Best/Worst Jobs You've Had?

Let's face it... we've all had some lame jobs. We all wake up and groan when we realize we have to go to work. What are some of your experiences? What were the positives? What were the negatives? Would you recommend someone to work there?

Me?

Movie theatres. Haunted the majority of my life. First job? Regal Cinemas. The ultimate job for sacrificing weekends and freedom to deal with long lines of angry people, serve popcorn and soda and possibly get covered in it. Repetitively offer combos and candies or larger sizes. And then cleaning up their mess when the movie is over. Worst part? Definitely cleaning up. Sometimes people vomit. Sometimes people poop all over the toilet. Sometimes trash juice leaks all over the place when you need to throw it in the dumpster. All this for minimum wage and no holiday pay! Also you're required to work Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday day as those are very busy hours. Positives? You get your hours and sometimes the people and Managers you work with are cool and laid back. Sometimes they're not though.

Retail experience also wasn't any good. While it does offer 1.5 pay on Sunday and Holidays, the hours don't come by that easily. You would have to sell very well and get people to sign up for credit cards to get your hours. It's very repetitive and competitive. It's hard to make money when you're getting paid barely above minimum wage but work like 20 hours a week. Retail is a good part-time second job to reap the benefits of discounts, Holiday pay and stuff. Best Buy is a great place to work as a second job but hours are brutal as they need people to be selling protection plans, credit card apps and reward zone cards. CVS is kind of similar but not as serious about it. Target is probably the best, you get your hours and you don't need to ask about the credit card. However you deal with a lot more dumb people... Another problem is wrong price tags... lots of people complain about that and make you walk around to show you the price... that's annoying.

I don't recommend any of these places to work at but if you need a job, these are kind of easy to get. Best job I've had? Working for Northeast Security. Literally just sat and watched cameras (while secretly playing my 3DS) for 8 hours. Easiest job ever. Till I got caught and fired on the spot.

Being a waiter... It sucks. People are rude, never tip, and you always do something wrong so they can complain more. I'll never go back to waiting tables.

I used to work in a pub. While the pay was ok (£6 an hour) the manager was rude, refused to let me buy a drink (non-alcoholic) out of my wages and did not help with rude customers.

Worst job I've had was washing dishes at a restaurant. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to work in the food industry.

I never liked any of my entry-level jobs. Some of my work now can get to me, but it's of a totally different caliber. It wasn't the jobs so much as it was the management I worked for. There's a trickle-down effect from management, and sometimes it can be pure gold, or a liquid that is gold in color. One job was so poorly managed that the stores rent never got paid on time, pay checks bounced, and the owner still didn't change his attitude towards managing the business. I was just getting into my 20s and was concerned that a 35 year old man could act like a very irresponsible, immature teenager.

Don't none of you have a positive experience working? Well I would guess not since working anywhere pretty much sucks. "Working sucks. Working... SUCKS! And it doesn't matter if you're in a bank, a department store, or a doughnut factory, because once you've been there long enough the only thing you'll care about is when your next pay increase is, how many vacation days you've accrued and if your health insurance is gonna pay for the cholesterol medicine that keeps your pumping no matter how much you put through it! Then! When you've gained 20 or 30 pounds because you're so uptight all the time, you discover that you're working for your father in law, in position with a gratuitous title and you're totally replaceable! AND! Not only is the new guy better than you, but he's got a better car, and better jokes and better hair! So no matter what you do, you make sure you MAKE A LOTTA MONEY DOING IT! Because it all sucks!!!"

Worst:
Pig farmer, even thought it was not a real job. It was just two weeks because I went to a agricultural school. The girl I was working with apprently understand who weak I am so she just kept pushing me xD. The first day when I went into the stable with all the pigs the smell was horrible, and the air was dusty because of the pig food. But worse was the boars, they smelled horrible. The funny thing was the girl I worked with had a gas-mask.. AFTER the first workout she asked me if I wanted one -___-

Cleaner:
I worked a month as a cleaner, only as substite when the ordenal staff was sick. I had anxiety every workout xD I'm not really sure why, but I think I didn't like that we were at different homes, and the other girl drived the car and I had no really clue were, because most customers lived outside town. I guess I felt that I didn't have any controll :/

Best:
I'm working part time as a personal assistent to a person girl. Not really my dream job, but still the best job I have had. Usually I do different things.. sometimes were only home and cleaning, cooking, londry and stuff. But many time I take her to the gym (always nice to be able to work out during working hours :p), play minigolf, go to the cinnema or go out and eat. And the employers pay everything :) Last winter I got to follow her to the Tenerife for a week. Employers payed the flight, hotel and food :)
