To XieRH: All of my sketches for a new Kyurem keep coming out too close to the Sugimori art. xD Right now I've got one that I could use, but it's basically just the Sugimori art rotated 35 degrees towards the viewer. I wish we had more official references for it, especially a mouth-open reference (though its mouth seems frozen shut in the Sugimori art).

Its the same for Reshiram really. I hardly see reshiram pictures in which the pose is not outstretched wings.
Ive always imagined Kyurem's mouth being like that of an origin giratina. Or Maybe Groudon.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of its mouth opening that way before, but I could totally see it being that way... Gah. It just raises more questions than it answers! xD

Normally I don't like releasing the full versions of the artwork I make for the banners. I just don't want people using it for their sites (especially not in their site banner), which would become possible if I released the art. I just feel WPM picked me to make the artwork for his site's banners, so I want it used exclusively on PokéBeach's front page.
I'm fine with people using it for cards and signatures and avatars or whatever, but someone could always use it without asking and put it in their site banner. Maybe after a certain amount of time has passed, I'll feel more confident about releasing the art.

Oh, OK. I was just keen to use them for cards. If you ever feel like releasing them publicly, that's great! Otherwise, I totally understand your reasons, and will keep on appreciating all your art!

Yeah, but I don't mind that nearly as much as I'd mind someone using the art I made specifically for this site's front page without permission. The Sugimori art I make is for the public anyway, so I mostly require people ask permission just so I know who's using it and that they won't be misusing it (claiming they made it, or something).
As far as watermark removal goes, I've considered making it larger and transparent and covering a decent-sized portion of the art so it's harder to remove, but I wouldn't make the people who use it properly suffer.

Wow, the art for the front page banner is stunning. You did a fantastic job at capturing the four Pokemon in those great stances. It's nice to see something a bit different from your typical style, Xous. Great job, as always. I look forward to seeing Zuruzukin v.2 and Garchomp v.3 soon.

Yeah but a watermark is typically employed as a means to enforce authentication. If it is easy to remove, it defeats the purpose of it being there in the first place and is more of a trade mark rather than a watermark. In which case it might as well not be used at all (as it spoils the picture quality).
Ideally an optimal approach is probably a case-by-case basis where only those who have permission will be given the non-watermarked picture but that requires more effort... on the other hand, going for the convenient approach simply means you'd have to live with the risk of potential unauthorised usage (I've had one such case with one of my deviantart IDs being ripped and used... right on this very forum as an avatar )
