Ruling Beedrill RR ruling?

In the case of Alakazam you would search your deck, but you would not be able to place an Alakazam onto Alakazam. It is considered an illegal evolution.

I see. So Smeargle/Clefable/Clefable ex/Mew ex can't evolve into Alakazam, even though "Ultra Evolution" specifically states to put a card with "Alakazam" as its name on top of the Pokémon who used the move. The reason behind this is because of a statement in the rulebook.

Did I get that right?
 
That is correct. Sometimes all it takes is a little common sense and a look in the rulebook. ;p
