Gather around children and prepare for story time! Whether you're following a trail of breadcrumbs, trying to deliver a basket of goodies to your grandmother in the woods, or receiving help from a group of elves, there's always room in your life for a little bit of extra magic and adventure. Stories can often be whimsical and heart-warming tales of romance and excitement. However, when it comes to the collections of the Brothers Grimm, you will likely find yourself facing a dark twist you never expected. Treacherous twists, challenges, and competitors await you around every corner. But remember, when fairy tales are involved, you must expect the unexpected...
Welcome to Big Brother 14: Grimm! If you would like to take a spin at the game of Big Brother and apply, all you need to do is fill out this application form. Applications will remain open until March 16th, and once applications have closed a cast will be selected and the game will begin.
New to Pokebeach Big Brother, or maybe even Big Brother as a whole? That's alright! Thankfully, I will explain everything you need to know in this very post. In fact, even if you aren't new, it would be a good idea to brush up on your knowledge and read the post anyway. We want to make sure everyone enters the game with an even footing, and it would be unfortunate if you had no clue what was going on. Also make sure to check out the Pokebeach Big Brother Wiki and join our Discord server where the game will be taking place!
- The game can not be discussed with any member of the audience or any previously eliminated player. Upon elimination, please leave any alliance chats you are a part of. Or, if someone you are in an alliance with is eliminated, remove them from the alliance chat.
- Alliances are a very large part of the game. Thus, they are permitted and highly encouraged, and you may make as many as you would like. Alliances can be made through Discord group DMs, just make sure that the hosts are always included. One-on-one discussions should also always include the host.
- Screenshots will be necessary throughout the game for submitting scores, so make sure you are able to do so. When submitting your scores, you must show proof that the score belongs to you. There must be at least two forms of confirmation shown with your score. Anything from a PBB tab, to a tab with your username, to a notepad with your username, as long as you have two forms of proof you are good.
- While score screenshots are necessary for sharing with the host, you can not share them with any of your fellow players. Sharing a screenshot of a conversation with another player, your score, or anything game related with someone else besides the host is very strictly prohibited. Logs however, are allowed.
- NO PREGAMING. Pregaming is where you actively try to create alliances or connections with other people before the game begins. If you are caught pregaming, you will not be casted. If someone tries to pregame with you, please inform the hosts.
- Please abide by the spirit of the rules, not just the exact words. Loopholing the rules is strictly prohibited. If you have questions about the rules, simply ask and I will clarify any misunderstandings.
- Please ask production questions about whatever you’re confused about or if you’re ever unsure if something is okay or not. We will do our best to answer whatever you want to know and will be much more lenient on stuff as long as you’ve consulted us, so just ask and all will be good.
This is discussed in the rules above, but it is very important: make sure you have access to a device where you can take screenshots. If you are not able to take screenshots, you will not be able to submit for many of this game's competitions.
When submitting for a competition, if you feel that a score you submit is the one you want to keep, you may send LOCKED (capital and bold) following said submission in your diary room. This will lock in the submission, and guarantee it to be your final submission. This means this will be your final submission and you can not submit for that competition again. You can not take a lock back. Locking is not necessary, but if everyone locks before the deadline, the competition will end early. If not everyone locks in, the competition will simply end at the given deadline.
If you aren't sure that you are able to submit for a competition, that is okay, but you need to discuss the situation with the hosts. We can not know what is going on unless you tell us, so if you don't submit for a competition and don't tell us beforehand that you can't, we will have to give you an inactivity warning. We will be as accommodating as possible as long as you keep us informed.
You can also send in conditional submissions if you would like to throw. For example: "If NP or Lorde would be in second and I would be in first, I would like to throw to them". Conditional throwing is allowed, as long as production can understand the condition and it is not too complex.
There will be no competition bans for failing to submit for anything. However, that doesn't mean you won't be penalized. For every competition you fail to submit for (and also fail to tell me that you are unable to submit), you will receive a competition penalty on the next competition. If you fail to submit your nominations/veto usage/renominations on time, you will receive a double competition penalty and be given 12 hours to post the necessary thing, after which, if you have not submitted, your decision will be completely randomized. If you fail to submit a vote, you will receive a double competition penalty, but will not be given time to make up your vote. The competition penalties are as follows:
1st Offense: 10% reduction in score in your next competition.
2nd Offense: 25% reduction in score in your next competition.
3rd Offense: 40% reduction in score in your next competition.
4th Offense: 60% reduction in score in your next competition.
5th Offense: REMOVAL

If you’re familiar with the regular flow of the Big Brother game, you will notice that the game flows exactly the same as normal. Each week will play out just as it normally would, pending any possible twists that may or may not appear…
This game will be a Discord based game. Unlike previous Pokebeach Big Brother games, this season will be entirely played through Discord. All announcements, player actions, and the finale will happen within the PBB server. This thread will only be used to provide weekly updates at the end of each week.
The game flow:
Head of Household
(Also known as HOH). This is the first competition played at the beginning of every week. Everyone excluding the previous HOH competes in this competition, the winner gaining immunity and control over nominations for the week.
Nomination Ceremony
The nomination ceremony takes place directly after the Head of Household competition. The HOH will be given 24 hours to name two of their fellow players as nominees, putting them up on the chopping block for eviction.
Power of Veto
(Also known as POV). This competition is played after the HOH names their nominees. The HOH, the two nominees, and three randomly selected Houseguests will play in this competition. The winner receives the Power of Veto, and with it the choice to save one of the nominees, or keep the block the same.
Eviction
After everything else has happened, it's time for eviction. The players will all vote (excluding the two nominees, and the HOH unless there is a tie) for which of the two nominees they want eliminated from the game. The player with the most votes will be evicted from the house, and out of the game.
The game will go on like this for a certain amount of time, until the jury phase is reached.
The Jury
At a certain point in the game, it will be announced that the jury phase has been reached. That means that everyone left in the game will either be in the final two, or part of the jury that will be voting on the winner at the end of the game. The jury members will cast a vote for 1 of the 2 finalists to win the game.
Finale Night
At the end of the game, only two Houseguests will remain standing. These two players will be the finalists, which the jury will have to vote between who they think should win the entire game. During the finale, the two finalists will have the opportunity to plead their cases, while the jurors will each have a question that they can ask the finalists to help them decide who to vote. The finalist who receives the most votes from the jury will be crowned the winner of Big Brother 14 and enter the PBB hall of winners!
