Beautiful Animation + Art on TV

While most people consider cartoons to be low-brow children's entertainment, to others it's a high art that is difficult to perfect.

Share the cartoons that you think are particularly beautiful, whether it be because of its animation, art style, writing, plot, etc..

The most beautiful cartoon to me is definitely Motorcity on Disney XD. Even though it's only been on a few months, the characterization has totally won me over. I never thought flash animation could be pretty, nor did I think Disney would come out with a TV show that isn't horrible. The animation is flawless and the action is non-stop. A perfect program; I definitely recommend it to anyone who appreciates lively, expressive art.

What is your opinion?

MLP, Adventure Time, Motorcity, and Gravity Falls are probably the best cartoons on TV right now. Legend of Korra and Regular Show are pretty solid too.

Ed, Edd and Eddy is a pretty unique show and I haven't seen anything like it. It stands at number three in my favourite cartoons right behind Adventure Time and Johnny Bravo. Everything about all three of them are perfect.

Cartoon Network was the best. Adventure Time is the only cartoon worth caring about nowadays imo.

I agree. It's a shame that they've decided to cancel Motorcity. But I have hope that the petition and fans' letters may at least get the IP back to Titmouse Inc.

I love Ed, Edd N' Eddy! I was watching when it first premiered on Cartoon Network. :) The humor is so unique and ingenious.

There are a few good modern cartoons besides Adventure Time. What do you think about Regular Show?

I love Adventure Time's art work. It has a fun, simplistic style that shows others that you don't always need to drown your art with details.
But I personally think that all of Miyazaki's works (Studio Ghibli) are amzaing all around. They all have lovable characters, a deep story/ theme behind them, and are enjoyable to watch over and over

All of the newest Pokemon BW-RD shows have been great!
The first Bionicle movie is one of my fav's
and The Backyardins! It's a funny show that has a lot going for it, even though it's a little kids show I still love it!

As far as movies go, my favorite movie happens to be a cartoon called Tekkon Kinkreet. The art is incredible. Every time I watch it I get more and more impressed.

Spongebob is a show that has amazing writing, and even now I still love watching it. Some of the old art from the first season is really cool too.

Spongebob nowadays is hit or miss. But spongebob is definitely one of the greatest shows.

My favorite cartoons are:
1- Foster's home for imaginary friends-Easily the best cartoon ever on cartoon network. it's funny, imaginative, and all around awesome.
2- Adventure Time/Regular Show- The show has so much versitality in themes and such that its just amazing. its art is good, good voice, everything is awesome.
3- Pretty much anything Genndy Tartakovsky has worked on (Dexter, PPG, Samurai Jack, 2SD)
4- Johnny Bravo- Great jokes great animation, cool art.
5- Secret Squirrel- Just real cool

I ADVISE EVERYONE TO WATCH BOOMERANG STARTING AT AROUND 8PM FOR AWESOMENESS.

If Anime counts, definitely FLCL, Eureka 7, and a more serious one Casshern Sins. Started watching FMA.

My favorites have always been Courage the Cowardly Dog, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, MLP: FiM and of course, the original X-Men cartoon. (I'm way too young to know that cartoon but thank you so much, Nostalgia Critic!)

If we get onto the subject of anime, we'll be here for hours. So I'll just stick a few of my current favorites in there, being Axis Powers Hetalia, One Piece and Madoka Magica.

OMG! I love The Backyardins! :D I also really like adventure time, regular show, pokemon, simpsons, familyguy, fosters home for imaginary friends, spongebob and fairlyodd parents. :)

Anime is naruto and DB and DBZ

I think it must be the imagination? I mean, they can do anything on the show because its their own little world.

Agreed. Foster's had such fun characters too. :3

Backyardins is a great kids' show. I love its musical and imagination aspects.

I just watched MLP F,I,M for the 1'st time. It's good! Very funny and the animation is great:)
