BW/BW2 Black 2 and White 2 Discussion Thread

Beat him - with your advice.

Now, I'm at the Elite Four, TRYING to beat Shauntal.

I must say that Black 2 is the most fun I've had with a game in a long time.

Heading into the Giant Chasm I have 9 Pokemon I've been using. Any suggestions on which 6 to use for the E4?

Ampharos Lv. 45
Flygon Lv. 45
Samurott Lv. 44
Terrakion Lv. 45
Cobalion Lv. 47
Virizion Lv. 47
Zoroark Lv. 42
Growlithe Lv. 44

Let's see.

Zoroark will be useful against Shauntal and Grimsley. Cobalion/Terrakion/Virizion will be useful against Grimsley, but as far as which one, I'm not sure. Flygon will be useful against Iris' Dragon types, and you'll need either Ampharos or Samurott for Iris' Archeops, her remaining two Pokemon you can just use whatever Muskedeer you chose. You still need something to use against Marshal, and I don't see any Psychic or Flying types on your team. The rest is up to you.

In addition to Bolt the Cat's post, Ampharos would be the better choice since she also has lapras.

I was to lazy to play this game again so I traded over a Zapdos and Breloom and swept through the rest. 14Hrs to beat, since I played normal up to the 5 gym.

Yeah, Ampharos would be good, but whichever of the Muskedeers he chooses also has a type advantage against Aggron and Lapras.

Forgot to mention I've got an Unfezant Lv. 42, so that'll help against Marshall.

I think I'll go with:
Zoroark
Random Muskedeer
Flygon
Ampharos
Unfezant
Samurott

I'll try to get them all at least to Lv. 50 before challenging.

I'm am trying to figure out my team for Black 2, does this look good?
Samurott
Lucario
Espeon/Jolteon/Vaporeon/Flareon (if I end up with an Adamant Eevee or something)
Arcanine/Ampharos (Ampharos if I get Flareon)
Krookodile
Flygon

I'll probably use other Pokemon at certain times, such as Magnemite for the poison gym, but this will probably be my main team throughout the story. I know people might say "oh you should use Darmanitan it's a way better fire type" or something, but I really don't like Darmanitan's design. Just if you see any major flaws. Suggesting Pokemon is good though, just not Darmanitan :)

You can get normal eevee from the small parl in castellia city

Yeah I know. It just depends on the nature of the Eevee when I catch it. (There's like a 5% chance or something so yeah).
Wait, what's a small parl? Do you mean in grass?

I believe he meant park, that you can only get to via Castelia Sewers

Oh, that makes sense. I knew you could catch Eevee somewhere around Castelia City. I was looking at Pokemon that you can get throughout the story on a walkthrough, so yeah.

What do people think about being able to catch a shiny Haxorus and receiving a shiny Gible/Dratini egg in Black/White 2?

I got Black 2 and shiny Garchomp looks almost identical to regular Garchomp, so I am not looking too forward to that, but Haxoros is another story.

Yeah, I agree Garchomp isn't anything to get overly excited about, but Haxorus is cool.
I like how they have a couple shinies, I just don't want them to lose their value...

Found this on Seribii:

Finally, when you manage to capture all the Pokémon in the National Pokédex (not counting event legends) and show it to Cedric Juniper, he will tell you his daughter has a present for you. This present is the special Shiny Charm. This item increases the likelihood that you will encounter Shiny Pokémon. When you have the item in your bag, then the chances of encountering Shiny Pokémon in the wild is increased to 33% of normal, making it a 1 in 2,370.6 chance. If, however, you\'re using the Masuda Method to breed, it increases it from 1 in 1,365.3 down to 1 in 1024.

Well, at least it's hard to get...better start collecting every Pokemon!
