Writing Athena Plays Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword - Final Chapter & Epilogue

Gee TGK, stop freaking out poor Robin. It's not cool ya' know.

I think I'll end up reading this one, Thena! Possibly because I'm like a main character and stuff, but also because I've got free time! Aint that cool. :3

-appears out of nowhere- i like fire emblem.... even if i only played 3 of its games

Chapter 4: Wow, look at those muscles

After defeating the bandits near Taliver Mountain, BB and her Legion (myself included) continued westward.

<Robin> When I killed that guy... he said something about the Ganelon bandits... do you think they might... come after us?
<TGK> Have no fear, m'lady, I shall protect you from harm!
<BB> I'm not too concerned, really. After all, that group of bandits was practically a cakewalk. With your lance, my sword, Athena's smarts, and TGK's.... well, uh, he has to be good for something I guess...
<TGK> Hey!
<BB> Anyway, I'm pretty confident that we'll be able to handle whatever the bandits throw at us.
<TGK> I'm useful, I promise. ;~;
<Athena> Then why don't you put that usefulness to work and find us a place to sleep for the evening?
<TGK> How about that creepy-looking abandoned fort over there?
<BB> ...
<Robin> ...
<Athena> ...
<TGK> Well, it's not my fault none of you guys have any tents. :|
<BB> Oh well. I prefer a place where I can hear the wind blow anyway.

We began to make our way towards the ruins, but it wasn't long before we realized they weren't as abandoned as we thought they were...

<Athena> Hey, I think I hear someone inside...
<Robin> Eep! *hides behind BB*
<TGK> You there! Come out with, uh, your hands up! And not holding any weapons!
<Villager> Don't shoot! It's just me.
<Robin> Oh, good, it's a lady. *relaxes*
<Villager> I heard my husband was working around these parts and I came to see him... he said he wanted to raise money to get medicine for my illness, but I fear he may have gotten involved with some shady bandits...
<BB> *whispers* Man, I hope he wasn't one of the guys we killed...
<Villager> Pardon me?
<BB> I said, uh, that I hope we can help find him for you! What does he look like?
<Villager> Well, I drew this picture of him... *hands the picture over*
<TGK> Well, uh, wow, that's some... umm.... amazing drawing talent you have there.
<Villager> Yes, I trained as an artist.
<Robin> Wow, look at those muscles o.o
<Villager> Yes, he is pretty beefy, and that's his axe.
<BB> And his name is Dorcas? Well, I don't think we've seen anyone like that, but... we'll keep an eye open for him, for sure.
<Villager> Oh, thank you. If you see him, tell him Natalie is looking for him.
<Athena> Ohshi- I hear bandits approaching.
<Robin> Ohmy! *hides behind BB*
<BB> It looks like a battle, then. Athena, lead us!
<Athena> I will as long as you actually listen to me... *grumble* Anyway, this ruin is a nice defensive area. Let's stay in here and let them come to us. BB I'd like you to--
<BB> Alright, I'll guard the east door. *runs off*
<Athena> ... *sigh*

While BB ran off on her own devices, I helped form up the rest of our fighting units to protect the main entrance, making sure to keep Robin out of range of their archers in the back row with Wil while TGK and Kent held the front. It would be a hard battle to give her exp, with all the axe-users as all, but I was determined to try. Soon, the bandits were approaching. Many committed suicide-by-TGK while others continued to crowd around. Only a couple went to the side where BB was defending, and one of them happened to look familiar...

<BB> Wait a minute... I'd recognize those muscles anywhere. That's Dorcas! Hold up, Dorcas!
<Dorcas> Wha? How did you know my name...
<BB> You're wife told me. She came out to look for you and now she's hiding out here in the ruins with us.
<Dorcas> Oh, geez, she's going to kill me when she finds out that I joined in with a bunch of brigands just to make some cash...
<BB> I think she already suspects something, to tell you the truth, but I bet she'd be a lot happier if you quit working for them and joined up with us instead. After all, we're fighting to protect her, you know.
<Dorcas> Sure! Happy to!

After Dorcas was recruited, I managed to convince BB to come back to the front and help deal with the axe-users, while Robin went off to the east door where her lances would be most effective against the sword-wielding Mercs coming through. TGK continued killing everything indiscriminately. Eventually, the Bandit leader gave up and they pulled back, leaving us alone.

<Villager> Dorcas!
<Dorcas> I'm so sorry--
<Villager> *fwap* What did you join up with those bandits for?! *fwapfwap*
<BB> Hey, uh, all's well that ends well, right? >_>
<Villager> >:|
<Dorcas> I said I was sorry... :< Look, why don't I take you back to our village and then I can come up and join in with these guys instead. Does that sound good to you?
<Villager> Sure, they're pretty nice people. I guess if you have to fight for a living you may as well do it with good folk. In the meantime, I'll stay back in the village and keep selling my drawings.
<BB> Alright, well, just be back here by sun-up tomorrow since that's when we'll be pressing on.
<Dorcas> Of course! :3
<TGK> Now you ladies go get your beauty sleep. I'll keep first watch.

Current Team!

BB
- Lv. 5 Lord
TGK - Lv. 6 Cavalier
Robin - Lv. 5 Pegasus Knight

Decisions!

We still have a few things to finalize for our picks. I'll leave these options open until the end of Lyn's Mode (Ch. 10) or until they've been finalized, whichever is sooner.

Supports: Skyleaf and TGK seem to have the most support, so we'll go ahead and roll with that. That leaves us with only one remaining Support voting option:

Should I also make up a fake Support chain between Athena and Luispipe/Cypher to make up for their lack of support in the playthrough? If so, which one? Since there are no actual Support conversations with the tactician at all, I would likely take one of their Supports with someone else and rework it to fit the playthrough, if you guys decide it's something you'd like to see. If there's no interest, I won't bother.

Player Notes

This chapter is our first Defense chapter. Basically, we had to make sure no one died within 7 full turns, then the enemy would leave. We're getting axe, sword, and bow wielders, so using the weapon triangle to gain advantage was key. If I were using more units (or even if I weren't trying to feed EXP to Robin), I might have been able to push forward and take out the boss for more EXP, but instead we mostly stuck around the fort.

TGK is still a killing machine. I probably could have boss rushed just with him if I'd wanted to. :p However, Robin still managed to get enough EXP to be bumped up to Lv. 5, and BB is there too, so we're holding strong. Even Kent managed to get a level-up, mostly by tanking and chip damage. Since we're not using Dorcas, I tried to give him as little EXP as possible, but he did get one kill thanks to the tutorial forcing some actions.

Tomorrow's chapter is our next recruiting chapter. We'll be picking up Luis, the dour, purple-haired Mage boy that makes all the ladies swoon.

Hope you all enjoyed reading the chapter! :D

PS: The art of Dorcas was really by yours truly, drawn in MSPaint. :p

Chapter 5: Luis blasts into action!

Finally, we made it to the edge of the mountain range and began to work our way back towards sea level. The path we followed would take us down slightly into the country of Bern and then from there it would be only a short walk to the border of Lycia. And hopefully to safety. We hadn't seen any sight of the bandits since the evening we protected Dorcas's wife, but I had a feeling we'd be seeing them again before too long. BB must have been thinking about them, too...

<BB> We should be safe from the bandits once we cross the border in Lycia, right?
<TGK> Oh, yes, certainly. They're not likely to move far beyond the mountains, especially not into range of the fierce Lycian Knights!
<Robin> I hope we'll get there soon...
<TGK> It's not that far off now. We can spend the night as the inn on the border crossing.
<Bandit> Hah! As if we'll let you get that far!
<Robin> Eep! *hides behind BB*
<Athena> Oh, geez, you guys again?

Sure enough, a force of bandits rushed into view from the mountains and swarmed the countryside. I even recognized some of them from the group that had been attacking us the other night. It must be the same Ganelon Bandits again.

<BB> Come on, guys, just piss off already, will you?
<Bandit> No chance in hell! It would ruin our reputation if we let you guys leave here alive. Get 'em boys!

Meanwhile, walking nearby....

<Luis> 5 days in your company, and I'm already wishing someone would kill me....
<Serra> Oh, stop being such a big baby, Luispipe8.
<Luis> Are you sure you don't want to go to Ostia on your own? You certainly don't need my protection. Even the most hardened criminal would flee in terror after five minutes in your company...
<Serra> Most certainly not! I am a delicate Ostian flower and a demure noble lady and it is simply unthinkable that you should leave me alone. Now stay close or I shall be forced to hit you with my staff again.
<Luis> ... *sigh*
<Serra> Oooh, do I hear the sounds of fighting? *wanders off*
<Luis> Of course, the moment there's trouble you head right towards it...
<Serra> Oh, look! There's a pretty young woman fighting those bandits! How delightful. :3
<Luis> Would you please keep your voice down...
<Bandit> Oi! What are you 2 doing there! Ganging up on us, are ye?
<Serra> Eeek! Luis, save me!
<Luis> ... *sigh*

The bandit shot at Luis with a bow and arrow, and he quickly counter-attacked with a flame spell, doing serious damage to the bandit. The sounds of the fire crackling called our attention.

<BB> Oooh, hey, new people. I'mma go talk to them.
<Athena> Alright, good luck. >_>
<BB> You there! Pink-haired girl! Purple-haired boy!
<Serra> Greetings! :3
<BB> So, uh, why are you guys fighting the bandits too?
<Luis> They started it. :|
<Serra> Yes, they thought we were with you so they attacked us. Now how are you going to fix this situation?
<Luis> We wouldn't have gotten noticed in the first place if you hadn't been shouting... -_-;
<BB> Well, why don't we team up? We can take care of them faster if we work together.
<Serra> That is a splendid plan! Luis, be a good boy and go help these people fight.
<Luis> ... *sigh*
<Serra> As for myself... I happen to be a very amazing cleric. If you insist, I suppose I could help heal you free of charge. It's for a good cause, after all...

I spied a useful contributor in Luis, so I focused on giving him the majority of the kills as we worked our way around the last few foothills and towards the boss. Thankfully, there were very few enemies, so the journey went by quickly. I spied an armory tucked away in the hills and I had Robin take a trek over to pick up a couple javelins for her and TGK. Eventually, BB, Robin, and Luis all teamed up to take down the boss in a single round before he could hurt anyone, and then the battle was over.

<BB> Thank you so much for your help! It was very, uh, helpful.
<Luis> You're welcome.
<TGK> To help such a beautiful lady is always my pleasure. *bows* TGK, a knight of House Caelin, at your service.
<Luis> *rolls eyes*
<Serra> A knight of House Caelin? Out here?
<TGK> Yes, we're escorting Lady BB to meet her grandfather, Marquess Caelin.
<Serra> Ooooh... such important people.
<BB> Unfortunately, between the bandits and my uncle's hired assassins, we've run into a lot of trouble.
<Luis> Oh no... I see where this is going...
<Serra> Luis, we simply must travel along and help these people. Between my Staff and your Magic, we'd be loads of help!
<TGK> That would be wonderful!
<Luis> It sounds... dangerous.
<Serra> But we'll earn gratitude beyond imaging! Just think of the reward, Luis! Gold and gems...
<Luis> I... think I'm going to be ill. ._.;

Meanwhile, back at Castle Caelin....

<Lundgren> Argh, that stupid brat managed to make past the mountain brigands! >_<
<Soldier> Sorry, sir. :<
<Lundgren> Between her and that oaf of a brother of mine, everyone refuses to die. >_<
<Soldier> Yes, that, uh, does seem to be troubling, sir.
<Lundgren> Double the strength of the poison that you're feeding to that wretched old man. And send as many soldiers and assassins as we can spare to take care of that girl. I want her gone!
<Soldier> Y-yes, sir! Right away sir!

Player Notes

The tutorial is finally giving me more leeway in terms of actions. The only things I was forced to do this chapter were 1) have BB talk to Serra, 2) have Serra heal Luis, and 3) have Luis kill the Archer that he already weakened. I would have done all of those things anyway, so good job.

I wasn't kidding when I mentioned feeding kills to Luis. In fact, he got every single kill of this level; not many, but enough to get him up to 3.90. The general pace of the level was me sending either BB or Robin forward to lure an enemy closer and weaken them during EP, then let Luis kill them during PP, rinse and repeat.

Speaking of Luis, let's take a look at him. As a Mage, he wields Magic, obviously. Most Tomes in this game have a 1-2 range so he can attack both close by and at a distance, and he hits for Res instead of Def which means he usually does more damage to non-magical enemies. Unfortunately, he's kind of... squishy, so we need to make sure to keep him out of harms way. Looking at Erk in particular, neither his bases nor growths are all that hot, except for his Spd which is very nice. His main combat role will be to stay behind the front lines and snipe at high-Def enemies.

Magic works a bit different in the GBA FE games compared to other titles. There are 3 main types of Magic: Anima, Light, and Dark, and they form their own Magic Triangle: Light > Dark > Anima > Light. In general, Dark Magic has the highest Might but the lowest Hit and it's heavy and slow; Light magic is the opposite being fast and easy to hit with but doing less damage per hit, and Anima is a mid-ground between the two. We don't have a Dark Magic user on our team, but we will have Light Magic user in a few chapters.

Next chapter will bring us to Vom, everyone's favourite mounted archer. Hope you all enjoyed reading! <3

I would suggest creating at least one support with the "Athena," so I'll definitely vote for that. Also, if you feel like it you can create any other support needed. :) They'll be amazing either-way...

Chapter 6: Vom shoots down the competition!

After the battle, we made our way to the border crossing inn and spent the night. TGK and I took the time to educate the others about Lycian politics.

<BB> Wait, really? Snooze. I don't care about politics.
<Athena> Well, shut up and listen, because you're going to learn about it whether you like it or not.
<TGK> Lycia is a federation of territories.
<BB> Huh? What does that mean?
<Athena> It means that it's a collection of self-governing bodies. In the case of Lycia, each territory has its own Marquess that governs it. Right now, we're near Araphen, which is ruled by Marquess Araphen.
<BB> So Caelin is another one of those territories?
<TGK> Correct!
<BB> And my grandfather's brother Lundgren would like to rule, so he's trying to take me out so I'm not a threat.
<TGK> That's how it appears, yes.
<Luis> So, we've left behind the bandits but we're still going to have to deal with this Lundgren guy trying to take you out? Oh boy.
<Athena> Eh, don't worry about it so much. All of the guys we've fought so far have been a peace of cake.
<Luis> :\

After our night resting and recuperating at the inn, we moved deeper into Lycia and entered the city of Araphen proper.

<BB> Wow, this city is hueg. :O
<TGK> Second-largest city in Lycia after Ostia. Araphen has always been a staunch friend and ally of Caelin, so their Marquess should help us out.
<Vom> Better hope he's not a friend of that back-stabbing Lundgren, then.
<Villager> Ohnoes! The castle is burning!
<Athena> Wait, what? o_o;

Suddenly, a group of men burst in around us, mercenaries by the looks of them. It seemed like Lundgren's assassins had finally caught up to us.

<Merc> Oi! You're bbninjas, ain't ya?
<BB> Ummm... no? >_>
<Merc> Prepare to die!
<???> Not so fast!

Suddenly, a mounted archer galloped through the streets. He pulled out a bow and got a sweet Crit against the Merc attacking BB, killing him in one blow.

CG06.png

<BB> Sweet! Thanks for the help, bro.
<???> No prob. Always willing to stick up for my fellow Sacaen bros. *fist bump* Anyway, you guys should probably get out of here. the castle really is on fire and it's spreading.
<BB> We were actually on our way to the castle... do you know what's happening?
<???> The castle appears to be under attack by some nefarious foes and the Marquess has been kidnapped. I'm the captain of the guard here, so I'm trying to rescue him.
<BB> Well, then, let us help you out. I'm pretty sure I'm the reason these guys showed up anyway, and we need to talk to the Marquess.
<???> Sure, that's cool. BTW, I'm Vom, from the Kutolah Tribe.
<BB> I'm BB from the Lorca.
<Vom> Oh, wow. :O Well, we can chat about cool Sacaen stuff later. For now, let's retake the castle! We'll probably want to take the secret tunnel.
<TGK> How do we get there?
<Vom> Well, we'll need to hit the trigger switches to open the passageway. It's a special mechanic that you're going to get to learn about this chapter and then never use ever again. They're in the Barracks, but first we'll need to find a way to open the Barracks doors because they're locked.
<BB> Sweet, let's go!
<Athena> Alright, Luis, I'd like you to--
<BB> No, no, I want to go first. I'm going to visit that house.
<Athena> ... *sigh*
<BB> Hey guys! I found a thief to open the doors to the Barracks for us!
<Matthew> 'Sup?
<Athena> Alright, excellent. So now let's--
<Matthew> I'll go open that door! *rushes foward*
<Vom> The door is open and I see one of the triggers! *rushes forward*
<Athena> No one ever listens to me... ._.;

Eventually, I was able to organize things and get people acting cohesively. I sent Luis and Robin down south to get the second switch with a door key we got from one of the villagers, while the others went with Matthew into the main part of the Barracks. Matthew got some sweet loot for us from locked chests, including an Angelic Robe that I had him give to Robin. Robin then teamed up with Luis to take down the boss and press the last trigger to open up the secret passageway.

<Vom> Thanks for your help, guys! My men and I can take things from here.
<BB> Pfft, no way, we're coming, too.
<Vom> Fiiiiine~
<M.Araphen> Oh, it's Vom. Thanks for saving me I guess.
<Vom> No prob, just doing my job. BB and her group helped a lot, too.
<M.Araphen> Oh, you must be Marquess Caelin's granddaughter then. I'd like to speak with you if I may.
<BB> Yessir, thank you very much.
<M.Araphen> Vom, leave us.
<Vom> *departs*
<M.Araphen> Tell me, girl... do you know who attacked me here today?
<BB> I believe they were mercenaries hired by my grandfather's brother Lungren.
<M.Araphen> You are correct. Which means my castle was attacked and damaged all because of your family's petty inheritance squabbles.
<BB> Oh, yeah, sorry about that. >_>
<M.Araphen> When I heard that Lady Madelyn's daughter needed aid, I was going to help... but I've changed my mind. Be gone with you.
<TGK> Wait, what?
<M.Araphen> It's such a shame to see Lady Madelyn's child so tainted with the blood of Sacae...
<BB> WAIT, WHAT?! >:|
<M.Araphen> I feel bad for Marquess Caelin when he learns that his beloved granddaughter is nothing but a nomadic mongrel.
<TGK> Why I oughta....
<Athena> Peace, TGK.
<M.Araphen> Then again, I've heard the Marquess has taken ill, so he probably won't live long enough to meet her anyway. If he dies before you arrive, Lundgren will taken the claim to the throne anyway, so I think it's best for me to stay out of this dispute.
<BB> It's okay, we don't want your aid anyway. I'm proud of my Sacaen blood, and if you're going to be such a scheming racist asshole, then I'd rather not have help from you anyway. Come on guys, let's get out of here.

Before the Marquess could say anything else, BB turned on her heels and stormed out of the castle. The rest of us quickly followed her, and then we regrouped outside of the city before moving on.

<Luis> It would have at least been nice to grab a meal before we left... x.x;
<Athena> I've got some jerky, if you'd like.
<Luis> *omnomnom*
<BB> That guy may have been a jerk, but I don't think he was lying when he said my grandfather was ill. We'll have to hurry.
<TGK> Lundgren's probably going to keep throwing crap at us, but we'll get there, I promise you.
<Vom> Would you like some extra help?
<BB> Vom! :D
<Vom> So, yeah, I overheard the Marquess talking to you and I'm not going to take that crap. I quit, and then I also stole the gold he was originally planning on giving you as aid too.
<Athena> Whoa, 5k gold, sweet. :O
<Vom> So, yeah, mind if I come along and help you out?
<BB> We'd be happy to have you. <3

Player Notes

I wasn't kidding when I said we'll never see this mechanic in the game again. OH WELL. It was kind of fun, though.

The most interesting thing about this chapter is getting Vom and Matthew. Like I said in the OP, we'll be using Matthew for a decent amount of the game as a non-combatant to open doors and chests, but like most of the units that weren't "picked", he'll have a minimal combat and story role.

Speaking of Vom, let's take a look at him as a unit. He's a Nomad, which is a first-tier mounted archer class exclusive to FE6 and FE7. Bow Knights from FE9/10 are kind of close, as well, since they also wield bows and have mounts. Their promotion, Nomad Trooper, wields Bows and Swords and is very similar to Bow Knights of FE:A or the Horsemen of the Archanean Saga games. Vom is the only playable Nomad in this game at all. He's got good Str/Spd and of course excellent movement, though his Def could use some work.

His biggest downside is that we'll actually be missing him for a good amount of the game since he doesn't reappear until about halfway through Hector's Mode once we're done with this earlier story. As such, we'll still be working on giving him some levels, even though he's already pretty high leveled compared to the rest of the team, since that will help him later on in the game.

Only other real thing worth noting is the Angelic Robe we gave to Robin. She now has the second-highest HP of the group, behind only Dorcas. :U

Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Tomorrow we'll be meeting both PP and Celever.

Chapter 7: A whole bundle of new friends show up

Once we moved out of Araphen, we continued southwest towards Caelin, moving at all possible speed in hopes of reaching Marquess Caelin before he succumbed to his illness. The journey started out pretty uneventful, but when we arrived in Kathelet, things started getting interesting again as a young boy desperately called for our aid.

<???> Help! Please help us, kind sirs and ladies!
<TGK> Awww, someone called me a sir. :3
<???> Are you mercenaries? Please, I really need your help!
<BB> Sorry, but we're kind of in a hurry...
<???> But they kidnapped my sister SM, and she's really beautiful, too!
<TGK> A hot sister you say? I think we ought to listen to this boy's story...
<???> They're real awful brutes. I shudder to think what they'd do to her... my poor sister... she's everything to me...
<BB> Awwww... he looks so cute and sad. :< Alright, fine, we'll stop to help you quick. Lead us to them!
<Robin> Umm... BB... I don't think he needs to lead us... they're already here...

Sure enough, while we stood around chatting, evil-looking goons had crept up on us. For once, they didn't seem to give a crap about BB but were instead eyeing the young boy.

<Goon> Alright, Celever, come on with us. It's time to go back to Keeper now.
<Celever> No, you won't take me! And you give SM back, too! >:|
<Goon> Now, look here boy, you know I'm not allowed to kill you, but I can sure make you wish you were dead.
<BB> *draws sword* I don't think you want to threaten him anymore, you punk.
<Goon> Who are you, some bleeding heart?
<BB> Leave him alone, and let the girl go, too.
<Goon> Well, it's a shame for you to die over something that don't even concern you, but if it's a fight you want... take 'em down, boys!

The goon retreated and was soon surrounded by many of his companions, which included fearsome Shamans, wielders of dark magic. We had just gotten in order and were planning to rush forward when a rather pretty young man happened to approach us.

<???> Pardon me.
<BB> Oh, hey, a St. Elimine monk. 'Sup, brother?
<PP> I'm actually also a professor of Eliminean studies, and my name is Palutena, though you may call me PP if you wish.
<BB> Oh, hey, another double initial. I'm BB! :D
<PP> Pleased to meet you. :3
<BB> Can I help you with anything?
<PP> Well, you see, I happened to be in the inn when that boy Celever was looking for aid and I saw how they treated him... if you don't mind, I would like to help you in your fight against the boy's pursuers.
<BB> Oh, sure! The more the merrier!
<PP> As you may know, Monks like myself wield Light Magic that is strong against Dark Magic.
<Everyone> Oooooooh....
<PP> Here, let me demonstrate against this dude. *flings pretty shiny magic at the Shaman*
<Everyone> Ahhhhh....
<Celever> Oh! Oh! I can help too! :D
<BB> You fight too? o_o;
<Celever> Well... no. But I'm a Bard!
<Everyone> o_____o;
<Celever> *sigh* If I play music for someone, it'll let them be twice as effective! Look! *plays a flute song for PP*
<Everyone> *claps*
<Celever> What do you think? :3
<Athena> I think that if you only get 10 EXP for each song, it's going to take a long time to level you up.... -_-;;

With the nearby Shaman taken care of, we began to move further in, attacking the kidnappers in earnest. PP proved to be a quick and agile addition to our team and was particularly good at dispatching the enemy Shamans. We worked our way east around a mountain then south and back west towards the fortress where the group had holed up. Vom, Robin, and PP all worked together to take him out, and then we stormed inside of find Celever's sister.

<Celever> Sis! Sis! SM! Where are you? D:
<TGK> Welp, I see a bunch of guys on horseback riding away posthaste... I think they might have gotten away with her.
<BB> Well, we'll have to chase after them, then....
<Celever> We'll never make it in time....
<???> Might you guys happen to be looking for this young woman here?

Coming from deeper in the fortress, a young red-haired man was approaching with a beautiful woman in his arms.

<Celever> SM! :D Wait... is she's okay?
<???> She's lost consciousness, but she should come around soon.
<BB> So, uh, who're you again?
<NJ> Oh, me? I'm NotJim.
<BB> Okay, so, you're not Jim, but....
<NJ> No, seriously, my name actually is "NotJim". You see, my mom has a really bad sense of humour and... well, never mind. My friends call me NJ; it's easier. Anyway, my dad is the Marquess of these parts.
<BB> And how did you end up with SM?
<NJ> Well, she looked like a damsel in distress to me so, you know, I just kind of saved her. *shrugs* Was I wrong?
<BB> Nope, you did good. My name is BB, and I'm the granddaughter of Marquess Caelin.
<NJ> Oh?

An so we went out of dialogue mode for a bit so that BB could tell NJ her story about what was going on with me having to write it all done. NJ listened carefully and nodded at all the right places.

<NJ> Wow, this sounds like you're in some pretty tough crap. Anything I can do to help?
<BB> Nah, we should be cool. Take a break for a few chapters; we'll catch up to you again when it's time, I'm sure.
<NJ> Alright, cool, well, see you later~ *flees*
<Celever> SM? Oh, look, she's coming awake now! :3
<SM> Celever... what happened...?
<Celever> You got kidnapped and then these people helped me out and then a guy rescued you!
<SM> Oh, thank you... my brother and I, you see, we're traveling performers. He plays music, and I dance.
<TGK> Oh ho! Care to demonstrate? :3
<BB> *sigh* Not now, TGK.
<TGK> Awww... :<
<SM> Anyway, I've twisted my ankle, so I wouldn't be able to dance for you anyway, sorry...
<BB> Don't worry about it. I'm just happy you're okay.
<Celever> Do you think we could travel along with you guys?
<BB> I dunno, it'll be dangerous...
<Celever> Yeah, well, we're used to danger. SM and I can even sense when something dangerous is nearby! Between that and my flute playing, we'll be a big help to you, I promise!
<BB> Well... what do you think Athena?
<Athena> Sure, wynaut? Should be fun.
<SM> Hmmm.... oh, damn. Those kidnappers stole my ring. :<
<Athena> Ooooooh.... this sounds like a sidequest.
<BB> Think we can handle it?
<Athena> Hell yes!
<Luis> But what about hurrying to your grandf--
<BB> Sweet! Everyone, we're going on a sidequest! :D
<Everyone> Hurray! \o/

Current Team!

BB
- Lv. 5 Lord
TGK - Lv. 6 Cavalier
Robin - Lv. 5 Pegasus Knight
Luis - Lv. 5 Mage
Vom - Lv. 7 Nomad
PP - Lv. 5 Monk
Celever - Lv. 2 Bard

A fairly uninteresting chapter from a gameplay perspective, but a nice one for plot. We get to meet a lot of characters, though not everyone joins our party right now. Neither NJ nor SM will be playable until Hector's Mode, but we do get both PP and Celever.

PP is a Monk and wields Light Magic. Like I discussed in my magic ramble the other day, that makes him strong against Shamans/Dark Magic, but weak against Mages/Anima, though he has nice high Res, so even that's not much of a concern. PP is a stereotypical glass cannon: high offensive stats (Mag/Skl/Spd) but low HP and Defensive stats, aside from Res. Like Luis, he works best from the back row sniping at enemies from afar, though he also makes a good magic tank.

Celever is a pure support character. Unlike Refreshers in some other FE games, Celever has no attacking abilities whatsoever; he can only refresh and dodgetank. Thankfully, he's good at both. As I alluded to in the story, he gets 10 EXP per play, so it'll take a while to level him up, but we'll be getting him to to at least Lv. 7 before the end of Lyn's Mode so that we can access a special side chapter later in the game.

And speaking of side chapters, next chapter is our first, Chapter 7x. No new characters, though. In fact, we won't be adding anyone new to our team until we start with Hector's Mode.

Hope you enjoyed reading along! :)

o_o I come back and so much happened, since I didn't get any alerts I assumed nobody posted in this thread, but boy I've been so wrong. Sorry about that. Anyway I did catch up on everything. And it was a fun read. I love my nonchalant persona. thanks Athena :)

Also special thanks to BB for being my portable place to hide
and a special message to TGK: ಠ_ಠ
