Black and White Emerging Powers!

I'm a bit surprised this news hasn't been posted on the front page yet on PokeBeach considering PokeGym and other related sites got to the news first.

^But the english exclusive cards will most likely be pokémon already released in BW, so those 25-new pokémon are actually cards cut from BW...
Hold on, I'm sorry, I don't get what you're saying. First, you say that they were cards already released in Black and White (While the Krookodile in this set has an Ability; the one in BW did not), then you say that those cards were the 25 cards were cut from our BW...what exactly are you saying?

*breath* ok... 1st, what I said was that the new American exclusive cards (like Krookodile and Scolipede) will most likely be pokémon that already appeared in card form in the 1st BW American set (I'm not saying they're the same cards)...
2nd, the 25-new pokémon cards debut are cards cut from the 1st Japanese BW set (like Braviary, Tornadus, etc.)...

Not necessarily. That Krookdile has an Ability while the one in the original BW set did not. Therefore, I think that one can conclude that some of these could be American exclusives for the time being, unless they decide to release them in a future Japanese set...

honestly, I don't think Darmanitan is a pokemon in a position to be placed on the cover of one of the 4 pack arts...I thought zebstrika was a stretch, but this is pretty far. unless of course they have a different version of darmanitan in this next set so it doesn't suck so bad.
There's another Darmanitan. The one from the Virizion Battle Strength Deck.

Am I the only one that noticed, "One guaranteed foil card per pack"?

I think that's pretty cool. Now I might actually buy a box.
Reverse Foil is also Foil. But that would be great.

Seriously! Am I speaking Chinese? What part of "appeared in card form" you guys don't understand??
It's the last time I say this. What I mean is, the exclusive american cards will probably feature Unova pokémon that already debuted in the TCG. I'm not saying they're reprints... Jesus...

No need to be rude...we have already acknowledged that there will be the same Pokemon appearing as there were in the first english set. You made it sound like they were simply reprints of the cards we already got, like Call of Legends did.

yeah I saw it later...still not that great though :/

and Metalizard, you gotta chill out bro...this is just a social discussion, let's not turn it into an argument. we all know you're right in what you're saying...it just came across in a confusing manner is all.

Ok ok. The thing is... I said that once and the guy didn't understand... I said it again in other words, but people didn't understand it either... It started annoying me... It's just that... sorry

IMO, I don't think this set will be very useful. Maybe for collectors for the trio and full arts. But there aren't any decent cards. Beartic sounds good, being able to do 50 and have the defending Pokemon unable to attack, and Pokemon Catcher (Gust of Wind, anyone?) are the only cards I can see being played. Then again, I haven't seen the full set. Clearly, it has Japan's first B/W set (cards we didn't get.) and the Battle Decks, but there weren't too many playable cards there. Maybe though, the Scolipede and Krookodile will be playable. We'll see in August I suppose. But I will go to a pre-release!

dont forget. we only have 68 cards missing from black and white and the 3 battle strength decks.

so we still have another 30 cards open for other japanese promo, or english exclusives

The 'one foil card per pack' does not mean one reverse holo.

In the same sentence, it says that the theme decks come with a foil card.

If they are referring to reverse holos, it means that the theme decks now come with reverse holos.

Jahikoi: Except "foil" doesn't have to mean either regular holo or reverse holos - it could very well refer to both.

maybe.. Packs with a holo, will no longer have reverse holos in them.. :(

but that would reduce the amount of loose packs on ebay (due to weighing)

If they say one foil in each pack, what does that mean to having 1 holo and 1 reverse holo? I doubt they would make the holo take the place of the reverse holo; although that could be an interesting change.

Well, they have done something similar before, with the Arceus cards taking the place of the Reverse Holos...
But as much as I'd love that, I'm quite sure they just mean that you're guaranteed to get at least one foil card, not that there's no chance of getting two.

taken from pokemon.com:
BW - with each booster pack including one guaranteed parallel foil card!

BW EP- with each booster pack including one guaranteed foil card!

they meant the same thing and someone just typed it wrong. however, do note that on the tcgonline, organizing your collection by foil includes both holos and rev holos

so dont look too much into it guys. were going to get a guaranteed Reverse holo in each pack.
if it was guaranteed holo, we would have no space for other rare cards then.

I'd like to point out that it probably wasn't a typo, as ogeray is suggesting. As far as I know, English Pokémon packs have NEVER always included a holo (RHs don't count), so changing the words around to make it seem like every pack has a holo is just a plot to make more money.
"Oooh, these packs always have a holo? They're shiny, and I'm a little kid, so I like shiny things, I'll buy ten!"

yea, thats basically what i meant.
its all marketing schemes guys
trust me, im a marketing graduate
