bacon's Art Thread

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Robots (pew pew), moles and bad drawings added

Actually after playing around with my tablet, I discovered it's actually kind of terrible haha. It jerks around too much even when the stylus is completely stationary. So naturally, I'm thinking about getting a new one... they're way more expensive than I remember though. :x

Also according to wikipedia Open Canvas no longer supports online capabilities, which is sort of lame as iScribble's small canvas size is pretty bad to work with and is beggining to frustrate me (still fun, but it's not enough space for 3+ people). Guess I'll go an internets cruise later and find a good site.

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Robots (pew pew), moles and bad drawings added

Laaaaame, OC's offline? Musta got unused from stuff like Chibipaint and iscribble. Failuuuure. D:

As for your tablet, have you tried going to the companies' latest driver for you model? If not, get a Wacom, srs. Even if they cost more they're the best tabby company I know of. I use a Wacom myself. :3

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Robots (pew pew), moles and bad drawings added

this art is RIDICULOUS. +1pt. for being on lined paper

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Robots (pew pew), moles and bad drawings added

Wow wow wow, you're very good. I love how clean the lines are, and how it varies from thick ones to very thin ones. The coloring is great, it's eye catching but not bright and annoying.

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Robots (pew pew), moles and bad drawings added

Man oh man I can't believe how good this new tablet is. Seriously guys those other brands can all go die in a fire- get a Wacom. Nothing to show yet as I'm still getting used to it, but hopefully I can get something done soon.

Thanks for the positive comments everyone! It's a nice morale booster considering I've been unhappy with my current art.

Also dudes hit me with a request because I dunno what to draw next haha

EDIT: Giovanna you have the scariest avatars lol

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Robots (pew pew), moles and bad drawings added

Haha, I know. I'm weird. I have to put up Steve Brule though ! (From Tim and Eric Awesome Show :) on Adult Swim)

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Robots (pew pew), moles and bad drawings added

Bacon- Ain't Wacoms AWESOME?

Mew. Pidgeot. Articuno. One of em. Pleaaase. I'm anxious to see em in your style. :3

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Robots (pew pew), moles and bad drawings added

The robot is terrific. And Latias is terrific. And Malevole is terrific. Is there a theme imminent?

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Robots (pew pew), moles and bad drawings added

Gyarados would be a good choice. :3 You can write up a VG thing on him too.

dmaster out.

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Robots (pew pew), moles and bad drawings added

Sorry I haven't posted here in awhile been busy but I like the Robot its nice.

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Robots (pew pew), moles and bad drawings added

Apparently Celebi is one of the best Gyarados counters in the game. I never really saw it myself. I mean...

Gyaradosisbig.png

...really?

There ya go dmaster, hope you like it. No doubt you'll spot a couple of my anatomical mistakes in this pic though! Eyes were left blank on purpose because I do love me some evil Pokes.

Competitive analysis errrrr well Gyarados is a pretty predictable fellow but he's still a force to be reckoned with, usage stats will tell you that much. While best known for his ability to rip teams apart with high attack and a stellar offensive movepool, his amazing typing coupled with Intimidate allows Gyarados to perform a solid defensive role too. Just don't get too greedy with those switches because Stealth Rock is the bane of Gyara's existence.

Offensive Dos has plenty of paper counters. Vaporeon is the best in the game with Hidden Power Electric, and our unfortunate friend Celebi does pretty well with Grass Knot or Leaf Storm. Rotom-a can take a hit and kill Gyarados with Thunderbolt or Discharge. But remember, Gyarados can hit hard, so remember to keep them at a reasonably high health. Gyarados isn't particularly quick at base 81 Speed, so even if he gets a Dragon Dance in you are still perfectly capable of revenging with a Scarfed Poke.

Defensive Dos will almost always be using the Rest and Sleep Talk combo, as well as Waterfall. The final attack is either going to be Roar or Dragon Dance. So yeah, he doesn't really have the element of surprise on his side. While a x4 Electric weakness and susceptibility to Stealth Rock limit his walling potential, a defensive dos is still going to be taking many of your hits and making life a pain in general.

I'll work on Articuno next, that tail is going to be fun to shade. And once again, thanks for all the comments people, I really appreciate it : )

@ Comments below:

sonicyellow: Thanks! I didn't forget about the second whisker, though. I think that, given the angle I drew Gyara's head at, the second whisker should be hidden? Who knows. Maybe mine is deformed.

I'll admit a mistake at this point... two of Gyara's fins are missing (they should be 1/3rd and 2/3rds along the body), but I can easily fit them in once I get around to coloring the pic.

Crystal Hikara: Haha yeah, I really did exaggerate the sizes for max effect. Gyarados should be 21'04'' long, and weigh 518 lbs. Celebi on the other hand is 2'00'' and 11 lbs. I guess my Gyarados must be roughly twice the size of a regular one (if only I could catch it...).

Starforce: Oh dude, you mean the Dark Gyarados from the Team Rocket Returns set? I love the style they used! It's one of my main artistic inspirations, as you can no doubt tell from my shading style. The Dark Gyara card was one of my faves, alongside Dark Dragonite and Dark Slowking. But man they all rocked, really. <3

EspeonROX: Yeah I kinda preferred it without pupils in my non-inked sketch, but I think that when I get around to coloring it I'll add the pupils so everyone is happy. And perhaps Celebi can travel back in time and beat Gyarados when it's a lowly Magikarp? The world may never know...

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Gyarados added, Celebi is pretty screwed

Gyarados and celebi look AWESOME :)

you forgot the 2nd whisker on gyarados though.

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Gyarados added, Celebi is pretty screwed

LOL, poor Celebi XD Sure looks like it's having a good time out there! I don't quite think G-man's that big in comparison ;D

Ohhhh, Hidden Power...-just- discovered the last move for my Vaporeon! Thanks! (Stupid Gyara knockin' me out most the time mumble grumble...)

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Gyarados added, Celebi is pretty screwed

Wow that is nice I love the whole feel of it that gyarados reminds me with the way you shaded it of a Dark Gyarados I drew a long time ago it is nice so is Celebi I can't wait for Articuno as well seeing the shading and positioning for it will no doubt be Awesome.

Its harder to find you now that your just a member lol but not that hard with a name like Bacon its pretty easy to pick you out from the other online members

OH COME ON lol. That's the biggest Gyarados I've ever seen.

Great job bacon. I'm kinda neutral on the no eyes. I mean, yeah, it looks more beastly, but the eyes do something special to Gyarados; they invoke anger and sadness at the same time.

At any rate, I love the Celebi touch and the writeup. The shading is once again, superb.

dmaster out.

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Gyarados added, Celebi is pretty screwed

Yeah I mean the R set one I love the Dark Variants as well they were so sweet looking

but one of my faves is Dark Tyranitar from EX Team Rocket Returns not the Older sets.

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Gyarados added, Celebi is pretty screwed

I don't care what anyone says. Amazing job. I love the no-pupil eyes, it's evil and hatin' on Celebi who would definitely own that Gyarados. Not kidding. Time-travel anyone?

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Gyarados added, Celebi is pretty screwed

Ma-le-vo-lole. Malevolent + mole. ucandoit

Also bacon, I would like much to make a card with Articuno so don't make him too tall pls ^_^

KJDBKCSCFB

So I've been playing around with MS Paint, it's a neat little program that unfortunately gets overshadowed by Photoshop and friends. Although I'm still rather partial to traditional art, having easy access to all colours imaginable is really cool...

Here's some stuff

Pokemon:

TyranitarPaint.png

Oh Tyranitar, I always draw you so fat. Tried to put an angle on this to make him look more intimidating.

Dark/Steel type Starmie

I'm going to hell.

RBY Magnezone

A quick sketch of Magnezone, lovingly using the Red/Blue colour palette. He looks somewhat creepy and menacing, which fits well with the RB theme I guess?

RBY Exeggutor

This guy was really good back in the day, it's a shame he's been nerfed so much since then. Once again coloured with the RB palette.

Fakemon:

81_Villama_Hidden.png

This is my idea for a Poison/Ice Llama. He likes to spit at people. He dislikes everything else.

Malelovole

I have drawn this guy too many times. I don't even like him that much.

Bohrtom

Bohrtom however is pretty cool.

What are those blue shadows all about?

*I am also in the process of adding a bunch of stuff to the first post, as well as removing all the things I am unhappy with (i.e. most of it).*

RE: Bacon's Art Thread- Updated with MS Paint things

The shadows are evolutions..? Great work again, bacon, but T-Tar is again too fat.

dmaster out.
