Are These Cards Real or Fake?

RE: *** Card Errors Database *** (Provide a Picture When Reporting Any - no misprints)

No they are printed in the card.

I recently got this Axew from a Plasma Blast pack with some "claw" misprint under the picture. I know it's some kind of misprint because none of my other Axews have it. I just thought this one looked pretty cool, because it looks kinda like the animation of Dragon Claw in the games. Anyone have knowledge of if there's others like this or if it's worth anything special?

PS. Sorry for size, stupid phone is terrible with pictures.

Looks like an ink blot, they're common but that one is pretty cool looking, it might be worth a little more than usual to a small group of collectors.

I added another 1st edition Jungle Pinsir misprint to my collection today, so now I have proof that this wasn't just a one time thing:

I've seen 3 others for sell on eBay too. Anyone know how this might have happened, or why it would only happen to one card in the set? Pokemon cards are printed (or at least used to be) with all cards of the same rarity on a single sheet. I don't know how this would occur only on Pinsirs and not the other cards on the sheet, but I've never seen the error on anything but Pinsirs.

Thanks! I didn't know that was how inkblots would look, especially with the almost yellow-ish border. Thought they would just be black splotches, haha. Well, I'm planning on holding onto this and throwing in my dragon deck just to show it off some, haha!

Bisharp 9000HP?

I'm just getting into pokemon with my son and we have been collecting for a while though, I pick them up at yard sales, etc. And we have this one card after doing some research, I can't seem to find anywhere. It is Bisharp in the b&w sets of Noble Victories... card #76/101.... anyway, I've only seen them with 90 HP and this one we have has 9000 hp and his finishing blow is 2000+ and night slash is 3000.... is this one an extremely rare card? Any info is helpful and I hope I'm posting this in the right spot. Thanks!

100% sure it's fake.

RE: Are these cards real or fake?

Yeah, no card has that many Hit Points or attack points. Unfortunately, there are loads of fakes out there. I would recommend checking some of the threads on the forums, or checking out some on Youtube. Just to make sure, you don't buy fakes. I would recommend buying from stores, I am not sure where you live but in the UK, we have Game, Toy's R Us, The Entertainer or online stores like Chaos Cards. If you're in the US, Target, Walmart, Amazon or Collector's Cache.

RE: Plasma Blast secret Rare Candy Misprint?

Hey all.

I recently purchased a Rare Candy secret rare (105/101 Plasma Blast) card off Ebay. i inspected every aspect of the card as I always do when I purchase anything off Ebay (as we all know there is some sellers out there that do sell fakes), but I am 'hellbent' on figuring out if this card is a misprint/error card.

As far as I was aware, there hasn't been many errors with the most recent set, but, this card, if real, seems like it would be one of them.

All aspects of the card seem correct (writing, colours, patterns on the card, secret rare star holo as it should be, thickness of the card is correct against other secret rares in the set - tested with very accurate verniers - all layers of the card are present, including the very fine black plastic layer in the centre), but the card itself is misaligned to the top left on the front, and to the top right on the rear.

Here are the scans: (if you want me to attach them to a post please let me know, but I prefer to upload to a site like imgur so I can link the pictures to multiple forums if I have to)

Front: http://imgur.com/HN0bXhn
Rear: http://imgur.com/svhfwb7

The front is more noticeable, as from the top left the picture to the edge is 1.5mm, while on the other side (bottom right) it measures the correct 3mm.

The rear however isn't that bad to the naked eye, measuring 3mm on the top and right, and measuring 4mm on the bottom and left.

The seller reassures me that the card is genuine, and he states that he pulled the card himself from a brand new Booster box when the set 1st came out, which he purchased from Good Games (a chain of card stores around here in Australia, that have a great reputation regarding cards, and is a trusted shop to purchase cards from).

I have also taken the card to a local collectables shop to see if he had any knowledge on the matter, but being the fact that he collects all matter of articles he was unsure himself (not being a full 'master' on Pokemon cards basically).

So.....I figured I should try posting the card on a site like this to see what others thought.

If you do look over the card, thank you for your time :)

RE: Are these cards real or fake?

@Umbra, that card is very real and has no real error, except for some minor misalignment. But that's not very major, this is major!

RE: Are these cards real or fake?

Yeah, misaligned ultra-rares aren't that uncommon. I have misaligned Shiny Charizard and Shiny Gardevoir. They both look somewhat similar to yours, with it being noticeable on the borders very easily. It shouldn't impact the value of your card in any way, either.

RE: Are these cards real or fake?

Some people, actually do collect misaligned cards. It's cool to know, even they make mistakes now and then.

RE: *** Card Errors Database *** (Provide a Picture When Reporting Errors - no misprints)

I found my cards the other day, and I haven't touched them since 1999. I have some of the rare ones, but I can't find anything about misplaced 1st edition stamps. I have several cards in which the first edition stamp is in the box at the bottom. Is this an error?

Woah, those are some crazy errors. They might actually be real. The cards look fine, and what idiot counterfeiter would mis-stamp their cards?

The cards could be real, but the 1st Edition could be counterfeit. I have issue with the concept that WOTC was making 2 passes for black.

That's actually an interesting point. You would think if the black was out of place, that would affect all of the black on the card, not just the first edition stamp. So, this implies that the first edition stamp would actually have been printed separately from the rest of the card.

On the other hand, counterfeiters simply adding the 1st edition stamp and misplacing it so horribly.... YOU HAD ONE JOB.

I guess the best way to figure this out would be if you could tell if regular, legitimate 1st edition cards had the stamps printed at the same time as the rest of the card, or were added on separately.
