hello, baby pokemon is concidered basic pokemon, but, if my active pokemon attack a baby basic pokemon, flip a coin for attack?

example

vibrava vs elekid

thanks, because I´m confused.

That rule died a long time ago. They aren't even called Baby Pokémon anymore, we just know them as such as the games have them as the baby prevo of whatever they evolve into.

so that baby flip no longer applies? We still do that at our league xP!

That rule only applies on the Baby Pokemon before the EX Series...

But in the rule book for the first Diamond and Pearl set, on page 18 under Expert Rules it states:

a) If the Defending Pokémon is a Baby Pokémon, flip a coin to see if your turn ends without an attack. (If your turn ends without an attack, do not do any of the other steps. You are done now.)

All the new cards have a text on the top that says "Basic". In the old cards it was "Baby" and the rule points to those pokemon specifically categorized as "Baby". They have change to being normal Basic pokemon in the new cards. The rule does not apply to the new cards.

So the rules are written for unlimited?

For that specific rule, short and simple, yes.

Why they included it in the rule book like that? I don't know. Just confuses people apparently :/
