My opinion on the set:
Exeggcutor: OK, but probably would only see play as a tech for Rayquaza decks in Eggs, but I doubt it.
Beautifly: Terrible, safeguard on a Stage 2 nope!
Ninjask: Would be good if it didn't limit the ability to the active pokemon AND if Lysandres trump card is in the format. It might be OK with Eggs and Keldeo EX, but I think it has too many setbacks.
Shedinja: Interesting attack. Would need to be ran with Floette (Finally a use for that guy!). It could be something with stage 1's bypassing silent lab, but with the low HP I can't see a huge competitive scene with this card (but I was wrong about night march...)
Thundurus EX: 1st off, this is probably one of the worst graphics I've seen on a card in awhile. 2nd, its attacks are too hefty for it to be good.
Banette: VERY COOL CARD! While it actually doesn't work against Garb, it will be amazing against anything with Spirit Links, Hard Charms, Float Stones, Muscle Bands etc. I'm very happy to see this card in a heavy-tool format! While its a stage 1, that never stopped anyone from playing Garb, so I think this guy will see a lot of play.
M Gallade EX: I think this guy will be just as overhyped as Mega Gengar was. In theory, you can do a lot of damage by the 2nd turn with probably Foretress/Crobats as a side line. I don't think its consistent enough to happen though as it needs many things in place for a T2/T3 attack. Also, he's psychic type...and Mewtwo is REALLY big right now. Fairies, Toad, and other decks run Mewtwo, and with 5 energy between pokemon and a muscle band Mewtwo OHKOes you (220 hp sucks for him). I'm still unsure about him but I don't like it too much.
Absol: #memories. I wish this card was changed slightly though for this format. Maybe 5/6 damage counters? Seems like a lot, but honestly 3 was a lot back in the old ex series with low HP Exs, so it should have been modified for higher HP EXs in this format.
Jirachi: 2nd attack seems interesting, but not too playable.
Dragonite (non AT): I really like this ability, but being a stage 2 kinda sucks and so does his attack.
Salamance: Hey...3 attacks are back! Nothing really good here still.
Latios EX: Overhyped, 40/60 is OK first turn, but nothing to revolve a deck around.
M Latios EX: I do kinda like this guy. Works well with the new energy and the turbo card. It OHKOs many non EXs, as well as Shaymin, Jirachi, Victini EXs. I could see a bats variant to this deck, but it seems very techy with a lot to get for it to work efficiently.
Reshiram: I personally don't think he's that good, but the ability works. He has to be active and probably wont attack/do damage (unlike yveltal to power dark and landorus to power fighting), which I really dislike. That said, being able to double attach is usually really good in the TCG and I don't doubt he will get play.
Dunsparce: Dig Dig...'nuff said
Rayquaza/Mega Rayquaza/Shaymin EX: All probably amazing and just gonna skip the hype train to talk about other stuff
Unfezant: Is the 2nd attack correct? Seems very...odd. If thats real then energy and items get scooped back into the deck, essentially 'resetting' the board without taking away the current gamestate. I doubt it will be good due to it being a stage 2 and needs 3 energy, but I could see a gimmick deck with this.
Revive: I always liked this card, so I'm happy its back. Even in the EX format, I think its a good edition because it doesn't abuse Shaymin/jirachi, and has to be a basic pokemon. This is really helpful in stage 1/2 decks too, so I think it could see play again!
Trainer's Post: Terrible name IMHO, but great card. Odds are you'll get something good...I'd replace bicycle with this card.
Mega Turbo: Seems good in theory, but might have a few flaws in practice. You DO need a mega in play with basic energy in the discard, but I dont think that that will be TOO difficult. I don't expect many T1 Quazas though (like the T1 night spear of today)
Wide Angle Lens: I like the idea of this card, but it scares me too. Thinking about Landorus doing 60 to the bench is really bad. Mr. Mime will see some more play, which will reduce the likelihood of this card doing well.
Winona: I think this card is good, but I only think a 2-4 winona Ultra ball is needed in a C deck. You only have 5 (or 8) benched spots in a Rayquaza deck. Considering the amount of pokemon they play to make the deck effective, I don't think an excessive winona count is needed. Also, Ultra helps you get more Shaymins into play.
Wally: Needed and happy its a card in format. Toad may start to struggle against stage 1/2 decks, but its still iffy to me whether this will be good competitive or not.
Double Dragon Energy: I think this card can be good in the right builds. Every dragon themed deck WILL want to run this card in the future.
FA Pokemon: Disappointed, the art sucks outside of Rayquaza and Shaymin.
FA Supporters: Love Winona, Wally meh
SRs: Love VS seeker (it has a tail ), Energy Switch meh
Lotta cool stuff in this set, hopefully more good cards come in the english Roaring Skies!
