Chapter 2: Temple of the Sweet Sword
<Athena> So, Lycia to to the southwest, so that means we want to head.... BB, why are you going in the exact opposite direction? -_-;;
<BB> There's a temple over here. If you don't mind, I'd like to pay my respects and pray for safe travels before we leave.
<Athena> Oh, okay. Are Sacaens followers of St. Elimine or do you hold to other gods?
<BB> Gods? There are no gods here, just a sweet ass sacred sword.
<TGK> Ooooooh fancy. :O

<BB> I don't want to fight, I want to go visit that house over there and talk to the locals.

<Athena> Alright, are you guys finally ready to listen to me now? Good.
I let TGK camp out on a fort to take care of the closest enemy, then sent him and BB down together to wipe out the remaining enemies approaching from the south. Unfortunately, mountains blocked our way to the main entrance, so I had Kent knock a hole in the wall to enter the temple from the side. BB and TGK swept up the remaining enemies and TGK took out their leaders so BB could make sure the sweet sword was safe. Finally, the battle was done.
<Priest> Oh, thank ye kindly, ye fine young people. Thanks to you, I am safe.
<BB> And the sweet sword? Is that safe too?
<Priest> Yep! In fact, since ye were so helpful in protecting it, I'll even let ye touch the sweet sword to say yer prayers, how does that sound?
<BB> Sweet! Thank you! :D *touch* Does... does it always glow like that? o_o;
<Priest> Nope. I think the spirits of the sword are calling out to ye, lass! In all my days... I never saw that coming.
<BB> The spirits call to me? What does that mean? o_o;
<Priest> It means the sword has chosen you to be its rightful wielder!

<Priest> Go on and take it. Hopefully it'll prove useful to ye on yer journey.

We still have a few things to finalize for our picks. I'll leave these options open until the end of Lyn's Mode (Ch. 10) or until they've been finalized, whichever is sooner.
Supports: It looks like everyone's in favour of the romantic support options for Green NotJim, Robin, and SM, so we'll go with that. But I'd still like more opinions on Skyleaf's (and the possible Athena's) support options:
Who should Skyleaf get an A Support with: TGK, Luispipe, or Cypher? Should I also make up a fake Support chain between Athena and one of the remaining guys left over? Please vote for who you would like to see!
Player Notes
One of the few earlier chapters that doesn't give us a new recruit, but we do get a sweet sword for BB, so that's very nice. At this point, the level poses no difficulty whatsoever, and the most annoying thing is still dealing with the forced tutorial bits. Silly BB and TGK. There were only like 5 enemies anyway. >_>
Unfortunately, that also means I, uh, really don't have much to say this chapter. :U Mostly I'm focusing on getting and keeping BB and TGK at as close a level as possible. TGK's just one kill away from Lv. 3. Kent is 10/10 best wall breaker. I would have had him visit the houses on his own, but loltutorial.
Next chapter we'll be gaining Robin. :3 Also Wil, whom we won't be using.

Vom and BB were a pre-determined Support pair because Vom only supports with BB out of the characters that we chose to use. It's the same case for Jabberwock and PP who can only support each other and Skyleaf out of the people we chose (and Skyleaf is already popular enough as it is).

You will be playing as Uther, the Marquess of Ostia, and older brother to one of the game's main characters, Lord Hector/Green. Don't worry, you don't have to do anything. Mostly I just use your name in place of his name so it's like you're in the story.
Chapter 3: Robin swoops in for the kill!

We began our trek west and slightly south towards the mountains. Eventually, towards the outskirts of the Sacae plains and the foothills of the Taliver Mountain, we came to a deserted village.
<TGK> Geez, this place is dumpy. The Marquess in charge should fix it up.
<BB> There are no Marquesses here. The Taliver bandits were likely the ones who destroyed this place. I know their work well; after all, they're the assholes that killed my parents and destroyed our tribe.

Quickly, we all shut our mouths and listened carefully. It seemed like something was happening on the other side of the village. We kept closer until we could make out the words and see what was happening. Some ugly old bandit was harassing a young lady with a pegasus.
<Jerk1> Hey, lady, are you going to apologize or what?
<Lady> I, uh....
<Jerk2> Hey, she's cute. I bet the boss would like her...
<Jerk1> Serves her right for soiling my fine clothes.

Everyone stood around and twiddled their thumbs while BB went to visit... a tiny village in the big village. Or something. Well, it just looks like a house with a fence around it, so who knows. Anyway, it wasn't long before BB came back, this time with another soldier in tow.
<BB> Everyone, this is Wil.
<Wil> 'Sup?
<BB> He's an archer and he's going to help us take down the bandits.
<Wil> In fact, I'mma go shoot that guy over there. *runs off*
<Athena> No one listens to me.... :<
<Robin> I'll listen to you. :3
<Athena> Alright, go finish off that guy Wil wounded.

I guess I kind of guilted everyone into listening to me, since there were no real problems after that. Robin went to go visit the other village while TGK held back the enemies in the south. I wanted to get Robin as much experience as I could since she seemed like the least able of our fighters, but her flying gave her an enormous advantage. Soon, the bandits were almost completely overrun. Only their leader, Jerk1, was left. TGK got in a solid blow, but Robin pushed him aside.
<Jerk1> Heh. You change your mind about coming with us, girly?
<Robin> Well... no. *stab*
<Jerk1> Urk! You'll live to regret this... my brother... leader of the Ganelon bandits... will.... x_x;

With Jerk1's death, all the bandits were slain or driven off, and the battle was finally over. We took a short break afterward to rest and prepare to continue on.
<BB> So, why did you decide to follow me anyway, Robin?
<Robin> Well, you see, in order to complete my training, I'm supposed to get some hands-on experience in a mercenary group or so...
<TGK> Why don't you come fight with us? I'll give you some good hands-on experience... *sleazy wink*

<BB> It's a good idea, though. We're not quite mercenaries, but I think we're close enough to count for the purposes of your training. Would you like to travel with us?

Supports: Skyleaf and TGK seem to have the most support, so we'll go ahead and roll with that. That leaves us with only one remaining Support voting option:
Should I also make up a fake Support chain between Athena and Luispipe/Cypher to make up for their lack of support in the playthrough? If so, which one? Since there are no actual Support conversations with the tactician at all, I would likely take one of their Supports with someone else and rework it to fit the playthrough, if you guys decide it's something you'd like to see. If there's no interest, I won't bother.
Player Notes
Another easy tutorial chapter, woo. The biggest new thing about this chapter is that they're showing more types of enemies (including archers!) to better show off the weapon triangle, PK weakness, and attacking from a distance. We also got to visit our first villages (Wil and gold) and shop at our first armory.
Most of the level broke down into 2 main goals:
1) Give Robin as much EXP as possible since she starts at Lv. 1.
2) Not let TGK kill everything.
TGK's only gotten 3 level-ups so far, but he's 3/3 on Spd gains and 2/3 on Str. This basically means he can kill everything without even trying. This is useful and means he's our best unit by far currently... but that makes it a bit harder to feed kills to Robin. As such, we took the level pretty slowly, and managed to get her up to Lv. 3. She thanked us for our efforts by getting an amazing level up first thing:
Since Robin is our new unit, let's talk about her a bit. She's a Pegasus Knight, which means she has a flying mount and wields lances. She can move around quickly and uses the best melee weapon of the GBA era, but she has her weak sides, too. Her low Def/HP mean that she's vulnerable to hits, and she's got an extra weakness against Bows, so you have to be careful around archers. Her generally low Str and Con mean that she doesn't do as much damage, though her high Skl/Spd means that she doubles enemies very often to help make up for it, and she's good at getting hits in, too.
Thankfully our Robin is 2/2 in +Str level-ups, which gives her a very nice early boost. We'll likely give her the Angelic Robe we get in a couple chapters to boost up her survivability.
As a notice to those of you who are new to reading my Playthroughs, I often don't do chapters over the weekend since I have less free computer time then, so Chapter 4 will be posted on Monday. I hope you all enjoyed reading!
