Exactly the opposite for me. Adding contrast doesn’t make it better. This card is cartoony and rather bland. I prefer the original which is much more dynamic and line less style always slaps. This one is cute as well, but the orange bothers me a lot personally.

But in general I’m schocked how people voice their opinions on art styles here. It’s one thing to dislike it personally but looking at any piece of art you look for the artistic choices made and if they cater to the intended idea. All if these do which people can and should judge objectively.
 
Damn all of them look cool. My favourite of those is Blood moon Ursulana EX.

The Terapagos EX looks cool but I honestly don't know what I'm looking at when looking at the card. I like the colours though.

I think they are English/international exclusive. Both Greninja ex and Kingambit were cards that would not have traditionally been reprinted in this year's EOY set. Neither are playable, so there is no reason to reprint them in JP, especially even further into the future.

They might/will probably find their way to other Asian countries like the Charizard VMAX alt in SWSH though.

Kingdra still has a chance I suppose though it's closing.

I’m almost sure VMax Climax, idk about VStar Universe, had alt artwork for cards that weren’t playable and from year 01. I don’t think it was that unreasonable for them to be in this set

I think Blissey SIR is guaranteed. There must be one colorless ex that gets a SIR between Noctowl and Bouffalant dex number and only Blissey and Slaking fit, but it'd be way too soon for Slaking. Raging Bolt SIR does seem to be confirmed as well
 
Gholdengo is just vibing. Love it. I also really like the Ogerpon. The amount of intricate detail by the artist when you look at it closely is very good

All high class sets whatever ex/V/VMax card gets reprinted in the base set gets an alt art you just have to look at the list. What got revealed today also pretty much confirms it. I’ve got the alt arts in the set as

I’m sure there are a few more aswell to come. For me. Gengar ex was Temporal Forces and disappointingly never got an alt art. But I’m not convinced it’s coming looking at the list. I’m still hoping it gets one here. It’s looking like we going from SV4-SV7 which makes sense as Paldean Fates went from SV1-SV3a. Also not forgetting the 5 gold cards either

But as Ive mentioned VMax climax did have cards from the first 3 SWSH sets, sure they weren't the focus but they were there (the ones I remember are Zacian V and Centiskorch V/VMAX). Also I believe the reason why all dlc paradox are here is because Japan is getting the alt art finally, as in still double rare rarity no SR nor SAR, the cards we got in tins. But I dont think Iron Leaves ex for example will get a SAR. 199 should be a supporter UR (full art) and 200 should be Leafeon ex SAR. And Ogerpon obviously being 201, there is no room for I.Leaves. Although I. Leaves is a mascot of a main set so it is possible it gets a gold card
 
Not a fan of any of these art styles personally, other than the Friends in Paldea which is alright.

The Ogerpon looks dope but the BG kills it for me

Prefer the current SARs for the cards that have them already and never been a fan of Jerky although the Pult is decentish.
