the wording. This all helps me improve :)

RE: Arcticwhite's Fakémon Stuff : NEW! Evil Dragon + Accomplice!

I like the Meturu card. The background goes well with the Fakemon and the position looks really nice. This might be my new favorite from you.

I like how the Dragon texture looks when inverted. Nice and pretty. The symbol, not so much. The artwork looks nice, but really out of place on that blank. Guraiba's texture and symbol, on the other hand, look nice and the artwork fits perfectly. The only thing that really bothers me is, as Blui pointed out, the cut-off feathers.

I really enjoy the reverse foil. Keep it up!

Maybe next time I might select the energy symbol, then inverse select the rest of the card and then invert the colour... And I'm glad you like Meturu!

neat card!

This looks like a nice Fakemon, is the typing Dragon/Steel?

Yes, but I used a Fire Energy symbol because Dragon Energy doesn't exist yet.

RE: Arcticwhite's (mainly) Fake Cards! *NEW* Armoured Snake

Arctic, remember the gold line art goes above any textured background, as it has its own "glittery/sparkle" texture :) (This is what Nintendo use to define said lineart and make it stand out more, works better with reverse holo sheets as well)

Edit: Also all text/symbols/EX box/divider lines/basic-stage1-stage2, etc goes above the texture sheets too, you use GIMP or photoshop? As i can't remember. Also old blank again, the newer 2013 Dragon one is alot crisper :)

Apart from the few things asche described, this is awesome. Really liking your improvement with FAs.

I use Photoshop. Glittery texture on the gold line art? I'll give it a try whenever I make another FA. I actually prefer the old blank because I like the way you added a texture on the type symbol.

Thanks! I try to improve on the text wording and placement the most, along with fonts, for a more real look.

This isn't completely true. The stage bar, divider lines, and frame of the EX box are all textured on real full-art Pokémon EX (for the last few sets, anyway). The symbols are also textured, but these use a different texture than the image.

They are yes, but what I mean is they don't share the same texture as whats behind it (in this case the background) they have their own, making them stand out.

I'll try and type a list of what I mean, its hard to type specifically as theres so much going on, on one card heh! :

  • The type symbol and attack symbols should have the same swirly line one + one to make them seem to be reflecting light.
  • The background should have its own texture. (Different to the border).
  • The border having a different texture to the background, shared with the basic bar, divider bar(s) and EX rule box (grey parts, not gold or text).
  • Text as said should always be above any textures/holosheets, that includes the "basic" part at the top.
  • The lineart around the pokemon should be on top of any background/pokemon textures and it basically just has a grainy style, almost glittery (imagine neo era shining pokemon) texture to it. On top of it being a golden gradient on normal sets, blue gradient for plasma.
  • EX symbol @ the top near the name has its on reverse holo texture.
I think thats about it and hopefully that helps more. I'm not tying to tell people their images are wrong or anything like that, its just a more "official" approach which I think most are striving for anywho :)

RE: Arcticwhite's (mainly) Fake Cards! *NEW* Freezing Canine!

Dunno if it's invincible or just faints as soon as you play it...

I like it, especially the colors, but I think the Fakemon should've been placed further to the left as to not cut off any (or as much) of the face. Also, it would probably give off more of a feeling of depth if the front legs and head overlapped the border, but the back part of its body be below it. You could even give it a drop shadow to make it pop out more.

Ah, I get ya now. I was like "Who are you and what did you do with asche!?"
