base set?

can someone please explain base set 2 to me? It came out after bases et, Is it because they were gonna keep the same cards but have the collectors value go up for the originals? and then legendary collection is basically the base set with like, a couple jungle cards thrown in

It was a cash grab by Wizards. The reprinted sets were done because I think either we were about to get the original base/jungle rotated out. I'm not entirely sure on that one though.

Yes, one of the reasons was this it was a cash grab from Wizards no doubt. Another reasons is that the bae set cards were considered "too old" to play in tournaments at the time so they reprinted them.

Speaking of this base set reprint stuff, I'm kinda shocked they just haven't reprinted the entire set yet again or a majority of it and toss in other favorites from like Jungle and what not. We have a few reprints as secret rares, and the amount of money they can rake in if they did something like that? Or with the SP's, I'm shocked they didn't try reprinting a few Gym Leaders as secret rares just due to what the SP's were, either gym leader, elite 4, galactic, champion, or frontier brain pokemon.....Maybe we'll see some sort of gym leader set again but with the older style now with the shift back to johto and the slower game pace. Considering old GL pokemon had to evolve still, Misty's Horsea into Misty's Seadra for an example. One reason why I really hate the SP's pretty much.
