BIONICLE

I used to collect them when I was like..9-10. They were cool, but since they broke so easily you couldn't do anything with them, so I stopped.

Arcanine out.

I used to buy them all the time, then they became more and more expensive. I also got bored of them because I could just look at the picture and know how to make it. So now the only ones I consider are the larger ones that don't take me 30 seconds to build and are a lot more complicated.

I was an avid fan of Bionicle back in 2001-2002, my interest having carried over from Slizers/Throwbots (and, to a lesser extent, RoboRiders). Then the story began to get weird, and the sets eventually became too expensive.

I used to have one of them bionicles with faces as weapons. You know, the ones with switches at the back, and when you pull them, his head moves forward bashing your opponent. We invented a game for that, every single classmate of mine(except for girls) had one, and the rules was, to headbutt each other and the one to get the mask of wins. I also had the game cd I got from a cereal box.

They weren't Bionicle.  They were Rahi.  Tarakava, in fact.  Yes, I remember too much.
1. They were, indeed, Bionicle. Their sets' containers had the word "BIONICLE" on them.
2. They were the Bohrok, not the Rahi.

I agree...

I have to agree with you guys abot the pricing of the individual sets, although, I think they're pretty decent and worth the purchase if you decide to look past the price tags.

I thought that the 2001 story with Makuta was good, and the 2002 story with the Bohrok wasn't too bad. I was able to tolerate the 2003 Bohrok-Kal section, but I began to get doubts by the Mask of Light saga in late 2003. I was almost completely disconnected from Bionicle by the time they got through what happened during the past.

They should have given out consistent pronunciation keys; "LAY-wuh" (Lewa) turned into "LEE-wuh NOO-vuh" (Lewa Nuva).
Takua should not have turned into Takanuva.
Two or three years is a bit long to focus on something in the past, which could have been summarized within a year or less.
The time gaps are too implausible. 1000 years between Makuta's takeover of Mata Nui and the coming of the 2001 Toa? Come on!

Actually, I read somewhere that since BIONICLE characters are made of machines, they have longer lifespan than humans. So the timespan between times are longer

Bionicles SUCK!
