In my case they took 1/4 of my brain and then they started again after 9 years but that is beside the point. It was hard on them so to prevent any further problems for everyone they cancelled the episode and the production of the episode. People are sometimes affected by flashing lights or even if they looked at a bright light then a seizure would start. I used to know someone in high school that was in a wheelchair because she was paralyzed from the waist down and had to wear a bike helmet all the time because if she looked at the florecent lights in the school she would have very bad seizures. I hope you understand now why they cancelled the episode. If you want to watch them that is fine but the majority of the population who can't watch that episode had bad seizures and it did enough to cancel the episode. If they had aired this episode Pokemon Game freak would have had to pay a hefty fine so at the time they did what was right and they cancelled it to avoid trouble of any kind. It was a pretty big bolt of lightening anyway and yes it was enough to cause a person serious harm. Take into consideration of how many affected and how serious a seizure can be. Mine are mild but they can be so severe that they can do serious harm to a person. Please look it up sometime because seizures are much more serious than you think.
You basically hit the nail on the head, but I am pretty sure c88 knows what seizures are, lol. And for the beach episode, that should of been banned, yeah, I you tubed it.

I don't think he understands because they are very serious but can be controlled with the right medications. Sometimes people do not know if they are having them like me and there are types that can't be seen at all to the naked eye so yeah it is more serious then you think C88.
When you watch the show on any sattelite dish the images are very bright on the cartoon chaneels. I had Bell ExpressVu in Canada the color was so bright that it was bright enough to induce a seizure to anyone with a sensitivity to light that causes seizures in some people. On the other hand the brightness is darker compared to a regular Sattelite. On Direct TV here it is very bright also. If the japanese people watched the episode on a sattelite I can see the problem because the imaging was way too bright. That is also a similar case with the Sonic game on Gamecube. After watching my friend play his Sonic game for about an houe my head would start to hurt because it is so bright. Sattelite companies need to tone down their brightness on their sattelites. Sure you will see an add for Direct TV saying they have the best picture. The reason is BECAUSE IT IS TOO BRIGHT. The picture is excellent but they need to work on lessong the brightness because it can lead to serious problems.

Well brightness = better to certain people. I believe they have setting son the TV you can probaly change if you look in the owners manual.

I saw the bueaty and the one on youtube, but yeah... I would like to see the dratini one because I am always hearing about how ash caught 30 tauros but have no idea how he got them.
The only reason that one was banned was because it took to much time or something and has never aired here. I wish they would air a 1 time special on CN except foe Electric Soldier Porygon. The Rest are air waveable. I wish they would just cut the bad parts and run the episodes. They cut bad parts in movies so why not shows. I rhink they should air them after editing the bad parts out. That way everyone will at least get to see the full episodes.

Are you talking about the Dritini episode? That one was banned for violence. Some old guy, that owned the Safari Zone, had a gun. He kept pointing it at Ash and actually fired at Team Rocket several times.
I saw this one last year. I didn't think it was very violent. The gun was just meant to be humorous.
I think they should of just done what you've suggested. Edit out the bad parts.

That's right. I have heard about that but that episode killed many Japanese people. The are still afraid to release it since there are a lot of people light sensitive to siezures and have not aired this episode. In the best intrests of the people they will never air this episode but should air the rest with edited scenes.
I have a copy of the original aired ep(on my computer) from a freind in japan.

No one was killed... go look it up on Bulbapedia.
And still, they could replace the flashing red-blue lights with a regular explosion, like they do sometimes currently in the anime. ._.
I'm mad at 4Kids for quite a few reasons, but one of them is that they did not dub that episode, and the seizure-inducing version should not be the only version out there. And, I want Porygon/2/-Z back in the anime!

They tried to do that with Beauty and the Beach, but... it was real short when they did it.
They could have made the tam rocket scene longer to fill the blank up. but they did not think of that because they would have to do a do-over and redo the whole episode so it was easier just to cancel that one.

Then none of this would have ever happened.Again, my main complaint about the Porygon episode (which I'm sure you've heard a thousand times already) is that the seizure-inducing version SHOULD NOT be the only footage out there.
