Fun Best Theme Deck

Hi, I play the Pokemon online game, and I wanted to know what is in your opinion the strongest theme deck out there. Thanks.

This is not competitive. Strongest theme deck = strong top decking / all theme decks equally suck.

I would probably say Furious Fists Pangoro deck is one of the better theme deck. It has somewhat decent draw support and has energy efficient attacks.

We all know theme decks are not something you bring to big tournaments (except to troll). But we should be respectful of the question; one I think is valid, ESPECIALLY for new players who need decent cards to start (particularly trainers).

One of my fave things to do when going through a tightly budgeted time is getting together with a couple of friends and dropping $50 on 2 theme decks and 3 boosters from a set, and using these to make a deck. Doubling theme decks can get you something like a 4-4-4 Greninja line which is nice.
That being said; a good theme deck is basically one that has good trainers, and a few good Pokémon (ideally good basics, but some heavier evo lines are good too).

Pangoro (Dark Hammer) is a good deck, because there's some good draw, search, and Landorus is there to provide cheap attacks and energy acceleration. Pangoros attack is good too because it discards a card from your opponents deck, and the Pancham has an attack which lets it evolve into Pangoro... ALWAYS an amazing thing for theme decks.

The BREAKpoint theme decks (Wave Slasher and Electric Eye; starring Greninja and Luxray respectively) are also good, partly because they come with FFB (Wave Slasher) and Max Elixir (Electric Eye). Especially for doubling.

So have fun! I think battling theme decks is good fun because it can put people on more even footing than using "real" competitive decks. And there's less stupid topdeck factor when you double them, or add in a few packs :)!

to be clear

I want your own judgment to choose the best theme deck for online tournaments in the category " theme deck " , so no changes

Just grab a Pangoro, Slyveon, Yveltal, sometimes Xerneas, or the BREAKpoint decks. Those are the ones I have the most knowledge of, although the AOR decks could also be interesting.

Pangoro is the most famous for being "the best theme deck" so if you play it you'll run into a lot of mirrors; and people play Slyveon or Xerneas to counter it a bit (but they're decent in themselves).

Overall though Dark Hammer can only be so good; I've played (and won) PTCGO tourneys with it but if your opponent is playing ANY other theme deck and topdecks nicely while you do not... gg. It's subject to dead draws like basically any other theme deck.

As a side note, I hope others share my enthusiasm with doubling theme decks xD

For me, Dark Hammer is the best theme deck. It don't have an auto-loss against any deck (like grass deck has to fire, fire to water) because Machamp and Hariyama has Psyquic weakness (get easily 1HKO only by Gallade from Mental Might), but Pangoro helps with Psyquic resistence, Landorus has Water weakness (simply dont use against water deck, but it's really helpful against any other deck). It also has the best trainer line.

The actual Basic Green is also very strong, has a great trainer line (17 trainers, all good for a theme deck). Has two of the strongest pokes in theme decks, Shiftry for draw advantage and great 1HKO potential, and Chesnaught which is capable to finish the game on its own, specially with the 2 Potions and 2 Pokemon Center Lady and the VS Seeker. When playing this deck, you should focus on trying to stall your opponent with Simisage or leave Tropius taking hits from the beginning with Lucky Helmet. Of course it doesn't work always, but you should always try to make it possible.

Yes, I share the same enthusiasm with doubling theme decks, I would love to see a format in PTCGO which the decks are made only from cards from theme decks combined (could be 4 Dark Hammer together).

Furious Knights one was pretty good. It had the old Durant in it. Mill ftw!

Dude... chill... we all know theme decks are not something you bring to big tournaments (except to troll). But we should be respectful of the question; one I think is valid, ESPECIALLY for new players who need decent cards to start (particularly trainers).

Tbh we are in the competitive pokemon thread, so my answer will be the most honest answer I can give, all theme decks are equally balanced no matter how new or old they are, so strongest theme deck = strong top decking, they all equally suck is a realistic response, do you enjoy playing in a format where nobody is more challenging then you? Why play a competitive game. Also this person didn't seem like they wanted good cards to use outside of the theme deck but just an op theme deck to use in versus.

No flaming guys.

The theme deck format has a bit more luck involved than Standard of Expanded. No one theme deck is really any better than the other--at least it would seem that way. What Yo-yos said is to some extent true, or at the very least he has the right to say so. There's no need to be bothered by an observation, even if it was a little blunt. That doesn't mean, however, that he would be right to say that there's no point in discussing the topic at hand. While I'll agree it's not exactly a highly competitive subject, it does require some understanding and thinking about the game, and there are probably a few insights we can provide that would be helpful for the OP.

For example, I think that in such an inconsistent format, generally speaking the decks that will do the best are the ones that are low maintenance. Few Stage 2's, more Basics, lower attack costs, etc. I also think Weakness is a huge deal. Something that has an uncommon Weakness would be nice. There's my input.

What @Mora stated, basically.

Theme decks, unlike constructed decks, lack the exact reason constructed decks are typically regarded as good: Consistency. We build our decks to win a large amount of games in a row in hopes to winning some sort of prize. Theme decks, unfortunately, are not built for that. That said, as Mora also stated, there is a good reason to discuss this and, more importantly, the best theme deck will always be the one with the most consistency.

So, when you ask what the best "Theme Deck" is, ask yourself this as well: "Which Theme Deck is going to allow me to bring out efficient attackers the most amount of times?"

Now, granted, this question will only take you so far. Weakness is definitely a much larger factor in a format where every amount of damage really does matter. On that note, cards like Hard Charm become much more valuable in these formats as well. The reduction of 20 damage can completely change the outcome of a game, especially when most Theme Deck Pokemon hit for very inefficient, low numbers. Remember: Most wins come from Knock Outs. This is no exception for Theme Decks.

Now, as far as a suggestion goes... Dark Hammer has always been one of the more successful decks. It has good damage output, a lot of Basic and Stage One combos, and most importantly, it uses Korrina, one of the best hand fixers for a "Limited Format" (She's a +1, allows you to grab not only a Basic Pokemon, but an Item, which is HUGE in a format where your deck is limited in card type numbers). Another reasonably good deck is the new Wake Thrasher deck from BKP. Greninja is pretty strong, can easily return the 1 Water Energy Card for 80 Damage, and gives you access to Slowking, who is EXTREMELY annoying against slower decks. Also, Kricketune is a very efficient attacker, able to hit for 100 damage in two turns for a mere Grass Energy.

I hope this helps. Have fun, and remember to grab all 6 Prizes.
