"Welcome to Hell on Earth. In the PoV, you are on a scavenger hunt looking for a devil key in the backyard. (Roleplaying, not actual scavenger hunt) However, there is not just the one key. Ten keys are in the backyard, either in the pool, by the workout equipment, by the hammock, by the side of the house, inside one of three lava pools or in one of the devil statues. Now, the crueler twist. Each time you miss, you will be forced to sleep in the Jail Room, a special room with hard bed made of concrete with no color and sheets what-so-ever, for a week. Bring the key to Igor, the Giant Devil Statue. The pools and statues are labelled one, two, and three. Enjoy Hell!"

Good thing I know Dive... Dec thinks to himself. He launches himself into the pool.
Dec looks around. He thinks he sees something glinting at the bottom of the pool.
At last! Dec congratulates himself. As he approaches, a giant Tentacruel appears from the depths. Dec starts swimming in circles, the Tentacruel wildly chasing after him. A whirlpool starts to form. Dec adds his own Whirlpool, and the Tentacruel is sucked into the depths. Dec looks around for the glinting thing, but does not see it.
Darn!!! Dec gets very mad at himself. I either moved away from it, or my Whirlpool misplaced it... Dec thinks.
Dec quickly starts to scan the rest of the pool.

He said Statues that implies a plural and that means atleast two of them, and if I keep it at two - that means one location has two keys, or maybe multiple places have multiple keys. 10 keys in total; and he would NOT have mentioned the lava pools if there was not a lava pool to be picked from. Now since there are 10 keys let's do some math.
3 divided by 10 is .30 - Now that .3 tells me I would need to pick the third pool. If I get this wrong and I get put in the jail room I got an idea...

*Walks over to lava pool three and shoots some water into it to make all the lava disappear and when the smoke fades away he sees...*

Dec suddenly has a brilliant idea. Dec uses a tiny Whirlpool to unscrew the screws. Dec sees a tiny key, glinting in the faint light. Dec picks it up and starts swimming towards the surface.
Suddenly, the Tentacruel from earlier appears from the shadows and wraps Dec in it's tentacles. Dec lets the key from his grasp. His vision starts getting fuzzy. "No... Must... No..." Dec, nearly gone, fires off a weak Hydro Pump. It hits the Tentacruel in the eye. Reeling, the Tentacruel scurries off into the depth. Dec falls to the bottom of the pool. His last sight before the world goes black is a blue-ish Pokemon that looks sort of like a Buttterfree that goes into the wall and disappears...

As soon as the challenge began, Strawberry threw all logic out the window.
"Hmm, the lava pools would be hard to get into. Plus no one thinks that I, a Vanipeti, would want to go near the Lava. So I'll go near them, maybe I'll get noticed and make a few friends. Now, how would I get into the lava?"
She pondered for a second.
"I've got it"
Strawberry casted Rain Dance.
"When Lava hardens, it turns into rock. I can use Mirror Shot, a Steel attack, to break through the rock. Now I'm getting somewhere.
Strawberry began carving her way through Lava Pool 1, with both her Mirror Shot and the Rain breaking through the rock at a steady pace. She reached the bottom of the lava pit and...
